Which is why we need a LB of equal quality & that will keep Cancelo on the right & that's *Grimaldo*. Yes we have Baldé but the reason he's injured is due to overplaying as he had no real competition other than Cancelo. Baldé & Fort can rotate with Grimaldo & Cancelo • Barça should sign another left footed CB as we only have 1/5 CBs (Iñigo at least when he's fit & except for pace) that can meet the demands of what Barça want from their CB's & that's *Pau Torres*. • This way Araujo can compensate for Cancelo's defensive shortcomings & Cancelo can do the same for Araujo's when it comes to a foot race. Same goes for Pau Torres & Grimaldo. Araujo's not slow but Cancelo's faster & can slow the winger down so Araujo can double up. • Last & most importantly, Barça playing without a dedicated CDM is why Vitinha had so much time on the ball. With a CDM. Barca's can form a makeshift back 5 to match most teams attacking shape & have players further forward to close Vitinha down. The double pivot of Frenkie & Ilkay isn't effective defensively or in terms of keeping possession against top opposition. The same exact thing happened in El Classico when Bellingham scored the winner but it was worse because we had two CDMs on in Romeu & Casado. The former was too slow to cover the ground & should've made up for it with positioning but he's just not at that level. The latter isn't either but he didn't have the positional awareness because he's 20 & doesn't have enough experience at that level. Which is why it's imperatively crucial that Barça sign *Zubimendi*, as he's the last piece of our midfield rebuild & succeeding Xavi, Iniesta & Busquets. I'd also add *Thiago* on a free transfer. As he's better than anyone currently in the team at keeping possession & even though he's injury prone the pro's outway his one con. With Sergi & Romeu likely on the way out, Barça re-signing Thiago on a free, who's a year older than them & injury prone is still undoubtedly an upgrade. As what Thiago can offer on the pitch pales in comparison to the quite literally priceless knowledge he can impart on our young midfield. Whilst on the topic of L'pool players I'd love to see at Barça *Luiz Diaz* could give Barça the option of playing Felix of Lewandowski as a SS/AM but unless we sell i.e. Ferran, Ansu etc. I don't see it happening. People can say that City played better or dominated, but that isn't true. Ancelotti went in with the plan that Madrid would park the bus and play defense after getting an early goal. They'd let City control possession and just keep them out. Who cares if you make 1000 passes? If you aren't direct and dangerous with your passing, it's not going to accomplish much. The impressive thing is that Madrid is NOT a defensive team. They are missing their 1st choice keeper and center back pairing, plus having Mendy is always a liability because he's...Mendy. They were also without Tchouameni who is definitely the best CDM in the squad. The fact that they were able to keep City away from the goal as much as they did and forced the game to turn out the way it did is a testament to Ancelotti's incredible ability to manage a team and the players' desire to do whatever it takes to win. Real isn't known as an ugly, defensive-wall type of team. But if you want to win, you have to play the style that will outperform your opponent. That is the one thing that Guardiola doesn't do well in all situations as he just relies on his usual tactics - even if they aren't working. The team with more possession and chances lost, but the better team definitely won. Ugly win, but it was by design. That shows tactical genius and an elite level of determination. Guardiola is an incredible coach, but Ancelotti is the GOAT.

EPL as the new Farmers League is a complete joke. No EPL teams in both UCL and UEL semifinal this year. Manchester City and Liverpool's elimination were quite hillarious, as they had a good team and elite manager. On the other hand, the Bundesliga that lost its Farmers League had showed this with 3 teams in the semifinal, with Bayer Leverkusen looking for the Invincible Treble and Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund looking for the 2013 rematch at Wembley.
Ironically the two teams(Dortmund and PSG) with a history of bottling both made comebacks in their ties… to be fair, it was against teams who’ve had many struggles in the competition. Which is why I’m not hopeful any of them will take down Madrid should they make the final.
If City were truly the better team "on the day" they would've won it on the day like last year. I think too many people are watching the game through stat sheets and not recognizing that this was a top shelf defensive performance to MATCH what City was doing. They both played outstanding football, just one had to do it through grit and running behind the ball. Even Guardiola said "there's no such thing as luck". The champion team will always have "luck" but it has to come from their own doing. If benzema doesn't press Karius doesn't make a mistake and maybe Liverpool wins. He did press though.
The greatest hate watch of all time. FOOTBALL WON this week ! Barcelona lost Atletico Madrid lost Arsenal lost Man City lost it was a wonderful feast and I’m happy I witnessed it
Araujo's mistake was unbelievable: Ter Stegen was still on the fight for the ball, and even if Barcola managed to dribble past him, that gives Araujo time to recover. Not to mention, you're 2 goals up, even if he scores, you're still winning and can go for a third. It pisses me off especially cause Raphinha's goal had changed the momentum Barça's way
I wouldn't say on us, because the team as a whole performed well, even having chances with 1 man down which is huge. But the individual mistakes by Araújo and Cancelo were devastating. I agree though, the ref was right in every decision, even though it's frustrating

