  • The customer wanted two sago palms removed. "Sure," I said. "What could go wrong?" I said. If you ever wondered what happens if you try to pull out a pair of mature sago palms with a 4 cylinder, two-wheel drive truck, this is the video for you.

Who would want to remove a Sago that big? They grow about half an inch a year. That thing is at least 40 years old. Those at a nursery would cost thousands.

Exactly! But I think it definitely would’ve been around $400, not over a thousand

Man those sagos were big, every bit of 40 years old. They looked good, just needed some pruning- it’s a shame the homeowner wanted them removed. Probably could’ve been sold to a nursery for a lot of money

I was watching and waiting to see if you rear bumper snaps off.
This past weekend we had a Owner/Operator of Petaluma Stumps and Trees (?) grind the stump of our Twin Sago Palm Plant. I wish I had the chance to video the job. He had to return later in the day with his bigger RayCo Stump Grinder to pulverize it. I think he went 18-inches into the ground. I removed the stump debris and I think there is more stump deeper in the ground.

How would a chain have been better? I got soft straps so if they snap I am less likely to kill someone, myself, or my truck. Also, the road is dirt as well :)

Well, I don’t really get it why those had to be removed they were nice old specimens. They made a good frame to the that driveway. However always good to see your content. Cheers

It would be so much easier if you had a 2500 or 3500 or if you want to spend more money get a f650

Do you have to be careful with the root system? I want to try digging around mine or atleast really soak with water the day before and then give it a tug with my truck and spare tire method.
