      Wuk Lamat somehow made the reeds grow by having a random festival, and then a random bird comes out of nowhere in order to make her look good.

    Oddly enough DT wouldn't have been the first time the scions were written out. Heavensward msq was done 90% without scions. Mostly just alphinaud. Yshtola was just used to be introduced her master, than essentially dropped from the story. My hot take is that DT would have been a fair superior story if all 4 Claments of the throne were forced to travel together instead separate. Even with all the same story beats, just seeing each Claments point of view for each "Trail" and their answers would be far more interesting.

      The Scions were written out as you say, but in a different manner. In the past the Scions would be scattered/captured/away but the MSQ would generally use that excuse to develop the WoL as an individual, sometimes by forming new alliances (Coerthas/Ishgard) political and pesonal, or other things. And sometimes this exclusion of the Scions was perceived as going too far, as when Yshtola as you mention, would be dropped out of the story for an entire expac. But Dawntrail is on a whole other level. Here the WoL and the Scions are often present but in a way that reduces them to extras or stage scenery. Literally sidelined in scenes they are all present in, yet contributing nothing.

    • @stevenalvarez2924
      @stevenalvarez2924 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @qamarqammar7629 I agree the scions were sidelined differently. I was more focused on that the key plot device of scions not being around can be done if that is written well. As you said, which I agree, the writers did it badly.

    • @qamarqammar7629
      @qamarqammar7629 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes I agree. There are so many ways this could have been done differently, better, and without creating the backlash they are getting now. Nothing wrong with Scions being away for a bit, nothing wrong with a vacation, nothing wrong with dialling back the drama, lowering the stakes, getting to know new characters. It's all in the execution.

    I think the merging of Sphene's world and ours should've already begun prior to us heading over to the island. Then during the rite of succession, you are running into weird buildings that shouldn't exist. Running into ppl with memory issues.. maybe someone coming back to life. You'd be introduced to Sphene early on but she wouldn't reveal who she was right off the bat. She'd be looking for someone to help her.. which then she would find Zoraal Ja. There would be moments between them in the story that flesh out both of them further. Then you understand them working together. Then you could que in the post Rite of Succession stuff with a couple changes since you'd already know the players involved.
    Imagine the final zone has you erasing people whom you've ran into out in the world since you didn't know that they were a part of that system at the time. That would made it a bit more impactful instead of just throwing Krile's parents in there.

    • @cobalt968
      @cobalt968 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree wholeheartedly. Throw in some foreshadowing about the dimensional fusion later on in Heritage Found and it would’ve been a much tighter story. Stuff like lightning aether erratically increasing around Tural, causing freak lightning storms and devastating structures and crops… or packs of utterly alien and ravenous monsters coming out of other geographical features that may not have been there before, wreaking havoc on any passerby… something in the vein of what happened to Black Mesa in the Half-life series.
      All of these potential catastrophes could have led into the Rite of Succession being a trial by fire for all of the candidates, creating moments in which they are forced to adapt or fail; this wouldn’t necessarily exclude the lessons about cultural unity either. You just need to look at the formation of the Grand Company of Eorzea to see why.

      I also had this same idea before the 2nd half of the game. Doing this and they can keep us engaged in the first half, wonder what was happening to Tural and more work for the Scions, they could ask for Nero and Cid consultation etc. What we got was that Sphene and the entire Alexandria stuffs were introduced way too late, making the 1st half felt disconnected and feel like a drag.

    • @meamouse
      @meamouse หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@iwantobeliev9633 This was a mistake the game made by not connecting the player with Yyasulani as a zone or with it's people before the fusion happened. The land was destroyed and forever changed. A lot of people would have died. The game doesn't want to get into it so does a time skip partially to avoid the immediate aftermath - which is an unfortunate choice because it might give a different impression of disabling Living Memory if you actually see the cost of keeping it running.

    • @iwantobeliev9633
      @iwantobeliev9633 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My point wasnt even about caring about the people in Yyasulani or Living Memory.
      My point was more like:
      From my understanding when a shard is rejoined, the broken world turns into aether along with its denizens and zodiark piece, the resulting flow of aether into the source end up turning into fuel to a calamity.
      While Alexandria might have been spared inside the plot armor thunder barrier and its transposition changed the landscape where it landed, the shard from wich they came have already been rejoined, so there's nothing else there to be fused into the source and I dont remember Spheene saying she would try the fusion with another shard.
      So when she says that she will fuse the dimensions (and the only dimensions she might know at that point is hers, the one of the millalas that got frozen and the source) I was like "sure go ahead, there's nothing there anymore so what gives"

    I think sphene was actually pretty cool include....just ruined by wuklamat. the idea that sphene would turn to the worst people imaginable just to save her people actually makes sense when consider how her civilization survives. they showed us that her people adored her and visa verse. Otis dying in the story and dungeon is what sealed it for me.

