Ice might have gotten extorted and bullied, but karma got all those guys back and look whose living his best life while those who stole from him are in prison, sick, or dead. I'd say Ice came out better in the long run
Because he is intelligent and plans ahead and plans, plan B. Impressive really, because he was so young when his break happened.
Forsure.
yeah, good point
Long live vanilla ice
Once again, fate favored the white man. Funny how it always turns out that way.
I'm so glad you saved your money and invested wisely. You were one of the rappers that I liked before the genre turned violent. It's good to see that you're good with money and preserved your legacy for your kids.
Check your timeline. It was already violent.
He wasn't originally. He was on hard times for a minute. Blew the hell out of what money that wasn't stolen from him.
Became a junky for a bit if I remember right.
He does seem to have it going on today and I'm happy for him as well. Good dude
I read that MC Hammer lost his money and now just lives in a normal home. I always liked him
@@jk-76 Bro don't know about Park Side Killers or Rhyme Syndicate or you know... NWA? Dude's a poser.
This man's smile has got to be one of the most beautiful and infectious smiles I've ever seen 🥰
No, your's is
They’re called “implants”.

Drink some water you thirsty simp
there's no shame even if he was hung from the balcony, he was young, it was hard to mess with SUGE KNIGHT, now ICE is fine...and Suge...
Is suge being sexually assaulted in prison?
Suge ain't gonna get raped in prison. Probably still has some cred, but yeah he's in prison for manslaughter (hit and run) for 25 years.
Suge is about to become Sugar, stuck in the butt by a man named Tiny, who ain’t so tiny
@@catdaddy2643what goes around comes around. Karma doing its job.
Exactly. He's a thug and a loser.
There's the saying from Dark Knight, "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." With Ice it's kinda the other way around. Back in the day, people made fun of him and didn't take him seriously, now he's getting nothing but love. It's nice to see.
Villain Ice
Suge established dominance in the room with his armed entourage, intimidating VI into signing over a percentage of his record sales...for no return. So Suge didn't literally hang VI over the railing, but the effect was the same. What's interesting to me is VI's positive outlook about that experience, and about life in general.
He’s still mad you can see it in his face. He did not pay for Death Row lolol Suge spent his money on cars a women and probably drugs.
I have heard different versions of this story from Ice himself. In the 90s, he was on an ABC news show and narrated the story with fear and anxiety in his tone. However, in the following years, he downplayed the story, making it seem less sinister. While I understand that people tend to rationalize traumatic events over time, Ice's attempts to justify the ordeal as something for the greater good is a clear coping mechanism. The truth is, Suge threatened Ice and he had no choice but to submit. Even today, Ice may still feel humiliated and intimidated by the experience.
Who knows how things 100% went down. The only thing we know for sure is that Suge is a piece of crap.
@@pensiveczar2239 Your comment unintentionally reveals WAY more about you than it does your speculations about VI.
@@d4mdcykey You just told us a lot about yourself, as well. That’s how communication works, my friend. The reason psychologists exist.
You Sir, are the embodiment of Cool. Thank you for the songs, the Cool As Ice movie, the memories the coolness.
Go turtles go turtles go turtles go
I've always liked vanilla ice but that movie sucked 🧻
Technically you should be claiming royalties from all the death row sales, glad you're happy and well and can live you're life with dignity 🙂
Man that was a crazy story I always thought he was hungover the balcony but it's cool that he's able to take something like that and move it in a positive direction. If it's okay I'm getting strong armed by Suge Knight and his crew to create Dr Dre and The Chronic then I guess that's a pretty decent trade-off. Vanilla Ice is still doing well for himself and living comfortable and will be for the rest of his life
It's kinda cope. Dre could still have made The Chronic and released it on Ruthless Records if he wasn't such a B (female dog).
He has such a positive outlook and a solid dude. Oh and he’s super hot too 🔥
Thanks for clearing that up. I thought you got hung over a balcony for the past 30-something years. I'm glad it wasn't a true story.
I remember getting tickets to your show back in 1991 here in Ottawa, Canada. Everyone in my school was jealous because they could not go because it was sold out. I am happy I got to see you perform live even though I was really far back in the crowd. A few days after the show my Mom brought me to get a hair cut and I told the lady that I wanted a hair cut just like you. She replied that it was not possible because your hair cut was complicated and that you had people doing your hair for you. Then I said ok then, let's do an MC Hammer cut and then she laughed and whispered in my ear and said "he is black, it won't look good on you kiddo". The 90's were awesome thanks to you brother. You had a big part in starting up the 90's in a great way for music and entertainment. Thank you for the memories and good times!