Araujo's thigh rams into the back of Barcola's leg, which is the contact which the foul was called for. Barcola falls down due to that blocking his leg from moving, thus tripping him at full stride. Not the shoulder to shoulder contact. Araujo could have no arms and it'd still be a red card. It is crazy how many of you criticize VAR but don't even carefully watch the replays yourself. It's clear as day in one of the angles and I know for sure a VAR official saw it within 20 seconds if I managed to. Edit: 4:18 okay so you do closely review these calls, you just don't for PSG because of bias. Something you need to work on.
alright i'm a real fan but i've spent most of my life as a neutral and have only become a fan of real Madrid recently bc I like what they're doing with their young players. after real got their first and I saw them sink back into defending, I said to my friends "lunins doing amazing but they cant keep this up" and I was right. i hate being right. but here's my take: I think that real isn't getting enough credit for their defensive performance. I know its not always the most exciting thing, but when I played as a wee kiddo I was a full back and I can appreciate good defensive work... and this is real doing it without a couple of their big defensive pieces ppl are quick to get on city for their lack of bite in front of goal and that's fair but also there was amazing defending displays coming out from more or less the entire real team and I think that's something that's very impressive and something that's not focused on enough really ever but especially in the modern game.
i started out watching a multicast of arsenal v bayern and real v man city but I could tell so fast that bayern was going to win, you could feel it and I eventually switched to just real v man city

As a Barca fan, I want a La Liga team to win this season. My best advice is don’t think you’ve won this champions league yet. I’ve seen a lot of people being so confident in winning it since they beat the favorites and the rest of the competition aren’t the greatest. But let’s be smart and just take it one game at a time. I mean Tuchel did eliminate Madrid with a Chelsea squad with less quality players. This Bayern team might not be as good as other seasons but any overconfidence and Madrid can be eliminated by Bayern.
All that domination from City and hardly any chances, the goal also came luckily, they had two or three half chances and that was it lol. All that possession just for the sake of it and they act like they deserved to win.
Can't really blame Jan Oblàk for those freak goals. How did you fail to mention the biggest chance of the first half? Morata 1 on 1, and he doesn't hit the target or work the keeper😮!!!
Much better is a bit of a silly statement. They were much more positive, thats it. More of the ball, more forward thinking and more shots. Real Madrid defended but defended extremely well. As Henry said: defending is part of football. City chose to attack, Madrid chose to defend, in the end Madrid did theirs better so they were the better side.
2022 -City scores first goal , they lost the tie 2023 - vinicius scores first goal city won tie 2024 - Bernado scores first goal , Real madrid won😂. Message is clear don't score first against Real madrid😂
When you try to describe a pattern, you should really write those sentences with the same structure. 22 - City scores first and loses 23 - Real scores first and loses 24 - City scores first and loses
Real created more big chances (3) than city (2). One of them being lucky from Rüdigers block, which ended up being a goal for city. Not sure, if keeping possession means domination, City can have it 🎉🎉

Gundogan threw Araujo under the table. It was a terible play, obviously. But so was Gundogan's penalty conceding attempt. Did Araujo go after Gundogan for giving up on the play? This locker room can't win. I might prefer Gundo over Araujo.

That penalty and a panenka are both cocky and genius when they go in but just look really awful when they don't. People are just giving him too much hate
Saying City dominated Real is like saying a person who punched a brick wall for 90 minutes dominated the wall. They had 2/3 possession but acheived diddly squat with it.

For the sake of banter, everyone's favourite teams won
Barca over PSG though
EPL as the new Farmers League is a complete joke. No EPL teams in both UCL and UEL semifinal this year. Manchester City and Liverpool's elimination were quite hillarious, as they had a good team and elite manager.
On the other hand, the Bundesliga that lost its Farmers League had showed this with 3 teams in the semifinal, with Bayer Leverkusen looking for the Invincible Treble and Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund looking for the 2013 rematch at Wembley.
Premiere League tears are so nice
Agreed. They’ve been so freaking arrogant for too long
Ironically the two teams(Dortmund and PSG) with a history of bottling both made comebacks in their ties… to be fair, it was against teams who’ve had many struggles in the competition.
Which is why I’m not hopeful any of them will take down Madrid should they make the final.
PSG didnt make a comeback, barcelona gifted them the win with the red card. Without that silly mistake by Araujo the game finishes 3-1 or 3-0 to barca
@@XLSpiral stop crying and know when to give credit when it's due.