      You know what the worst part about that moment is?
      The fact that the writers specifically have Erenville say that he's going to stay behind to man the control systems so that he can quickly get ALL of the Scions present at the gate to come in and help us. If he can get all of them that easily, why only send her? Wuk Lamat saving us like that is a forced bullshit hero moment on every level conceivable, and even though I saw it coming a thousand malms away, it still majorly pissed me off.

    • @tatersalad76
      @tatersalad76 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Wuk Lamat didn't "steal" our win at all. She had far more stakes in this fight then we did. In case you forgot, she got inaugurated as co-ruler and less than a week later her people got attacked and some got slurped into the soul machine. Her adoptive mother was denied seeing her for the rest of her life and got slurped into the soul machine. All she did was (if you were actually paying attention to the fight) spam her personal Tank LB3 a few times to provide us with safe spots to continue doing all the hard work of actually killing the boss. • @TheManBehindtheScreen
      @TheManBehindtheScreen หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@tatersalad76 no, because in that case there were are a few major differences. Firstly, the entire zone of Ultima Thule establishes what sort of things are possible with dynamis, which opens up what they did as a distinct possibility. Secondly, we're acutely aware of the power that belief and desire have in XIV, as that's a major part of what fuels the power of the Primals. Thirdly, it's not a case where it's just one Scion pulling out this "oh shit" card to save us from Meteon's spell. It's all of the major players - G'raha, Thancred, Y'shtola, Urianger, Estinien, and the twins are all channeling their prayers and hopes for our survival.
      The instance in EW's finale where I did roll my eyes is when Zenos goes full breaking and entering mode as Shinryu out of nowhere. Great spectacle, but still a pretty dumb plot convenience. Wuk Lamat showing up by herself to save the day feels closer to that, but worse for one reason that none of those moments in EW have: they support our moment as the WoL, where Wuk Lamat showing up steals the spotlight for herself, as if she hasn't had enough of it already.

      You raise a very good point in that sphene was hampered by wuk as much as anyone else in the story.
      Key here is what you said about her relating to wuk, when she could've been a lot more interesting if she related her crusade to the player. We've never met the Real Sphene.
    We met an AI construct of Sphene that was an accidental Paperclip Maximizer, except instead of turning the universe into paperclips, her directive was to turn the universe into fuel to perpetually preserve Alexandrian Citizens.
    The REAL Sphene that died in the flashback at the Alexandria dungeon wasn't like the one we met at all.
    She was made from second and third hand accounts of citizens who may have met or saw her and gave their imperfect data to the construct.
    The REAL Sphene is one of the splintered shards of an ascian, likely Altima, and since the crown regulator is free from the Sphene.exe program, it will resurrect the real one using the soul of the Altima that Gaius killed on the source during his time as the Shadowhunter.

    Okay, here's my hot take then. The Rite of Succession story should never have happened. As a premise, it's too complex for the plot light story they wanted to present in the first half.
    My expectation when we did our first adventure with Wuk Lamat back in Endwalker was that we were going to get a story that drew its inspiration from classic pulp adventure fiction. I'm talking things like Conan, Solomon Kane, Fahfrd and the Grey Mouser, Tarzan, The Jungle Book, and so on; stories which were lighter on plot, but chock full of adventure, action, and fun. That vibe was put into place with the little adventure we take with Wuk Lamat on the Isle of Haam, and it would have been the perfect sort of thing to draw inspiration from for a lighter story like what they wanted to tell. It's the sort of thing they tried to do with the first half of Shaaloani, and while it has its issues, that portion of the MSQ was considerably more fun than exploring the shallow complexities of the rite of succession.
    Additionally, one of the big benefits that would come from taking an approach inspired by old adventure stories is that they lend themselves to carrying larger overarching plots. Recurring villains are a common thing in those stories, and that would have played very nicely to characters like Bakool Ja Ja and Zoraal Ja. Those stories are also written to be self-contained, able to be enjoyed on their own just as much as they are able to be enjoyed in bulk. Granted, the team did do this to some degree with the individual tribe stories in the first three zones, but there wasn't enough there. They were too shallow, stretched too far. They needed to be willing to either be snappier with what they had or fill the time they wanted with more events that were higher stakes for those regions.
    We should have gotten more small-scale conflicts to force Wuk Lamat out of her comfort zone. More situations that required our involvement. More in general to do in these early zones that wasn't just the rampant Beast Tribe style busywork we did for the Pelu Pelu, the Hanuhanu, and the Moblins. Give us proper stakes for those people. Give us a reason to be there that we can feel in the story and the gameplay. Give us actual adventure!

