I was thinking this is good until "wait 6-48hrs for polymer to set depending on repair". This is not an in the field repair!

Ya but you can still ride with a damaged spoke till you reach your destination where you repair and rest. Should be fine. Although if one has to carry a repair kit all the time, beats the purpose of a tubeless system.