Who cares what disgraced manager pep guardiola thinks about "luck"? Checkbook manager with stolen Checkbook.
The greatest hate watch of all time. FOOTBALL WON this week ! Barcelona lost Atletico Madrid lost Arsenal lost Man City lost it was a wonderful feast and I’m happy I witnessed it
Bozo
So no classic La Liga vs EPL Final and we have the Farmers League!
Araujo's mistake was unbelievable: Ter Stegen was still on the fight for the ball, and even if Barcola managed to dribble past him, that gives Araujo time to recover. Not to mention, you're 2 goals up, even if he scores, you're still winning and can go for a third. It pisses me off especially cause Raphinha's goal had changed the momentum Barça's way
I hate that most barca fans that I've seen keep blaming the ref this was all on us and no one else so I don't want to hear it
I wouldn't say on us, because the team as a whole performed well, even having chances with 1 man down which is huge. But the individual mistakes by Araújo and Cancelo were devastating. I agree though, the ref was right in every decision, even though it's frustrating

@@Fenix-lr6ez yeah that's what I mean on us because the individual mistakes were the difference it exposed that we don't know how to control games when it gets serious like Inter Milan last season
@@angeloreyes4425I agree with the other guy. Definitely individual mistakes not just on defense but there was one change where it was basically 3 v 2 in defense and lewandowski tried to shoot with a man in front instead of passing to his right or left where they were open. But overall the bigger mistake was the araujo challenge. We were up two on aggregate I’d rather he’d let him go and if he scores he scores but we still would be 1 up but with 11 on the field. 55 mts playing one man down was brutal.
@@angeloreyes4425 yeah i guess. It can be a casuality though too, I hardly see Araújo making the same mistake again. Cancelo is another matter
"city were better on the day" well thank god the tie is decided by both legs and not just the recency bias of 2nd leg.
How some people actually had Barca advance pretty comfortably and Real was getting eliminated is hilarious and feels so good right now lol

I support Real and Bayern but I was happier at the Arsenal lose omg that feels good. They act like they're one of the favorites while we all knew if they got out they'll eventually lose to the Madrid and City winner.
Barca falling apart right before El Classico is amazing
Ederson's bravery as a GK to take a penalty against Madrid 🙌

Now we could see Bayern vs PSG but with Tuchel managing Bayern.

Goddammit this year ucl quarter finals have been delicious, even more as a dortmund fan. HEJA BVB!!
It all went too well for Barca in the first leg, you just had the feeling they would find a way to screw it up, and they did.
Cursed team.
You're going to football hell for that intro.
Doomed to watch conference league forever!
This team is going to be the death of me 😂 but i wouldn't have it any other way ❤ Hala Madrid

Barcelona broke my hearr💔💔💔😓😭
Loving that Man City Guardiola rivalry with Real Madrid and Don Carlo, very delicious
The Gundogan call was never a pk. Good no call.
Love the content. With that in mind, you have to do a video for Europa and Conference semis.
alright i'm a real fan but i've spent most of my life as a neutral and have only become a fan of real Madrid recently bc I like what they're doing with their young players. after real got their first and I saw them sink back into defending, I said to my friends "lunins doing amazing but they cant keep this up" and I was right. i hate being right. but here's my take: I think that real isn't getting enough credit for their defensive performance. I know its not always the most exciting thing, but when I played as a wee kiddo I was a full back and I can appreciate good defensive work... and this is real doing it without a couple of their big defensive pieces
ppl are quick to get on city for their lack of bite in front of goal and that's fair but also there was amazing defending displays coming out from more or less the entire real team and I think that's something that's very impressive and something that's not focused on enough really ever but especially in the modern game.
Dier being in the semis as many times as Arsenal is hilerious.
always like watching these during lunch

the ref didn't check the VAR video once. Do you know how cocky you need to be to do that? To claim you don't need technology, you are the all seeing, the all knowing. That alone is enough
3 European giants and PSG 😂 we're all behind Dortmund right?
I knew Madrid won once it hit ET. City were mentally defeated we heard Rodri postgame they felt they should have won before then.
That’s why chances opened back up in ET and why we were able to edge them in PKs.
Trossard > Martinelli…
He’s just way more active imo. Better presser, finisher, shooter, and better runs off ball… Martinelli only is better on ball
It wasnt Araujos hand that caused the red card, it was his leg hitting/touching Barcolas leg

Morata 1 on 1, and he doesn't hit the target or work the keeper😮!!!
araujo also kicks him in the leg, its a clear red
loved seeing man city lose in that fashion, sometimes mourinho ball is the answer
Saka went incognito
Real Madrid deserve to win the champions league
In Fact the UCL should become the RCL(Reals Champions League)

Real created more big chances (3) than city (2). One of them being lucky from Rüdigers block, which ended up being a goal for city.

If only Araujo hadn’t gotten that red man… we’d be in the final for sure
Funny enough, even if BVB are struggling in the league and might end in 5th, they might make it to the UCL next year based off of the UEFA Country Coefficient.
Struggles of a BVB supporter…
Gundogan threw Araujo under the table. It was a terible play, obviously. But so was Gundogan's penalty conceding attempt. Did Araujo go after Gundogan for giving up on the play?
This locker room can't win. I might prefer Gundo over Araujo.

City were the better team over both legs and deserved to win, but the failure to get it done cannot be defended. Especially those two missed pens, which will haunt me in my sleep.