So i think it would have been better if she had begin as a white mage and was not willing to fight for anything and only want to protect. That way we have 3 cores to being a king, protect the people, protect the culture and fight off any threat, and each promise would have 1 thing to learn. Then zorool ja would have make a deal to make his people eternal in exchange for leading the army, this way we show he also wanted to protect his people. And the story would all have been about what it takes to be a good king.

    Xak Tural and Mamook got screwed over because the writers have become reliant on the 2nd act twist formula that Shadowbringers started. The Alexandria stuff should've been left for post-patch content like the void was or just be its own expansion.
    Zoraal Ja should've gotten more screentime and an actual personality instead of hopping from shallow motivation to shallow motivation every other appearance, and he should've been the final boss. How could he do that without the tech? Simple, have him do some Primal-esque stuff with his followers' faith and expectations (you know, that thing the story told us was weighing down on him at the last minute) and the baby jars in Skydeep Cenote.
    Either the Rite of Succession should've been the whole expansion so other characters could shine along the way, or act 2 should've been the a completely separate adventure in Xak Tural with just Erenville and Krile so they could get the screentime they should've had. Have Estinien/Y'shtola/Thancred/Urianger pop up every now and then just to fill up Trust Roles for dungeons then have them go on their way or just give us one-off npc trusts like Lyna and the Elpis trio were.
    Overall, I wanted the summer vacation we were promised, not yet another world-ending apocalypse caused by yet another ancient hyperadvanced civilization.

    I agree with that first take. The rug pool that Emet brought them ALL back after they laid down their lives for cause, made me put my controller down and contemplate leaving the playthough there.
    They could have even done with they did with ARR with Y'sthola and Thancred, that they were gone...but there was still a hope they could be returned to us, and that alone could spark so many new stories into researching dynamis and working towards creating a miracle by one by one returning the scions to us. But no. Emet...I love you, but you needed to mind your own beeswax.

    We agree to disagree. I wish people would stop comparing older stories' expansions and look to the new. Wuk lamat is naive to the world around her. This is not good nor bad. Warrior of light turns back into a humble yet seasoned adventurer. There will be all types of people's characteristics one should come across, not just cynical or researchers. I like the last line of the video: "dont' take everything too seriously," in life or in gaming.

    My hot take is, I actually enjoyed Dawntrail. I say hot take because it seems like everyone online doesn't like it at all, at least from what I've seen. Granted I'm more than willing to admit it has flaws: it's pacing isn't the best (too slow in the first half, too quick in the second), as much as I love Wuk Lamat she does get overly focused on and gets about 90% of the character development which is a problem with the writing. And Krile felt like she was just sort of forgotten until the last area of the expansion.
    That said, I enjoyed my time in Dawntrail. It just makes me a little sad not everyone did. Oh well. I'm not gonna flame anyone for not enjoying it, and whatever criticism that people have of the expansion I'm sure that the FF14 team is looking over it and seeing how they can improve in the future.^^

    Like many have mentioned, I feel like the pacing of 7.0 was definitely weird. I don't really blame the writers as writing a pretty much brand new story is very difficutl, but given the current 7.0 story we have, I think one of the following to options could have made it better:
    1. Make the whole Tural part a lot longer with slower pacing, more "boring" world-building, and more time to know the new cultures and see the Scions interact with the new world. Then in later patches do the Alexandria story (like the post 6.0 story about Zero and the Void).
    2. Start the whole story with Alexandria invading Tural. People in Tural already know about and have some connections with Sharleyan, Eorzea and the rest of the world, so let the story start with them asking for help due to not being able to stop Alexandria. Let us spend more time learning about Tural after we've stopped Sphene, or even during the war while we're working together to hold them back. This I feel would make the trip to Tural more justified, though it would mean discarding the "WoL on vacation" vibe.
    They're likely going to give more context on Alexandria and the portal key in the patches so we'll probably have to see how they handle that part to properly evaluate the choices they've made in 7.0 so far.