You shoulda asked for the Bruce springfeel
Suge was a crook and went the way of most crooks
Exactly, you can only pi$$ so many people off before getting dimed on
Crazy part is if he wasn't so greedy he'd probably be a millionaire now instead of an inmate
He sure wasn't the football player some of these videos claim he was.
Suge got an attorney to draw up paperwork for the guy that wrote 9 out of 12 of Vanilla Ice's songs that Vanilla Ice was collecting royalties for. This guy is a compulsive liar. Smh
@@skepchicaSame attorney that drew up Tupac’s “contract” that was so laughably bad, Interscope had to rewrite it when his mother sued Suge and Death row? This is Suge we’re talking about, right? A man with a history of extortion and who IS actually a compulsive liar.
Actually know what you’re talking about before you comment.
Hey man, no shame... We ALL know why you were on that balcony, even if you weren't hanging off it... If you said no, Suge was the only one to walk back in... I wouldve signed too...
All intimidation. Suge wouldn't have done sh#!
Vinailia Ice still got it 2023
respect sir. I came up listening to Eminem, Tupac, 50 Cent etc. But gotta say with my mind today, having only listened to a couple of interviews of yours and gotten to know your story and mindset a bit better, respect you more than any of them. Thank you for being a great example to young people and for spreading positive energy. All the best
We were young at some point Rob. My dumb@ss got married at 19 and was divorced a couple years later. We learn & grow from everything in life. Love you to pieces Rob. 💖🙏
I agree, you're dumb.
Ive delivered food to Vanilla ice before went to that house in the video. Super chill guy. I always wanted to ask him if he had any real-estate pointers but knowing that he's a celebrity i thought he would appreciate it if i pretended i didnt know who he was an treated him like a regular human being.
The town I live in has a sign as soon as you get off the exit that says home of Rob something writer of Play that funky music White boy. Always makes me think of your song not the Wild Cherry one.
I've been enjoying your TH-cam channel last few weeks, glad see you're doing well.
What a great mindset!
lol his nervous laughter 😂 @ 1:56 😅😆
But WE all love you dude for allowing such a legacy to unfold with all your money.✊🏽
Ice looks and sounds amazing
That story of being hung over a balcony came from Vanilla Ice himself. It was in his Behind the music episode or one of those shows. I remember watching it and him telling the story. It's good that he can find the positive in his interaction with Suge Knight but it borders on victim denial and that's not right. Suge Knight was a menace and should never be written off as "I was glad to be a part of the rise of these other stars" in which Suge treated and exploited the same way. He just gave Tupac some money anytime Tupac would express concern about his financial situation. Same with Pebbles and TLC and same with a lot of others that exploited the artists they represented.
Ice Ice Baby ❤ I'm from Compton and my sister's and I used to watch your video alllll the time. Ice Ice Baby was played and heard alllll over the place. Thank you Vanilla Ice. Also, I'm 80's rapper T-Loc from Queens of Compton.
That's called a shakedown.
To be honest, I've got no respect for Suge or his so-called business background, the dude is where he belongs..
This guy is the best! What's ironic is that so many people have accused Vanilla Ice of being a fraud, when in reality I think he's one of the most genuine guys in the business! The kinda guy you could just chill out and bullshit with, or just have a beer and watch a football game.
Hey, you're alive ICE! You're the better Man here!
Not a fan of the music... but im a fan of the man. What a solid guy
I was 10 when I was jammin your song back in the 90s on my skateboard and roller blades, I'm 42 now. I even got my kids 15, 11 and 7 Jammin to your song Ice Ice baby. Your song aged very well. I'm also happy to see that you're doing very well for yourself after all these years.
I read that as..."i even go my kids 15", I read that as you've got 15 kids, I was like bro
I know I’m 43 and my daughter 12 and son 8 love ice ice baby
Im no expert in legal contracts but if you remastered you're albums again id definitely buy them all so you can benefit from them. As i hate injustice in this world. Reason why you have been my favorite rapper for years just love you're work brother
and now look where both of them ended up. That bully mentality only gets you into prison eventually.

You came to UNCW in the early 90's when they were filming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II - you were a super cool guy and I'm glad to see things worked out well for you.
VI still on point and still got it in aces. Congrats on the success and the many more to come! 🤟
Hi VI!!!!!
You answered my question from your other video about Ice Ice Baby, and being hung over the balcony by SK!!!
Thank you brotha!!!
Sucks you had to give him anything, but I guess if you didn't, it could have ended badly!
Either way, you are still a legend!!!
Cheers!!!

