I have owned my '92 3000GT for, this August will be 21 years. They are a lot of fun. Working on it has actually been therapy for me through all that time.
As a current Mitsubishi tech, I see nothing cool in the future sadly. Although they are making all the current model vehicles with a Rally edition package. Even the mirage lol
As a 3kgt owner I rarely see any on the road. Even tho there is videos out there, I really enjoy your channel. It’s awesome to see the progress on yours, which makes me want to build mine up as well. Keep the 3kgt videos coming :)
SoCal here, and an extremely rare sight to see one anywhere, none of the early Japanese 90's cars ( RX7, NSX, 300Zx, Supras, etc) regularly sighted either. But I KNOW they're out there, a whole bunch of smart owners knowing they have stashed in their garages the unique, the elegant, and as time goes by, an unobtainable Unicorn.
excellent cant wait to get my gto back on the road, watchin your vids gives me enthusiasmn to get back on it ,thanks man have a great weekend & your vr4 is the bizz
Mitsu life glad to have both platforms. My VR4 and my Evo 9. I love my VR4 because it’s nothing like em and being the flagship of Mitsu and totally underrated and underdog.
What do I like best about the 3S platform?... well, everything! The looks, the handling, the performance! I had a guy in a new Porshe Cayman sweating mine not long ago at the stop light. I was very flattered!
My wife is not a fan of mine. It kills her when I get stopped at the gas station or someone flies up next to me in traffic just to give me a thumbs up 😊
I’ve got a 93 sl automatic sitting in my yard right now, long term plans to figure it out in the future and get it to my liking. ✌️ I like your vids too
What I love the most about the GTO/3000GT platform is how easy it actually is to work on. It's only a matter of time until people realise the internet has been wrong and start buying these up
I definitely love mine. I see a lot of things I want to improve on mine but I get comments and waves all the time. People constantly telling me they've never seen one as clean as mine. I recently had to sell my eclipse spyder that I built over a 10yr span so having the 3000gt has somewhat filled that void. Anyway, keep it Miguel 🤙
I think I have a set of hood struts you can have. Can’t use them with my carbon hood. 4g swap is something that really should only be considered if your starting with a car that has no engine and trans. Sure you’ll have more room but the cost and effort to get to ~600hp is a lot higher than sticking with a good condition 6g
The 4g63 long block and bolt ons should run me a couple thousand. I see it beneficial only if the motor blew and I wanted to avoid rebuilding the stock motor. Pros and cons I guess. As far as the hood struts, shoot me a dm on Instagram! Would help a lot not having to worry about using something to hold the 50 pound hood lol
I own a 1st gen '93 3000gt, I got it running again 2 days ago, timing is off which isnt a hard fix she needs chunky oil, fuel system back in order. Overall the only issue ive been having is finding front end suspension for it, in Florida its hard finding a mechanic that isn't generally a crackhead so those parts went missing which has forced me to look at aftermarket bits. 138k miles, 7 owners before me.
I remember the RA concept. Even though it was a turbo diesel, it looked cool as hell and I wanted one. Plus, the 4g Eclipse concept was cool with it's hybrid drive train.
@MiguelDsm Remember, at the end of the 2g's life, people thought it looked too round and bloated. If they realized what they had, Mitsubishi would have been very different today. Mitsubishi always had designs ahead of their time, like the '89 HSR 2, which was basically used similar active aero that the Pagani Huayra is recognized for. I got a 4th gen GT manual as a daily, and after some mild oem+ mods to make it look cleaner (closer to the concept) , I'm pretty happy with it. But, it's not my '99 DSM weekend car. Maybe it's nostalgia, but that car is just more engaging. I think the 4g was trying to fill too many shoes at one time.
Great video bro! Keep up the good work. True very rare to see on the road. I own a 97 3K base model unfortunately but it’s a good starter car too like u said on another video. It was free with clean title so I got it running after sitting in a back yard for 5 years. Took about a year to get where it is now. It’s a 5 speed at least lol. Does get a lot of attention when I take it out.
In japan they made this in a awd automatic. The transmission probably wasn't the best but i would of loved to have seen a vr4 automatic version with a good transmission in the states. Although i love shifting gears there is something nice about just mashing the gas and going
There's a 1st Gen called the "Premier Edition". Has a STOCK wing like the new C8 Corvette. It looks like the HSX concept model. Someone sold it on autohunter if you're looking for it, (it's SOLD) the posting is still there though. It only went for $13,700. From the pictures, the original owner kept all the documents. It came with what looks like a special gold 🥇 pendant. For that price, the listing has got to be really old. It was a 1991 VR4 in Monza Red Perfect condition low mileage. The only difference I can see is the rear wing is slightly different from any other VR4. It looks like a 1st/2nd Gen wing. Like it has the outer edges of the 2nd Gen 3S wing and the center of the 1st Gen wing.
Love content bro. I just started to follow you. I love Mitsubishi's too but I detail cars for a living and you need a separate bucket and washment specifically for your wheels. Watching this made me cringe a little bit lol😂
I have always wanted to own a Mitsubishi 300 gt my family is a big American muscle and off-road family I never wanted to go against normal for my family I guess but I don't think I would be made fun of if I got a Dodge stealth😊 I can finally get one of those cars just with the Dodge badge
Thinking about buying one, but heard maintenance on the car is hard and little information out there, so im wondering if I should get an NA or turbo version
Miguel you not done with the VR for just yet.. time to get 1200cc injectors upgrade to arashi 20t turbos and run them on pump gas 18psi let the tuner have plenty to tune with for pump or future E85 upgrade..
I’m based in California and for about a year I’ve been searching for someone to rebuild my 6g72 any suggestions because I’m at wits end don’t know if a jdm engine would be able to work or if I’ll need the jdm ecu please help
Yo long shot but for the 420gay to do the head gasket would you recommend pulling the whole engine out(I already replaced all accessories) or just do it with the engine still in?
You can do alot while motor is in car but I would pull it. Not that much work, I had mine out in about 5 hours but makes life so much easier, saves your back 😂
@@sigvision4189 honestly what Im probably going to do, and Im going to save my ass some future hassle by having the head machined and some ARP studs for extra safety
@@kripbloodington8714 Then you can do all your mtn items like timing belt, water pump, replace rear main seal, oil pan gasket, etc. You would spend double if not triple the time trying to do all that with it in car. Then be mad when you realized you were 4 bolts away from just pulling the whole thing LOL

Hopefully in our lifetime

Same here man. Luckily we have the internet to connect with fellow owners and check out each others build progress
Hey brother What's cost of buying a clean one these days? And is it expensive to maintain I've heard that.
I could imagine this car being brought back in production and going against the R35 GT-R, Porches 911 GT2RS/GT3RS, and C8 Z06
In modern days I can see that. They wouldnt be cheap though. Maybe 50-60k for one?
My favorite thing about my stealth is the AWS, it is so fun to carve roads in. As a community we try to take care of each other ❤️.
Love the community
Keep pushing bro! Can’t wait to see more progression for your builds!
Always man. Its not easy but itll be worth it
I've been a fan of the 3000GT since the PlayStation 2 days on Gran Turismo 3. It's definitely in my top 3 dream cars I love so much.

block the coolant ports on the evo engine bro while it sits, its a iron block so, might rust inside and youll have blocked ports
Thanks for the tip!

definitely not a cruiser car, thats a mid size sports car. The Eclipse is a compact sports car.