    Most of DTs narrative issues stem not from lazy writing alone but a lot more from formularic game design which changed with ShB.
    We don't need 6 MSQ dungeons. We don't need a trial on lvl99. Look at HW/SB, they both had an optional leveling dungeon (51 / 63), both had the second trials at 57/67.
    Using these liberties would allow for a more fleshed out story. Have all the claimants fail the final test (frees up lvl95 dungeon for now) and let Gulool JaJa act on his words of not crowning any of them. Wuk Lamat should still be worthless at this point, let her be the one dragging you down and loosing the fight against him. Let the invasion play out similar but focus more on the still grumpy Bakool JaJa and Wuk Lamat, give them less forced bonding time. Put Vanguard dungeon at 95 instead and make us take over the base instead during most of lvl96 (to still get Shaaloani some screentime). This leaves more room for Zoraal Ja and Sphene to be explored. Dungeon and trial both at 97, we still got a whole level left to explore more people of Solution9/Heritage Found and their opinions. All this is time Wuk Lamat is actually able to grow and deserve the respect of her people, allowing her to retry the final test. She wins, we can go to the portal (that is not behind a dungeon) and maybe still got room for 1-2 additional quests in Living Memory. Now we have more backstory on the characters involved, Wuk Lamat had a better growth and while we fight Queen Eternal as if it were an average Wednesday, she can rightfully solo the last 20% as she is way more invested than us.

    • @Juskaey
      @Juskaey หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 2nd trials being at the n9th level instead of n7th has bothered me since ShB. There's too large of a gap between them in the middle and it feels like the story pacing keeps suffering because of it. The lead up to both Mount Gulg/Innocence and Aitiascope/Hyadaelyn was painful (complete with inappropriate zone music override!). The sense of urgency for Innocence and Zoraal Ja in particular come to a grinding halt. Hell, Zoraal Ja was actually able to invade because we (Lamat) were taking our sweet sweet time taking a tour of S9.
      For me, both the invasion came too late in the story and the Rite of Succession was wrapped up too early. And actually, I agree with the notion that we shouldn't have been asked by Wuk Lamat to participate, it should've been an invitation from Gulool Ja Ja to keep an eye on ALL of the claimants. But I also wish the invasion had happened earlier and put the Rite of Succession on hold. The results of staving off the invasion would feel a much more natural conclusion to Wuk Lamat and Koana becoming Dawnservant than winning the competition.

    To be honest, with the story, I feel if they started with dome showing up, and Erenville asking the Scions help, then we get introduced to Tural, the leader and his kids as side characters that would join us once a while, while exploring Alexandria and souls stuff more, and focused on showing instead of telling.. i think this would have been completely different and way better than the garbage we suffered through, and going through the different cultures with seeing not telling, like how we did in every other expansion, specially in SHB.
    Wuk Lamat character is so boring and cliche I was rolling my eyes they almost got stuck inside my head, (I played with Japanese VA and it was so good on that regard) and tbh Wuk Lamat is the worst friend ever, because when Sphene hinted at where to look for Erenville’s mother, Lamat brushed it aside and went to learn about how they grow crops in Alexandria, and he has no choice to wait since he can’t fight till Wuk Lamat took a tour around their farms and HELPED them WTF

    The DT cast should've been Us, Erenville, Graha, and Wak Lamat.
    For Trust/Duty Support reasons, Wuk Lamat is capable of being the definitive Tank(DPS if they keep the shtick of shoving characters in a role even if their class/job isnt that role)
    Graha never got his adventure, is the very knowledgeable for the magical/metaphysical aspects of the story(especially in the later half), and is an all arounder, so he can sub for whatever role is needed based on your WOLs job/class.
    And Erenville and Krile get to get their character exploration.
    Graha and the WOL imo would make good mentors for Wik Lamat as well.
    The WOL as a training partner and Graha as her mentor in leadership for obvious reasons.