Wow! Thanks for sharing.
I went to Ice’s house in Hollywood Hills after his Cool As Ice Movie went out with my boy Deezer D who costarred in the movie and when we got to his door and his agent answered the door and said Bruce Willis and Madonna was there with him so I couldn’t go in his house because Madonna and Bruce Willis didn’t know who I was. At that point I never met Ice so sucks I could meet him because of them.
wild, ice is like: well........i got extorted, but on the bright side !!
Also forgot to mentioned i loved Cool as Ice movie ha ha. Had to buy it on dvd
YOU THE MAN ICE!
7TH GRADE FOR ME ICE ICE BABY ALBUM WAS BUMPING EVERYWHERE.
Much respect to Ice, he has come out thru the other side with with his dignity, pride, seems to be in great health, has continued success in his own way and I dig what he's doing today 👊🏾
Ice is living the good life and Suge is…..😂😂😂
Rob you sure did do that. Your money helped in the history of some boss people. What a story to tell.
Ice that's not an invest...thats a gank
Ice felt very confident under pressure in that hotel room with Suge, because he was wearing a DEPENDS undergarment.
Wow, that memory had to be dredged up from the crevasses of my memory bank. I totally remember that rumour now 😄🤙🏽
Great attitude to have. You handled it very well.
Well, Ice...he's locked up and you seem to be doing just fine so all's well that ends well.
I was just thinking about this for some reason.
We all go through some embarassing shit in our life. But he is in jail and you are not.
I remember this. The clip is from the Documentary called Facing Suge Knight. It aired on National Geographic.
Does such a contract even count when it was done under force?
Exactly
You the man ice!!!
Vanilla Ice SAVED the Gathering of the Juggalos in Oklahoma!!!
Rob always sees the positives in things. 😊
As a kid I took pride in being able to do the vanilla ice hand sign (where you bend your index and pinky finger while making a v shape with the middle and ring finger)
Damn. I never thought of it that way. If it wasn’t for ice there may never been death row and all the albums that followed
Heart of gold that's why he is still killing it. Let the bs roll of your back when you got bigger fish to fry.
Ice Ice Baby👻
Yo vanilla I'll catch you in rancho mirage on the 17th next week brother. Hey ice can you give me a shout out at the concert it's my birthday on the 17th my name is Eli I appreciate you been fan since that B side was flipped back in 1990 bud🥹👍 I'll 48 yrs old WOW how time flies.

You telling me that driveway gate doesn’t close itself? After all that and everything else.
Now that's humble!
He definitely got hung over the balcony.
he was coool as ice!
Love VI. Anything less than the best is a felony!
Suge Knight says...Alright stop, collaborate and listen.
Met him in real life! Super nice guy
Suge knight is probably cleaning his cell mates drawers right now.
1990 I think it was, i was 21, just got Married in Florida..... ahh the good ole day, i remember the rumours that said you lipsyncing to someone else rapping lol....
54 now and you still looking the same to me.
Suge night grabbed a hold of me tightly. I said calm down, don't throw me off this balcony.
vanilla ice seems like a really cool, down to earth guy who has sorted things out. people gave him an unreasonably hard time. glad to see he's doing well and is successful. and glad suge knight is in prison where he belongs.

Very positive way to look at that situation 🤙
Yet Rob (Ice Ice Baby) is chillin' and still living large and Suge is in prison and then will be spending an eternity in Hell 🔥
how you handled it is Great

All good. But in LA I can not think of a river flowing that would have ice in it. Saying that my guess is he meant it metaphorically because at that moment his blood was probably freezing in his veins

That's to the extreme!
Yo VIP let's kick it
You should have went to the police and fbi that Extortion
Funny enough, i found about Vanilla basically funding the start of death row from an A&E documentary on Vanilla Ice....or it was about Sug Knight....not sure. That was around 2009-ish 😂
The body guards either had to be in on it with Suge or were incrediably incompetent, either way Ice played it the only way he could and still survive
Them body guards failed for sure.
I'm sure Ice was thinking, if there's a fight, I'M dead too, sooooo....guys, can you just give me a few minutes alone on the balcony with Suge..?
YO VANILLA KICK IT ONE TIME BOOYYYYYYYYYY!!!
Ice was born October 31 1967
That means in 1983 he wrote the song . Rap just started to get popular with break dancing in 1983.
He was just about to turn 23 not 19 when ice ice baby blew up in September /October of 1990
So he was way older than us
@@MacNifty yep yep
He actually went after Eminem too! You and Eminem should do an album together "Yeah, We White!"
WTF????
I was really enjoying this
Wait a minute... Ice says in this video he never hung over the balcony. But in a video from many years ago he himself said that he was hung over the balcony... saying this with tears in his eyes. So either he was lying before or he is lying now. And I can't imagine why he would be lying now. So what the hell??
Never knew that, however Suge you are in a place you belong player!!!
Amazing. Founding father of the Row.
Vanilla Ice got the last laugh. Money comes and goes All those other fools are dead,in jail or broke. Word to the mother!
