Ultimately the sad thing about all of this is that no matter which side of this debate you are on we are all in the same boat, its like being on two different decks of the same ship. We don't know why we are here on this planet so how can anyone know if we are meant to be "free" or are meant to be "rounded up and injected". The fact that you differentiate only between those two sides shows the issue itself. You should have the freedom to not take the vaccine, other people should have the freedom to take the vaccine. You should have the freedom to voice your concerns about the vaccine being bad for someone's health. Another person should have the freedom to say to you that he or she believes in vaccines. Nothing is black or white but sadly that is where our society is heading more and more.

He won't lose anyone that matters. The people that know Rogan and have been listening to him for years know that he's a really good guy that's just trying to get to the truth. He doesn't always get it right every time but he's not stuck on his own ideas and he's willing to talk to anyone and have an honest and balanced conversation. No one gets everything right every time but he's willing to admit when hes wrong.

On a side note, most of what Jordan Peterson says, he doesn’t know that much of what he’s talking about. He is a doctor, but he’s a doctor in psychology, not in a medicinal practice. So his credibility of his takes on covid or something outside of his field is that of a normal person. He knows a little bit about a lot of subjects, and often speaks platitudes of the topic rather than diving into the deeper parts of the subject itself. Because people can understand him, they like him, even tho he’s not saying much.

Take a little here and a little there and decide for yourself who you trust more on separate issues. Joe isn’t trying to shut anyone down. Peterson was speaking about massive issues like climate change, and TG’s response was “AcTuAlLy JP HaS a PhD!” … Jordan Peterson has a PHD in clinical psychology. Nothing to do with climate change, obviously.
Regardless of political views and opinions on anything at all, why do people automatically try to cancel anyone who has a different opinion from what the media on either side of the hot topic in question ? Like I don't agree with everything anyone says but anyone with any kind of platform does it and the entire online community loses their absolute marbles. The Jimmy Carr thing is a prime example of things taken out of context.
Cancel culture is broadly a ploy used by low status individuals to empower themselves. There's nothing more "empowering" to people have too much free time and not enough status than reducing the status of a more successful person. Although I'm sure "they" would reject the idea, it's a broadly Narcissistic complex. Peterson's work on cancel culture is good - I don't agree with his views on everything - but he talks passionately about how most people partaking in cancel culture earn less than average, have often been bullied and spend exponentially more free time online (he summises due to a lack of social status and friends). Anecdotally, I agree
The premise of your point is untrue, it's what you've been told by the people who want you to believe that, to make you feel alienated and somehow an outlier, which you are not. You are not alone, that message comes from all directions but it's not true. The people pushing this message want us regular people to feel like we are different teams, which works to forward their agenda.

If Joe thinks the best way to combat covid is to not get a free, widely distributed and safe vaccine, but instead riddle yourself with every other drug under the sun to combat covid once you contract it, INCLUDING Ivermectin which has been proven NOT to effectively fight the infection, I think it’s fair game to call him misinformed or intentionally lying.

When Joe Rogan inflates the credibility of Robert Maline because he worked in a lab in the 80s and owns patents (owning patents is not something that gives you credibility for your findings in a scientific field, being peer reviewed is), True Geordie sarcastically says “He probably knows nothing about vaccines amirite????” .. suggesting that Robert Malone, who’s contribution to creating mrna vaccines was probably both partial AND so small it could be claimed to be nothing at all, isn’t just grifting for ivermectin when he spreads vaccine hesitancy.
Like .. if we are gonna call this show true news, Maaaaybe these things need to be looked at more closely then believing the word of Joe Rogan. love the videos and on the whole completely agree with what you're saying. However, I believe that Joe Rogan has a lot of power and responsibility by having the most listened to podcast in the world. In that sense he holds as much responsibility as all mainstream news. If people are going to claim something contentious they should be willing to accept a factcheck, especially from an independent organisation such as FullFact and there is nothing wrong with a warning before a podcast

He has had Alex Jones on the show and backed the theory that the vaccine was actually a microchip injection. Then in another episode he stated lockdowns don’t stop the spread of the virus. Which are both false.
Granted his show is entertainment and I don’t think he should be stripped of his platform. But once you start talking about disease, you should be responsible for how accurate your statements are because it can do harm.

