I’m going to play mother here, Julie, and recommend that you ensure that your TETANUS BOOSTER is up to date. Getting splinters from old wood or cuts from rusty nails, etc. can be very risky. Please assure us that you are up to date and that Luke is too. Loved your update, and Happy Easter!
And it's not just tetanus!! I developed cellulitis in my hand and arm from a stupidly small splinter of decayed timber and it was hell! Three rounds of antibiotics (including intravenous) cleared it up but I had months of horrible pain, numbness, pins and needles that was so bad that it kept me awake and had me in tears. I worried that I wouldn't fully recover the use of my hand. I'm okay, thank God, but yes, I agree, an innocuous splinter can have significant ramifications. Happy Easter to you too!!
These sit and chat moments are very engaging. A great idea. A lovely reminder that not everything at Mapperton is going at warp speed 100% of the time.
I brew a cup of tea before I settle in and watch your videos. Whether it’s from Julie or Julie and Luke together, I find it a wonderful and welcomed distraction from my own chaotic life. You two are brilliant together. Julie’s energy and Luke’s calming disposition works. I lost my husband to cancer many years ago, so watching you two live and work together warms my heart.
Totally love that you are including restoration of Wildlands and wild life in your projects on Mapperton. Julie is just a Godsend to Mapperton helping to bring it back to it's glory and breath life back into it, she not only is a little Dinamo but truly cares about her home and puts forth the effort to renovate and do it right and most importantly with love for the place. Her legacy will be a Mapperton restored to it's former glory with new additions and renovations added in to leave it that much better. I hope one day long into the future her portrait is proudly Hung and displayed as the Countiss that Mapperton needed.
And Julie is personal goals x 100! She is so down-to-earth humble yet so immensely talented, beautiful and gracious!! One of the few people who is entertaining in any and all situations! Julie is a gift to us all!
Yes she seems very articulate , clever and really nice. I’ve watched her on tv and she’s very engaging and knowledgeable, I’m not being weird but her husband is a lucky man,, mind you he also seems a decent bloke
I too absolutely love these sit and chat episodes. They are interesting and informative. I love to see all the progress around Mapperton as well as I really like seeing you both together. 😊
You two are great together organising all the restoration. Loving watching your content, it is coming along so well. Like the having a chat set up as well.
Send a letter to the King, after May he should have time to come to Maperton and check out your renature project, sounds weird, but he might think it is great and become your Patron
Julie & Luke are great to open your life to us viewers everywhere. Projects always have their hiccup’s. Don’t let it get you down. We learn by doing and also suggestions from viewers helps as well. That’s life, how you deal with issues is a testament to your character and devotion to your projects. You will get through it god willing. Hay, if you have skills? Use it!. Rebuilding an eco system is tough work but well worth it.
I would sure love to hear the reason for painting the plank floors at "Keeper's Cottage" black (or any other color). In the short clip here, the wood seemed to have sanded beautifully.
Oh Julie! My sympathy for your splinter owie! When we were doing our old floors many years ago, I was scraping and a huge splitter went under my nail and it was by far one of the most painful things ever!!!
With less farmland available for food production, could you see bringing tenant farmers back and selling some produce like the Duchy of Cornwall does? You could bring in some historic local livestock breeds and heirloom vegetables and seeds (like Jefferson's gardens at Monticello in America). Maybe get help from local farm and garden historians and clubs, give farm tours??
Julie is so truly dedicated and committed to this estate. I love to watch her fortitude even and especially when things get challenging. She is the reason I watch.
Oh to live close to Mapperton. I'd be there volunteer painting like a madwoman! I love painting walls, woodwork....it's so relaxing and zen to me I need to win a lottery so I can do such things....come stay somewhere and lend a hand as a gift as well as give gifts to keep things repaired. May abundance find its way to help with all the projects
Enjoying the new chat format. Your family, projects & repairs make for a wonderful look into the historic estate you call home. You are doing so much to add to & insure the the future of Mapperton. Keep up the good work. Love the "wilding project."
I have started watching somewhat sporadically and this summation brought me up to speed. Whew! ☺ What do your children, the next generation, think of what you are doing? Bringing in the animals as a balance to your land was interesting, I'd like to hear the history of why the animals were not there any longer, if it is in a previous video lead me to it.
The two of you are wonderfully imaginative and innovative in your many pursuits at Mapperton...brilliant! I’m also hoping that, once the weather turns, the Earl and Countess will be featured again for historic stories and garden tours. 🌸 Cheers to the entire Mapperton team!
I know, I know! She used to watch America's next top Model. Gorgeous cattle! Wild horses! Some Rolling Stone vibe there. You really should publish the recipe book! Do each of the recipes. This is exciting!