  • @ikeaira8701

    My hot take is:
    I believe the storytelling aspect of the game should stop, and should have stopped with EW. It's okay to leave mysteries out in the world, it leaves a lot for creative thinking to the players for RP purposes or theorizing and allows the devs to flesh out this game into a "proper" MMORPG instead of starting on great ideas for a patch then completely forgetting about them when the following patch/expansion rolls around. There's so much potential in this game just left behind: Squadrons(Yes I know they SORTA evolved into Trusts, but there's still potential there for our Squadron npcs), Egi-Glamour, Island Sanctuary, and Chocobo Racing/Breeding just to name a few.
    Now will this ever happen, and do I expect them to do this? No, because they have built their audience up around the storytelling aspect. But it is a shame when low points/quality like in DT arise because of a lot of themes have already played out for general story telling beforehand. The only place they can go from here that will "top" everything else would be our Source and Shards is only one "Bubble" in the grander universe that has their own "Bubbles" with an even bigger puppeteer orchestrating Everything. And other than that of finishing up what's left to explore of the source and other shards, basically rehashing a lot of stuff that's already been done to an extent in themes alone.
    This sorta ties into the final Hot take in the video, and I agree with them on the part about moving onto the next FF MMO. Just cause another FF MMO comes out doesn't mean XIV won't continue to receive updates. In fact, FFXI just got their "final expansion" in 2023. They'll never give up on XI as they won't for XIV. The best way I can put it is: "If you have one lemonade stand that's doing really well, why wouldn't you open up another?" That opens up so much room for additional funds to the company. And like a lot of XI players did when XIV came out(outside of the issues with 1.0 lol), there would be a wave of players in XIV that would go check out the next FF MMO. I know I would.
    With that, to clarify again: No I do not expect any of this to happen, or at least anytime soon. Maybe in 7years minimum we'll get an announcement trailer(nothing more than just that) to the next FF MMO, but that's about it. Is fun to ponder on is all, please do not take it seriously reader.

    My HOT take is that the team should've been only you, Krile and Wuk and that the promises are supposed to recruit a member from each region as part of the trial but since her dad want to open up borders he encouraged the participants to also recruit champions from outside. Then, you three would've gone and recruited characters like Mablu, one of the Goblins, etc... and finally Bakool Jaja would join your party after the events in Yak T'el (His team left him for being an ass, but he redeems slowly after he joins us). Obviously leaving more screentime for every other new party member, specially Krile. Come the final battle, the new party members would slowly jump in and help a little. Obviously it'd be cool to have party members from such races but I guess they need to consider the "Trust" system, which just forces them to use characters based on the playable races, yes, this sucks. Either way, not like this would fix all of DT's story problems.

If you ask me, I'd rather commit fully and have the Golden City be some cool Mayan dimensional space instead of, yet again ANOTHER modern city in which the final dungeon is you running and living their final moments, this is the third time in a row they pulled that off.

    Dawntrail, and Endwalker but that's another story, feels like it should have been two expansions, or at least an expansion and patches. Dawntrail is supposed to be a vacation expansion, an expansion where things chill out, bad things happen, giant monsters risk destroying the countryside like Valigarmanda, but still pretty chill. But instead it ends up being _another_ save the world plot line, the escalation has gone down, but its still huge. Like the writers were worried people wouldn't be invested in a regular vacation plot so amped everything up significantly.
    If it were up to me, it should have been a country exploring journey. Learning the surface levels of the cultures of Tural and how different they are, and helping people along the way. And during the second half be the actual Rite of Succession where we learn the deeper differences of Tural. And at the end of the expansion you build up to Sphenes appearance for the patches. Add in some proper build up of characters like Bakool Jaja and actual characterization for Wuk Lamat instead of making her the most one note happy go lucky character who learns but doesn't evolve as a character.

    I think the second half of the expansion is better than the first, but honestly the story is just horrible as a whole. And as most people seem to agree with me, Wuk Lamat is a horrible NPC and I would never support her given how childish and little she knows of her own people. Sure there was character development, but it was done very poorly and I don't want to deal with her again. Sphene wasn't handled the worst, but they could have done much better especially when this is post Endwalker and we have seen how they can tell a story. Also, why the hell do we keep leaving powerful McGuffin's on the ground (or just left in the wilds expecting no one will find them) for people to pick up? I still don't understand how people think these difficulties are too hard, they aren't the worst once you've seen the mechanic once or twice (teacup boss I somewhat understand, lot of people have issues with the old follow the cup game). First time going through the new raids (regular) I think I only died on the 1st and 3rd boss once each, 99% of the mechanics are pretty easy to figure out without reading but I've seen so many people get booted off of the stage or land on a damaged tile in that first fight as well. Now that isn't to say I didn't have vuln stacks, sorry to the healer that had to deal with my dps having 3 stacks in that 3rd fight when I didn't realize how his combo'd skills were going off, still not the worse for going in blind. I'll be honest. I 100% think what could have saved this initial story is indeed pacing. The Rite of Succession should not have concluded with 7.0, it's way too fast, and has almost no development, it should have been given in stages, possibly ending on perhaps 7.3, it really felt rushed and Wuk Lamat develops way too fast and in a stereotypical manner of C tier anime where the plot can't focus on deeper points before doing time skips, only here there are no time skips, so it ends up looking much worse. Even Zero in EW didn't develop as fast as Wuk and she's literally a side character

