      Mandy I do like much of your content, actually. I like that you enable people to travel vicariously and that you see the world, so we do not have to, LoL!
      Here is what I have noticed watching videos in and on YT ever since YT was in its infancy (circa waaaay back in 2005):
      1) In my listening experience, people tend to ramble off topic far too easily.
      They also take a bloody long while to get to the meat of every video, and / or the subject matter in the title of each video. I cannot tell you both how terribly BORING this can be to listen to.
      Example: Let's pretend that the title of your video is "Why we moved out of --- " then, for Lord's sake, jump right in and list all of the reasons why you hated living in ----, so much so, that you chose to move out of there. Do not tell us how lovely somewhere is if such is not the title of your video, or the history of somewhere, etc. It will be a right YAWNER.
      2) Also, if you (Mandy this is meant for everyone and not just for you, and Lloyd, so please do not take such personally) are walking anywhere and want to point out sights and such, please do keep to just that and do not let your mind and narration wander to "Oh, look at that birdie over there ..." or "Oh, this reminds me of the time ..." and/or some such.
      Again, many of us do not endless amounts of time to listen to videos, and when stuff is kept right the way on-track, then it will be most engaging.
      I like it when folks jump right in, tell their audiences whatever and then ... get out.
      3) Also, I tend to zone out if videos are more than about 20 minutes long. It's a time factor. I do not have endless amounts of time and hours per day to listen to everyones' everything. I subscribe to a ton of content here on YT and if everyone made bite-sized videos, in bite-sized chunks of time, then their content would be so much more digestible.
      CHEERS, and have a nice holiday weekend!

    Thanks Mandy. We just started our TH-cam channel and are following in your travelling footsteps. We are travelling around the world with our three small kids, and we arrived in Bali 3 weeks ago (we are from Ontario, Canada). Your early content has helped us along our way and we will continue to use your channel as our guide for Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. The hardest part I'm finding about TH-cam is finding the time to edit the videos. Between moving around, filming, sightseeing and homeschooling, time is so limited. I'll keep it up though, thanks for this video!

      Yes that is the hard part for sure, keep it up though good on you.

    Good content. One of the things that I find intimidating is the editing that one needs to know how to do in order to create a good video. That too is an art as it's what keeps it interesting and moving forward.

    This video is EXTREMELY helpful!! I'm on my beginning stage of YT right now and it's really easy to get hung up and caught in the views or numbers or subscribers and I need to look past that. Thank you guys again so much! You both have come so far and it's so nice to know that folks have come a long way and weren't just given everything under the sun, but that speaks to the character and drive you both have and that deserves to be recognized! Keep being awesome 😆😆

    We completely relate to this! We spent 6 months editing our videos on our phones, but then we realised the full potential of youtube and took it more seriously. There are ups and downs but you've just got to keep on going, the end result is worth it 🙌

    Would you ever do a video and show us how you organize all your footage in folders and how you find stuff when you need to find older footage to add to a video. Not sure if you’re into videos like that, but I would appreciate that. Great video and congrats on 50k

    Cool content, as always. So thanks! Love your channel and your offbeat personalities. 😊
    My view: In life, if there's something you want to do, just start, period. It's the most important thing, to just start. Preparation is good of course, but action is better. you will figure it out as you go along, adapt and learn from the million mistakes that will undoubtedly occur, and u will learn from others and research.
    Enjoy the crazy journey!

    Awesome video Mandy, thank you for sharing! You guys seem to have grown so fast - I can't even imagine having 50K subscribers in the first year (I know it takes most people a year just to get to 1000 /4000 hours). You guys have done so amazing 😀😀😀

  • @samandchristinetravel

    Great video and very helpful! What we find difficult is wanting to record and make videos for our memories as a travel diary for our families to watch but also wanting to make videos people can watch and find interesting and useful. The Vlogging part is the hardest I think 🙈 we sometimes worry people won’t like us / can’t relate to us or will find us annoying so it’s tough putting yourself out there to be criticized I think !
    Wondered if you have any advise for negative comments and people disliking your videos? How do you deal with that? 🧡

    • @LloydandMandy
      @LloydandMandy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is very tough, our best advice would be to read the book “the 4 agreements”. You will realise what people think of you doesn’t actually affect you at all, good luck on your journey!

    Thanks for sharing such a great video, I'm so surprised you only use iMovie and canva. I thought all TH-camrs used paid apps. (I bought FINAL CUT, but I can't master it.😂)I started making travel vlogs in January of this year. I stay at hotels, go on bread trips, and do many other things. However, perhaps because the genre is not narrowed down, the number of viewers does not increase much. Thumbnails and titles are difficult. I'm thinking about making a channel only for hotel vlogs. Or do you want to continue like this for a while? It's embarrassing to look at the camera and talk, but should I try it? Thank you.💞

    What do TH-camrs make per 1000 views??......Google says between $4 to $12 USD per 1000 views, but that is a wide range, and not helpful.
    You think the average TH-camr makes $8 USD per 1000 views? ie- 30k views on a video, nets you $240 USD?

    • @LloydandMandy
      @LloydandMandy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So many variables it really depends, you can’t say how much each video makes because it depends on the audience.

    Hi Mandy, My Name i Dave I operate the Rusty Traveller channel. Please check me out !
    I wanted to thank you for your content. I am subscriber and have been watching all your Vietnam videos. There great!
    Your videos are all very helpful. Simple, ernest, and informing. Keep up the good work.
    I'm going to Vietnam today coming from Canada.
    i was surfing stuff the other day and your video came up next to mine. So on the screen it was you and Lloyd next to Tanya and I. we were almost using the same thumbnail design. Pretty funny.
    Didn't know how else to contact you. If you ever want to do something with another creator let me know it would be a real thrill for us.
    Take car, well see you on the road.