Julie you are doing so well with the project management! I can heartily assure you that EVERY project has issues, delays, kerfuffles, disasters, etc. Just remember to breathe and laugh about all the crap🤣
so exciting to hear about the new inhabitants of the wildlands arriving! On the rewilding timeline on Mapperton Wildlands it says they were due to arrive in June 2022. Did that change? Would be cool to have periodic updates on the wildlands project with walks, maybe given by your ranger-farmers, if Julie is busy with construction things. That project is so different from what most of the restoration people do on TH-cam, I feel like you could get a much larger audience, tapping into the rewilding and nature-conservation subsection on youtube with more dedicated and regular videos in the subject. Maybe you could have dedicated videos on Wildlands updates, Manor and Garden updates, general fun and games things (croquet, picnics and the likes) all visibly sorted, by colour coding the stills with different banners or frames. Or the video titles start with „Mapperton Wildlands:…“ and the likes.
How about a separate DIY channel given so many of those projects happening, where you get into some detail of how to do things, the process, the materials, etc.
Julie! You do more than anyone I’ve seen. You take on so much! You dive into the endless repairs and tasks at Mapperton with all your energy and presence. Then there’s the beautiful home in Italy you’re renovating! It’s stunning! I’m so excited for the arrival of your new animals! That in itself can be a new channel! You appear to be thriving and it’s a joy to witness. Massive love and adoration from NYC! PS: I can 3D print you some eagles, cheap. 😂 j/k
OK, just "liked", subscribed, watched the commercials all the way through ( yikes!) and now leaving a comment, because Julie and Luke have charmed me! I'm not in a position to contribute financially, but I'm happy to do these little things, and hope others can see their way clear to doing the same for this lovely couple 😊 Best wishes to you both ❤️
Good to hear from you both! I agree - the escapades were some of my favorite videos - Iron age hill, picnic, lost village, etc. - along with the cooking episodes with both of you - wonderful. Honestly, I pretty much love anything the two of you do! lol Good luck with finishing up the current projects, it has been a roller coaster ride with Keeper's Cottage for sure.
Funny you were sponsored by a clothing line, I am a fashion designer in the US, and I've been watching you, and think you have a sub-brand to start, the Mapperton line of sweaters = jumpers, they are modern takes of classic styles, with a Mapperton logo, get B & B to do it for you and test at your shoppe.
Oh, I would rethink bringing pigs in to root up everything. Just ask the farmers and ranchers in a large part of the U S. They are super destructive and very, very hard to manage.
Hello Luke and Julie what a pleasure to share your update of the various projects at Mapperton I see growth exciting renovations yoga and a three course meal by Alberta and Luke the special guest I can’t wait 💖👌Have a Happy Easter my loves and keep up the fabulous work and the support you have for each other just Amore💖💖😘😘👌👌🌟
Mapperton Historic Restoration and Construction Company! I can see the Lorry driving thru town right now! Summer apprenticeships for the local high school boys and girls! "Original Sandwich Recipes of the Earl of Sandwich" (That doesn't have to be true, but it would be a great cookbook of lunch and picnic recipes in your shop!) Another idea is to make Mapperton a breeding center of historic British breeds in farm animals that are hard to find now, same with the vegetable gardens, flowers, and orchards. Historic strains that are no longer easy to find and reintroduce them to strengthen and continue those genetic lines. What do you think of these ideas? I know you are very busy, but these are more ideas that will bring you more income, if they can fly.
Could you transcribe the recipes into a cookbook? I know I would love to have a turn of the century culinary Mashup of the American aristocracy. Maybe add some of today's mapperton recipes. "Mapperton's Culinary Journey: a History of Recipes" ❤
Now you are open for the season I am interested in how the channel helped with visiting numbers? I know you have done a lot to create interest but how much has the channel helped? All the best.
You all have your hands full! Like Julie, I am a DIYer in the midwest US, and the challenges you take on just floor me. I can't help but think about how your ancestors had centuries to create the estates, and yet so much seems to need attention rather immediately. Good luck to you both. We enjoy tuning in to your journey.
You know what I love about you, too, as you’re so down to earth and for the people that makes me so happy that she’s American from New York, that you have a crossed lands brought in store for events like no other! God bless you all
Love these video's where you mash it all together, such fun and information. Julie the DIY, Model, Journalist, Student of many things, Yogi, Project Manager, Mom, Wife and our Hostess. Luke I'm sure you are just as busy (Julie must have given you a list lol). Happy Easter!
Hi Julie. Are you all talking about wild pigs/hogs? We have a horrible problem with them right now taking over vast areas of the south and rooting up pasture land etc...
I love you both. You two have spunk and seem to be so happy together. There are good guys and gals out there to love. Look at these two. By the way do you two have a little squabble every now and then? Just asking out of fun.