All it would take is letting Golbez succeed with a rejoining while the WoL is in the 13th. Then it's not a matter of the WoL being defeated or overpowered. You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The world ended and everything, including you, gets absorbed into the Source. 7.0 should have been a time skip and you are now playing the next incarnation of Azem. WoL isn't nearly as broken and godlike as the players like to pretend they are. They're strong, but by no means this unstoppable Mary Sue everyone sees them as. Killing them off would also be a terrible decision, thematically and narratively.

      I mean honestly most conflicts in this game are resolved that way. FF14 is very much a power of friendship heavy game, and it's a major recurring theme that no matter how strong a hero is, they're never going to accomplish anything all that significant on their own. We always need support and cooperation from the characters around us to win. We literally couldn't have even beat Endsinger and saved Meteion without all the memories and bonds we made throughout the story influencing the Dynamis before, during, and after the fight. The WoLs signature ability is literally to call for help ffs.
      And there's almost always a gimmick at play to allow us to level the playing field against vastly stronger opponents. Primal are just big elemental monsters, the blessing of light nullifies their most dangerous ability and then we gang up on them. Even regular people have had to face Primals before, at greater risk sure, but it's been done. Lahabrea was the weakest unsundered from all the possessions, Nidhogg we beat due to Hraesvelgr being a bro and lending his eye as a power boost, we used a gimmick machine to nullify Fordolas busted resonant powers, we would've lost to Emet if it hadn't been for Ardbert willingly rejoining with us and the Lightwarden corruption coming back to bite him in the ass, all convocation ascians need White Auracite or some equivalent to beat for real, both Zodiark and Hydaelyn were significantly weakened, everyone we couldn't talk down in post EW had to be sealed in Memoria or killed in the Source, and there's probably more I'm forgetting. Thordan and his knights are probably the only thing that stands out as a significantly powerful threat at that time in the plot that we just miraculously beat with no given explanation.
      It's just weird to me that so many players get this weird ego around the WoL and see them as this all powerful unstoppable doomguy who could level continents or some shit, as opposed to what they actually are: a very strong and skilled fighter and adventurer, but ultimately existing within the confines of being a normal person with flaws, who can and has lost to other regular people before, like Zenos and Ran'jit. Stg people act like this is DragonBall and the WoL has the highest power level, so that means they automatically win.

      @@SaltNipI mean, we tank a supernova that desolated most of the land, and broke out of a time rift with raw strength alone at level 50. And most of our big fights we canonically beat on our own, our character is absolutely Godlike because that’s how they keep writing us…when they want us to fight a big bad, the rest of the time the story treats us like a toddler that can’t do anything on their own and can be threatened by a random animal because God for I’d our character do anything useful in a cutscene. The issue is that they actually DO have our character have some ridiculous feats, and even if you think of it as our characters ganging up on some of them, an eighth of the power of the universe ending calamity is still waaay more than enough to effortlessly handle everything in DT.
      Btw, regarding Endsinger, Zenos only gave us a platform to stand on and gave the threat that if she ran we could just case her, he didn’t actually help fight at all. The scions doing the whole power of friendship really just let us endure a hit, all the fighting and power was still just us. If you can shrug off planets busting attacks being thrown at you, destroying continents would not be that impressive.

    I don’t think the Wol supporting Wuk is a big deal. It becomes abundantly clear within like five minutes of arriving that Wuk (and Koana) are far better for the throne than the racist and the war monger. If Wuk started acting evil then we would’ve ditched her or switched sides for sure, but she’s a literal saint as far as we can see so of course Wol would want her on the thrones. Also Thancred says that Zoraal Ja become Dawnservant could lead to war so they had an ethical motivation to support his brother instead
