Bill Gauvreau and I worked on the same floor of the Brooke Claxton building in Ottawa and as it turned out both of our families had a cottage on Golden Lake and we would often meet on Sunday morning at the 4 corners in Golden Lake village and take one car up to Pembroke for some golf. Lots of fun. A few years later I'm living in Burnaby and Octavian came out to New Westminster for a performance. My wife and I went out to see them play and later I managed to bag some tickets for the Canucks game and we accompanied the Octavian band to watch the game. Seems like it was yesterday. So Bill, if you see this I hope you're still playing and enjoying life. All the best, Alan Dillon
Great tune ..even after all these years it still sounds great. Octavian played my high school dance in Georgetown which I attended. Went out for a burger after and who shows up Octavian in a blue school bus for an after dance dinner...Octavian! Thanks for providing part of the soundtrack for my youth!
This band, is always going to have a very special place in my heart. They truly defined my teenage years back in the day, and they put Ottawa on the map for incredible local talent. Well done 😍
I will forever be grateful for discovering this wonderful song, for great radio stations like Oldies 1150 CKOC, and an awesome platform such as TH-cam for the happiness I feel when hearing this song.
What a great, great song....and it's Canadian. Really puts you in a great mood. I remember this back in my early high school days. Along with Good Times And Lovin' You, Make Me Do Anything You Want, Some Sing Some Dance. Man, we had some great Canadian content in the early 70s! Thank you Octavian
As a member of Octavian and one of the writers of this tune, I'm pleased that people still love it after all these years. Please be aware though that this recording is the property of MCA Records and the song is owned by UMPG. Please do not infringe on their copyright and distribute digital copies. It's killing the music business and artists who don't get paid can't afford to create new music. It really shouldn't even be posted here. Please support your local artists. Thanks. :)
Agreed. On the other hand, I am glad it's here though, or I'd of never found it. I've been trying to hunt down and LP but I've made a few requests to Jewel 88.5. Best station for classics like this, they play this one with a bit of regularity :)
I had this album and also belonged to a band in the early 80’s that had a recording contract, we also worked with the late great Micky Erbe!! Great arranger and lovely person!!!
Saw these guys many times in the 70s. Great band. Should have made it superbig! They were a big deal in Ottawa though. John P. was a great lead singer. Very charismatic. RIP John.
Oh man I was in grade 5 and the singer was a substitute teacher when they broke on the radio and I remember he taught our class for a day. I haven't heard these songs since then but I know them note for note. Thank you for posting them Mark.
Well done! Remarkable sound, far better than any I have previously encountered for this track. No pops, ticks or other surface noise. I would have suspected it's from a CD but I am sure none exists. I always loved this track but was no longer living in Ottawa when it came out. A wonderful, albeit somewhat now forgotten, piece of Canadian music history. Many thanks.
Not a problem at all Warren! Again i am very sorry! I did delete my post to Leah King right away, which i hope you notice. I would never want to infringe on copyrights :) Thanks for believing i meant well as i did :) Once again thanks Warren!
I am sorry! Not tryin to make anything from it! Just wanted to get other people from all over the world to hear such a great LP! Wish you guy were still recording! Again Sorry for anything i have done wrong :)

I do personally believe that you meant well and I appreciate that you love the music, but I'm only speaking for myself. MCA Records and UMPG as the rightful owners may feel otherwise, so free or not, please do not advertise to the public that you will make mp3 copies available upon request. Thanks.

Always had that bit of a Saga soundalike. I always remember when both Toronto's CFTR and 1050 CHUM was playing this tune.
They had three LP's. Great people and talented writers and players. Having a few more breaks, they could have gone a lot further.
Ottawa valley...1975
