The song is well written in the sense that you could definitely perceive it as being about a killer which in perspective it kind of is, but yeah it's about drug addiction aka the virus of life. @Jehan Ariyaratnam he overdosed as a youngen and his "friends" thought he was dead so they took his unconscious body which they thought was dead and threw him in a dumpster. He woke up thankfully and decided to try and turn his life around. He has had many addictions alcohol included. You should read his books or watch his interviews dude he has a very interesting story to tell.

The song is told from the perspective of a killer, stalking a person, and the killer understands that all humans are part of the problem. This means everyone has issues he plays on the stance of a serial killer and a rapist. so such a person has a complex list of issues inside them that causes them to be like that at the same time the victim has their issues too that enable such behavior. the line " I can see you but you can't see me" and line " I could touch you and you wouldn't even feel me" is calling out victims have issues too meaning they're so gullible without a care in the world that enable these types of behaviors. So, for a virus to thrive it needs to have victims that are gullible to it. That is why the song is called the virus of life. There's someone doing something to someone that is gullible that becomes victimized and the cycle repeats jst like a disease a virus finds a host that it exploits and then makes more viruses which then keep running the cycle. So, the song virus of life means it's people that are the virus of our life it's more on takes of how people can metaphorically be just like a virus. This could be the criminals.. the serial killers... the rapists...etc.. or just flat out people doing good old manipulation. People are going to do things in their own interest and not give a dam about you or anyone else. They will exploit you for their own personal gains.
