I picked up a 2x3x8 and made a crate to hold my dog’s toys. Like we’re talking under $3 to build this. My wife gave me a list of what we need and agreed on a 10x12 outdoor workshop. Your technics on the DIY’er are great. Thanks ❤

What a coincidence! today I restored old wooden boxes. a while ago I received a large amount of old fruit boxes from someone. Many of these boxes were damaged and I have restored them today. It was with double pleasure that I watched this video and am proud of my work that I did today. Greetings

You need a license for them, as they are semi-automatic. You can also get a class 3 license and be able to get a fully automatic assault hammer.

But Nordbo, the auto hammers are illegal in California where Steve lives... he has to use a single tap version...much safer, lol.

Just finished mine this weekend, was the perfect first project! First time doing a panel glue-up and I made a homemade jig to accurately crosscut everything to size with the circular saw. I sized the crate to fit an existing bookcase so it only took 3 1x3 using the easy version but did the handles like on the advanced version (gotta use that router). So much fun!

Just a quick point of the obvious but it needs to be said - A HUGE major thanks for all your hard work.
It's so easy to not know/forget that it takes a lot of time to set up the camera, edit and all that extra stuff (in my case - not being uber diligent with the safety stuff off camera) so I'll say it again.... Thanks for all your hard work in making great content. All the best.

As a double-secret + advanced woodworker, I don't use free plans. Do you have a version that I can pay for, that will include 16,000 additional plans? If not, then I won't be building this. Must have Metric.

If you are using nails a great way to stop them splitting the wood is to take each nail and hammer it against a piece of metal like a vice or head of a cub hammer etc so that the tip of the nail splays a little. This creates a cutting edge so that the nail cuts as it enters the wood. This stops the fibres from pushing apart and splitting along the grain. It only takes a couple of hits each nail.

I've built these to take the place of grocery bags. The easy version is heavier, put together with screws, and perfect for canned goods. You do get some puzzled looks when you wheel a cart in with wooden crates in it.