And your taking about there is no balance? And there is a danger here? They are actively censoring side effects from the vax, that goes against the whole idea of informed consent. @@kklh7918 I don’t think they have standards, I know they do - there are various pieces of legislation and common law that ‘mainstream’ journalists and broadcasters have to abide by. You know, things like - make sure that facts are facts. The new wave of echo chamber fuelling youtubers and podcasters (et al) do not have anything like the same level of scrutiny. Getting large numbers of the public to distrust media has been one of the biggest problems/ achievements (depending on your perspective) of the last 50 years in my opinion. I just find it insane that people on the one hand think that something like the BBC, that’s regulated within an inch if its life, is more likely to push false information/ narratives, than a random guy in front of a camera on TH-cam. It demonstrates how powerful the tendency to believe what you agree with and want to be true is.
I love True News, but the Joe Rogan segment was hard to watch. Either the two of you are not informed or its just a horrible take. Joe Rogan did spread a lot of horrible misinformation about Covid and Peterson said some horrific things on his latest appearance, the clips were out of context, but the context only makes it worse to be honest. Joe Rogan isnt being cancelled because he gets so many listeners and is „independent“, he is being held accountable for is actions.

Joe’s viewers are free to think for themselves and form an opinion about whether what Joe and Jordan have said is true or not. There are valid views on either side. No one should be ‘held accountable’ for simply having a different view, whether the mainstream media or twitter keyboard warriors think it is justified or not. If their views are so ‘horrific’ then none of their listeners would believe them anyways, so what is the point of censoring them?

I mean people like Joe Rogan are called influencers for a reason, they can easily influence the opinions of their listeners/viewers (even if it's not their primary intention). It's not like everyone is an expert in everything, so it can be quite hard to know if the arguments of Rogan/Peterson/etc. are valid or not.
@@florey6373 People are increasingly throwing around the term misinformation as a label for anything they disagree with. Just because you think something is untrue, doesn’t mean it’s objectively untrue and there aren’t fair arguments with evidence that support it. The vast majority of people don’t believe everything ‘influencers’ say without question, and if they are influenced that easily then that is their fault for not thinking critically about what they hear. If Joe Rogan said that the Earth is flat in his podcast and people believe him, is that his fault for saying it or their fault for believing something with no valid evidence to support it? Even for a more complicated topic, you don’t have to be an expert to seek some valid evidence before believing something.

Uff I you guys were completely off the mark with this episode. Yes, Joe Rogan is not a news channel, however with great power comes great responsibility. This guy has the number 1 podcast in the world, he should at least be careful with the medical advice he gives. A lot of young teenage boys have replaced watching the news with watching him...
He offered alternative early treatments that were given to him by his Doctor and worked.
These people feel threatened because their narrative is crumbling.
They are definitely targeting him for his stance on mandatory vaccines that at best suppress symptoms.

it's a sad state of affairs that "misinformation" from Joe rogan is so dangerous because podcasters have so much influence because society has given up on politicians and the "experienced" media that it can be construed as a national emergency. Anyone posting information or disseminating information to masses including interviews with experts should be held accountable but cannot be to people with a vested interest in shutting them down

Referring to the Jordan Peterson situation.. they said “which he has no expertise in”, they literally put articles on Bill Gates giving us vaccine & Covid advice.. he became a doctor not because he completed his degree, he actually dropped out.. but because of his contributions.
Just noting that no matter Bill gates, when it comes to jbp, he is a psychologist nothing in his pursuit to become a doctor in psychology has to do with politics or medicine. Doctorates degrees don't carry over from one to another. It's like that dipshit who had a doctorates in medicine and started banging on about how black people are inferior to whites, despite him having no overlap in his education with anthropology. Dr. Isn't a universal term, it only means something in the field they got the doctorates in.

I didnt get to spend my uncles 50th birthday with him, I was very close to him as he had covid and was in hospital. This being my mums brother who shares the same birthdate but 10 years apart. He then passed away in December. Due to covid rules and him being vulnerable we barely got to see him in the last 2 years or when he was in hospital. Not getting to say goodbye or even be there for someone when they're going through that is heartbreaking but those in power just got to enjoy their wealth together

Agreed, Shay. I expected better from them, particularly Laurence. I guess it comes from a lack of a more coherent ideological framework to analyse these kinds of topics. Add to that their lack of awareness of politics outside of the UK and an overemphasis on "mainstream media vs new media" (which they reduce these situations to a little too easily) and you've got an easy recipe for subscription to the whole "insane woke mob don't want you to say anything at all" discourse. Shame, but not wholly surprising.
