How Many Steps does it Take to Beat Pokémon Red? (No Movement Glitches / Sequence Breaks)

Today, it's a return to the Pokémon franchise to take on a different type of challenge: how many steps would it take to beat the game? For this run, I did not make use of any major movement glitches or sequence breaks that are possible in Gen 1, such as early access into Saffron or access onto Cycling Road, but we do make use of the infamous 1/256 miss glitch.
