Haha you really do remind me of the fun camp counselor who's always in a good mood. Thanks for the lesson! You're great at concise and entertaining lessons.
You explained the solo the best out of all the others I saw. I needed to go slow with it at first because it's kinda tricky. Those pulloffs are at a fast pace. But I got it all. Thanks, Ryan!
Glad I stumbled across your lessons. Awesome job! Love the way you call the string name and fret # out on every change. Does away with the need to print tab sheets. Nice pace on lessons too. Keep up the great work!
HFW. It's a rainy dreary day in my part of the world. I look forward to getting home and trying this out. This song makes me think of Harvey Danger. I don't know why but it does.
When I pluck the string It only rings for a few seconds so buy the time I get to the end of the 2-3 on the B string it’s not ringing anymore do you have anything that could help me with that?
From the last significant 'old times' album, according to my very subjective musical perception. Inspired a basic track, me and a friend fortunately recorded back then, just weeks before this bloody day, that irrevocably ended those 'good old days', mankind seemed to improve for the better. Ach, just some insomnic, old fart talk. Great song, an even better lesson - as always, only recognized some years after its birth to the youniverse. Thank you, Sir !! Cheers 🖖
@@RyanLendt thank you so much. But since I developed a certain kind of larmoyance over the years regarding mankind's behaviour in general, it was not a personal tragedy that split "the ages" in before and after for me, but 'just' the incident, known as 9/11. Only a subjective feeling of a general demise since then, after the 90ies did appear to somehow enlighten mankind and pushing things forward. Again, maybe just a very special post-Cold-war european perspective. However, thank you deeply for your work and keep rocking youtube, as we desperately need real people to be around these days 😉🙏🤟
Your lessons are great, and I’m learning many songs. One request though. Any way you could add a complete playthrough in the beginning of the video? Massive help for idiots like me!!
thanks so much for being here JQ! I'm afraid I cannot do that, because then A) I wouldn't make any money off my videos (believe it or not this is how I feed my family) and B) I'd have to perfect the playing of all the songs and I'd only be able to put out one or two videos per week instead of five.
2/13/20. Drop E to D on low E string only. DAD on 6-5-4 strings. Parts of song play D open chord to A 7th-fret 1 finger chord down to G 5th-fret 1 finger chord, all 3 chords played on the 6-5-4(DAD) strings. The speedy lead and the entire lead is shown. Great lesson, Ryan! Did you figure all this out by ear? Take care, Ryan.
the very last part of my crazy plan (which I'm so grateful to you and everyone for participating in) is to play the pro-am with phil mickelson. I call it "The Road To Phil" (not in any way shape or form a joke)
Great video as always. Isn't it funny that when you're learning a new song, we take a deep breath and hold it during a difficult phrase? I'm not signing or talking, so no need for a deep breath, and It's not an overly taxing gross motor activity , so no need to hold my breath. But it goes away as the song flows out easier. Must be some sort of focused concentration thingy - strange though.
I know exactly what you mean - funny indeed! must be some rather random and non energy demanding left over evolutionary wires crossed up. For instance: I have one attached earlobe and one unattached earlobe (real fact)
along the same lines, why do we furrow when we concentrate? our brains are clearly not connected to our eyebrows (any more than any other part of our body of course)
Can’t believe this is from 2001.... just watched the official video..: sillyness squared. Can’t help but love this song. Have you done The Toadies-Possum Kingdom? It’s the kinda song that reminds me of what I miss about the 90’s.... simple songs with fun guitar/vocals and a dash of heart.
I don't know what that is, but if you request a specific song I'll put it on THE LIST for future consideration :) Make a new comment though it's hard for me to see replies
TURN BACK! DO NOT GO DOWN THIS ROAD! ;) Tell you what, I can't even listen to music anymore without figuring out in my head. It's exhausting, and the reason why I need silence sometimes.
Ryan Lendt when up close and personal at a show where I don’t know the words to any of the songs but one .... my brain had to do something productive .... I can’t dance... so counting it is!!
you'll find them sprinkled here and there (off the top of my head crazy mary...) but here's a turtle centric one th-cam.com/video/czzCUF0KZLM/w-d-xo.html my instagram is littered with them as well. My two longest-time friends Sylvia and Echo have shared my life with me for 27 years if you can believe that one... I intend to share more about them starting this summer as we are moving to a much more turtle friendly house (yep, we actually have to take that into account when making plans...)

Thank you for that PT :) I never went to camp, but I did have some great teachers. Your kind words make me think of them, thank you for being here.
Picked up my guitar and your video came out at the same time, I’m thinking the universe wants me to learn this one!
timing is such a powerful goddess :)

Great lesson Ryan, thanks. TO follow the segue into College Rock, can I request a bit of Yellowcard and “Back Home” please?

of course I did :) generally things are kinda done in a convenient way, which narrows down all the possibilities. thanks MM!
What amp setting did you use?
Ryan, guitar is one of the most fun instruments to play. What fuels your determination to play?

That definitely sounds like The Middle. All that's missing is a party house full of people dancing in their underwear.
don't worry i keep that in the basement
