I made this for my sister’s sister-in-law. It came out beautifully. Thank you Thom.
If anyone has trouble with the blanket dimensions, it’s an easy puzzle to solve. Use a 5th receiving blanket to cover the front and it will work. What I did was tuck the receiving blanket in the front where the headlights would be in an upside “U” shape (each point of the u needs to be where the headlights are (that way you are leaving room for where the headlights, grill, yellow lights and tow hitches are. Ok so once that upside down “U” is in, pull it forward a bit, leaving enough room to fold over the front edges of the foam board and tuck them in behind the 30x40 blanket edges. Then you can take the receiving blanket she recommends to cover the front of the hood and cover the rest. I hope this helps someone.

I made one of these for my nephew and his fiancés baby shower. They loved it.
I just made a pink version for a baby shower and it turned out so cute! Thank you for your wonderful video! It was easy and the pdf template was perfect and everything fit together so nicely. I can't wait to see how the mom-to-be likes it!

@@shannonblair85 looks like the wheel keeps it in place..for the extra length of the blanket she folded it under.. once the wheel is attached it holds the blanket in place.
Maybe double sided tape???

Yes and the animals for a woodland cake are a fox , a bear, a racoon and deer. I made your owl, the chopper, and then a boat, and a safari diaper cake. 3 of those from your tutorials !! 😊

Love to watch.. i.m from the netherlands and we don,t have everything you use. This cake is beautifull but what is the pricetag for this. I dont know what reciving blankets are?
Thank you! Not sure the whole price, maybe around $100. Receiving blankets are flannel baby blankets, very common here in the USA. they are usually 30x30 inches in size. The bigger baby blanket is muslin cotton and 30x40 inches.
@@OFallonMonkey someone said the 30x40 is too small.. Was that an actual BLANKET? Or did you just use some fabric??🥰 I’m gonna try to make this in a couple months so I want to start getting the supplies together..

Thom I noticed you said a 30x40 receiving blanket but the dimensions of the vehicle will make this too short. Im going to try a longer one with the given dimensions.

Does anyone else have an issue getting the main blanket on? I've made two of these and each time I struggle trying to figure out how to put it on lol I wish she showed us. The 30 x40 just doesn't seem to work for me 😔

I got a 30 x 40 b blanket and it want go all the way around the jeep frame you sure that's no 30 x 52
Hello Joe the blanket I used was a thinner muslin cotton blanket listed as 30x40. It was soft and can stretch a little bit pretty easy. if your blanket is something different it may not stretch around the front edges. That is ok too. You can tape it under the other flannel blanket that will make the hood. If you don't want to see any edges of the foamboard you can cover with the hood blanket or even use paper tape over the edges. I hope your Jeep will come out nice. Thank you.