Good advice!
Luke’s heartfelt appreciation of Julie is so lovely! Their interactions make this channel one of the most entertaining on TH-cam!!! 💕💕💕
I love that too! So nice to see his regard for her hard work and dedication to the many projects at hand.
I love this wonderful couple
Haven’t seen Mom lately, how is she. Would love to see more of her
Beautiful how Julie is so passionate I’m impressed
These sit and chat moments are very engaging. A great idea. A lovely reminder that not everything at Mapperton is going at warp speed 100% of the time.
#couplegoals
Love that by the end of the video Julie was much more chipper just by having had a chance to sit with Luke and reconnect.

Go Luke and Julie Go you are blessed with brilliant staff , one step forward three steps back and you have each other

Hi Maggi Rae, that is such a good idea to invite King Charles lll & Queen Camilla to Mappleton.
Use it!. Dartmore pony’s eat Gorse bushes. Great choice.
Happy Easter to you and your family!
I love these casual conversations between you two. ❤
Your horses will also donate something else: 💩 Great for your flowers and vegetables!
I hope you plan on creating a cookbook of Alberta’s recipes! I would buy it in a minute. There are many of us that love historical Cookbooks!!!!! ❤
I’m anxious to buy the cookbook with Alberta’s vintage recipes.
So sweet when Luke said he didn’t know he was marrying such a talented DIYer! Love your vids. Happy Easter from Milwaukee!
What a great idea to get animals particularly the animals you have chosen.
Back to nature, the most exciting part for me. More on that, please! (Edit, the animals! The horses, pigs, beavers, cows.)
Julie is so truly dedicated and committed to this estate. I love to watch her fortitude even and especially when things get challenging. She is the reason I watch.
Wish I were there to volunteer to help! Was on my husband's pro reno team. Have painted a few miles of walls and ceilings my self. Hello from Texas!
Donated to the eagle restoration at the GoFundMe Mapperton Eagles. Edit over £7,626
Happy Easter weekend everyone
Thank you for the updates. Love you both from Texas. Julie, there is no adds. Actually, all Utube videos that I watch are adds free.

Love Luke’s character
I am in awe of what you all do and can do Julie!🤩❤❤
Love the clothes. Love the fashion show 😀. I would do that at the beginning of the school year when I was in high school 😄
I know, I know! She used to watch America's next top Model. Gorgeous cattle! Wild horses! Some Rolling Stone vibe there. You really should publish the recipe book! Do each of the recipes. This is exciting!

I love this chat time. Great to catch up with you both. Exciting projects..can't wait to see the end results of all of them. 🥰🇨🇦
I watch ALL the ads! I know it helps fund things 👍
You go Julie! 💃 Love empowered sisters! Thumbs will heal… I hope! 💞
I absolutely LOVE to see in your opening, the beautiful condition of your swimming pool after all of yours and others great efforts.

Your volume has not been loud enough lately. Turn it up please! I love watching Mapperton! But I need to hear it too!

You guys are great.. a calming help and distraction during these times , thankyou for your Channel

This idea is fabulous idea - the “Catch Up Show” !!

Enjoyed the "fireside chat" and catch up nature of this episode. You guys are great!
Yes! The Luke and Julie escapades!
Lovely couple and great update video.
Also would ❤ to see Luke and Julie adventures!!
And Alberta recipes in the Mapperton kitchen!
(I STILL love the bread and butter pudding episode!)
In CA USA. Would love too ! Hopefully soon !

Wow so much going on! Especially now that spring is here. Please remember to take a breath and a break.
Happy Easter! He died 4 All 🙌
Good evening from South Africa
Hi🇿🇦🙋♀️ Watching during loadshedding.
Now you are open for the season I am interested in how the channel helped with visiting numbers? I know you have done a lot to create interest but how much has the channel helped? All the best.
You can come to the USA and recover your Starlings, your birds!
Good afternoon from Louisiana
Thank you for the update. Y’all are so good together ❤

It’s afternoon in Kansas City Missouri
Looking forward to see Mapperton and the gardens in real life when we will be in the UK for a 6 weeks holiday this year. Greetings from NL.
Evening from South Africa!

Please move the swing away from the hill drop off. Accident waiting to happen. Love your program
Luke, was that a Lion King reference? Warthogs on their way to Mapperton I suspect!
Julie will you be commentating at the coronation? I hope so!
Nice sweater(Julie). Color is lovely.
Good luck Mick on that 1st year target 😮

This is a great post to share with my friends to see what you are all about.
Happy Easter from Minnesota
Sooo excited about the ponies 🐴🐴🐴
