I would only personally add a few things to talk about Mercy. 1 is that Mercy’s movement is omnidirectional, meaning that you can choose any direction by either looking in the direction or by just jumping backwards on where you want to go to. And to add that she has a toggle that when her beam is attached to someone then she can fly in their direction without looking at them. Another thing you need to consider is how much her passives can stack onto eachother, sympathetic recovery + the support passive is amazing for Mercy’s survival and combine that with her crazy movement then it can make her really hard to kill. Then there is Valk, in Valk Mercy’s guardian angles cooldown instantly resets when you pop her ult, Mercy’s beam can attack to everyone on her team, she has constant regen, when she’s healing everyone on her team it stacks her sympathetic recovery AND her constant regen AND she now has better consistent movement. Finally she also has unlimited ammo in her ult and who doesn’t love a battle Mercy moment. Sorry that this was long, while Furia will still probably win in the who’s better tournament. I just feel like if your including all of her cards in paladins then I feel like we should talk about how well everything just synergies with Mercy.
Very good points! I didn't consider all those factors adding up! It's definitely hard to tell what is affecting you in game. Am I getting healed from my staff or passive? Who can tell? XD
Another thing with furia’s ult is it keeps any momentum you have when activating it This includes upwards momentum which allows her to reach places she normally can’t quickly or even just using it to get a bit more information on the enemy or to avoid a flanker
It's actually funny because according to the 2014 leaks, paladins were working on a design more similar to Mercy that would be based on the Global Agenda Medic but it never came out, I assume they canceled it because OW was ahead of them when introducing Mercy
That would make sense. ADDITIONAL fun fact, Mercy was actually going to be an entire type of playable character in a DIFFERENT game, but later got reworked into Overwatch!
"Furia puts the Battle in Battleangel" and then she has a Gundam inspired skin called Battle Angel. you should include Skins in these too, i feel like despite Paladins not having top grade graphics has really cool concepts and collabs PLUS most skins have a dedicated voice pack unlike Overwatch
I think one of the most important things about a support character is their ability to support in different kinds of ways, which is why I love playing as this particular battle angel. So yeah Furia takes this for me you make compeling points.
1:20 aren't Valkyries warrior women in norse mythology? Mercy is not a combat character though. Hell, the other chick is literally a warrior woman powered by the heavens, shes more of a real Valkyrie.
Maybe you can expend this series more than just OV and Paladins. What do you know about Deus Ex's Adam Jensen against the protagonist in Cyberpunk? Both have insane superhuman cyberpunk abilities
Supports in Paladins are much more fun to play and have so much more versatility. Almost evryone can enjoy playing support there. Cuz of how much the talent diff changes their playstile and they have many more ways to heal and so on.
