"Not everyone can become a great artist; but a great artist can come from anywhere."
I really like this line. Not everyone has the talent. drive, ambition, etc, to be great, but such people can come from anywhere in the world and any walk of life.
    Great reaction guys.

Ratatouille is probably my favorite Pixar movie. It may not be as recognizable as some of their movies like Toy Story, Monsters Inc, or Finding Nemo. But it’s just so fun and creative, and it has a really great message to it. About how people with extraordinary talents can come from anywhere, and to follow your passions no matter how unlikely they may seem to the outside world. The film itself is truly a work of art and it’s hard to believe it was made less than 2 decades ago. It’s so sad to see Pixar loose their creativity in such a short amount of time.

The dead rat shop is real! It is called Julien Arouze and Co., and the rat bodies are almost a century old at this point, having been first displayed there in 1925. They are considered "an emblem of the store," which is--as you might expect--a pest control shop in Paris.

A small but important detail. When Coulette was teaching Linguini the ropes, she mentions, “you think it’s like mommy cooking in the kitchen…”
Later, it’s the Ratatouille that reminds Anton of his mother, cooking in the kitchen, which may imply something about Chefs lacking that certain quality that Remmy understood.

Its hard to tell since we only see a couple of scenes in Anton's flashback, but I've always been a little curious about whether the old lady's house the movie started in was his mothers house. Wouldn't it be something if he learned to cook in that same kitchen?

As a french girl, I'm glad you liked this movie.
You misundurstood why Colette called ratatouille " a peasant dish ". In fact, ratatouille isn't considered as a gastronomic dish so normally it's not the typical dish you can eat in a restaurant like Gusteau's. Also, what Remy served to Ego isn't the real ratatouille but a " tian de légumes " (vegetables tian in english). The real one is what Ego's mother cooked.
About the rat killer's product shop, I read it's inspired of a real shop the producers saw.

The tragic story of Gusteau's death was inspired by the real life chef Bernard Loiseau, who took his own life in 2003, fearing he might be loosing one of his three Michelin stars. Michelin Guide was blamed for this, although financial problems might have been the real reason. The demotion finally took place only a few years ago (2017 if I'm not mistaken)

40:14 I was terrified to be on camera. I went to school for animation. But I followed a few people on TH-cam and wanted to do what they do. I started my channel as a way to get over my fear of being on camera. Now I've been doing it for over 7 years. My channel is still not very big but I have fun doing it. I still have to psych myself up before I turn on the camera many times but once I do I just go and it works out.

I don't know if you notice but he being a rat means he being poor, very poor so he doesn't have anything more than his talent.
So I think that would explain why the old women shot at them, why his friend is surprise that Remi knows how to read and prefers to have clean hands.
