Thanks for the Crit House. Great to see something useful and different in the photography TH-cam Genre that is not a gear review. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
After getting tierd from every channel repeating the same things over and over again I finnaly feel I got a channel to really learn from... I'm building a protfolio to some day be on your channel
Hi: I am a retired professor of Photography with a teaching career that spans almost 50 years. I, and others that teach at the university level, are career critiquers. We look at work constantly and give our opinion but also provide logic for why we think what we do. And that response is informed by the time preceding and, for most of us, a full immersion in the doing, the making of our art on practically a daily basis. For example, I had over 40 exhibitions during the years I was getting promoted at Northeastern University in Boston. So, my response is why don't you try a couple of career photography professors?
Neal, I would love to talk to you about participating on The Crit House. I have talked to several career photography professors. The response has generally been dismissive. Please email me through either thecrithouse.com or jefflarason.com. I would love to talk to you.
I really appreciate the effort you put into this channel. I have found the critique process of my work (limited) and those of others here have been invaluable. I can’t imagine the channel not growing exponentially
Hi Jeff I recently visit Salgados 'AMAZONIA' exhibition in Manchester UK and found his work absolutely breathtaking. Thank you so much for starting this channel, your efforts and commitment to the art is much appreciated ..
I'm having big troubles with book printing and would be very happy to hear more about the subject. My biggest issue is small batch (1-50) printing of Black and white images in book form. Every company I have used the images have a colour cast. I understand the challenges with printing gray-scale but there must be a solution. Thanks.
The photographer id be "tickled pink" and giddy with meeting would be Michael Keena. The BEST photographer in the HISTORY of ALL photography (in my humble opinion).
My favorite thing that anyone has ever said about Salgado is that he is “the Mel Gibson of Photography.” Salgado is a heroic figure among photographers for the formal character of his work but that’s got to be the least important thing about it.
@@TheCritHouse Sorry, my comment was intended to be a bit provocative. When Daniel Rubinstein made the comparison to Gibson, in no way was it intended as a complement. Rather, It was Rubinstein’s way of pointing at some the structural problems with Salgado’s work. That’s why I like the comparison. As a philosopher Rubinstein is willing to be critical of Salgado’s work, something that few photographers are willing to do.

Thanks Christine. She was with him at the opening and was clearly deeply involved with everything he does. They were great together.

Thanks for watching! Gear bores us.

Yaniv, thanks so much. We look forward to seeing your work.
Thank you so much for all your doing for the community
My pleasure! I'm learning more than I ever thought I would. This is so much fun.

Very cool. Thanks for the kind thoughts. I've heard good things about Amazonia.

Hi SB, we've had that problem as well. But I'm not sure we'll be able to help with the solution either. We'll look into it. Thank you

I would be the same with Michael Kenna. Your opinion is hard to argue with.

Thanks Douglas. I hadn't heard that reference about Salgado. He's in the pantheon of the greats.
