  • I’ve been reviewing airguns since 2006. At some point you start thinking there’s nothing really “new” out there. The Diana Chaser certainly impressed me. Not because it’s not been done before, but I don’t remember it being done this well and at this price point. The Diana Chaser Combo is a great CO2 pistol, Carbine, and Fully Suppressed Rifle. What’s more is that it’s wonderful to shoot and has great accuracy. This one is a keeper!
Man it’s a great time to be an airgunner!!!

This platform is much better when purchased in the UK. It comes in black like the one in the video, but also Realtree camo pattern. The silencer is removable too so you can put it on the shorter pistol barrel. I keep mine in a carbine configuration with the pistol barrel and stock fitted. The .22 version does around 5.5 ft.lbs. with the pistol barrel and between 8-9 ft lbs. with the rifle barrel. I've taken wood pigeons with head shots at 25 yds with this with the short barrel alone! An awesome package.

      @mrbadx19 5 ปีที่แล้ว

not sure, but the pistol barrel is threaded, i think they use some sort of thread lock in the silencer and rifle barrel in the US. i'll wait a little to see if they'll sell the silencer separately, if they do, i'll get the .177 pistol, then have both .177 and .22 barrels, might have to get a .22 bolt assembly, can't be too much.

@@mrbadx19 it's not mentioned in the video, but the moderator can be removed from the rifle barrel and screwed onto the pistol barrel, but it requires some set up and strength, because of loctite holding it.

Hey Clint, I am trying to decide on the Chaser or the Airbug and also in the .177 or .22. Actually, I like both and like the Rifle Kit on the Chaser. Both are 129.00
Have you ever shot the Airbug and what do u recommend ?
Have you done any Mods on the Chaser?
      I appreciate any Info.
      Take Care

I just purchased this gun today! It's my 4th airgun. For $143 you certainly get a lot for your money. I bought the .22 cal and went through 4 air cartridges. Lots of fun!! I also purchased a 7 round magazine as well. In pistol mode it's a little loud but as a rifle the suppressor is VERY quiet.

I just received the Diana chaser kit I first used iron sights and I could. Hit right were I aimed but I tried the rifle but you can't see the sits the stock is to short so I installed the red dot sit well off hand after sitting in the site I really hit the target then I put on the stock I shot a 10 shot group won after an other in a dime size I am berry happy with this combo Tom Hartill

    Nice video - and gun!
Incredibly affordable, or at least in the US. :D
Had to watch the PA Insyder video of this one also.
Had many nice features. But the conversion was not that easy. Tools needed and all. Not really like the UX Morph 3X. But truly a nice and sweet target airgun.
Probably good to assembly your own preferred rifle combo with desired optics, and after that get a case that suits it and pad it according to your own requirements.
This one performed really nice. 45-60 shots depending on setup and ammo.
Meisterkugelns seem to be a good choice for this one (even they were a bad choice for the Sig Sauer MCX/MPX magazine system.). Always liked quality RWS pellets.
The co2 loading, with a built-in tool for it, was sweet. And the space in the grip for an extra capsule - great!
Awesome video Rick! Thank you! :)

Whether you hunt .177 or .22 is very much personal preference and greek parliament. The 22 hits harder, the 177 flies flatter. As long rifle both can and are used for rabbits, and both can hit head shots out to 50m. Maximum "hit a target" range probably over 100m but you'll be lobbing shots. Long rifle is looking at 8.5ft-lb and it can shoot that far and hunt small game.
Personally I don't hunt anything other than rats but this is a rural area and I know people who go rabbiting, and there are a lot of rabbits here. I've been shooting for, lemme think, 50 years. You need accuracy not an elephant gun, and the pellet needs to stop in the bunny not go clean through.

      @@jonasaras
Well, at first I had bad accuracy issues with the .22 but that problem is solved now,... The barrel must have had a bur on it or something because I scrubbed it hard with a wire barrel cleaner & now it's excellent.
The common weight for a .22 pellet is 14.3 grains & a .177 is about half that so the .177 travels faster but doesn't have the same impact energy,... The .22 just seemed a bit slow.
      I now have 2 Diana chasers :)
      I have the .22 AND the .177 & I love them both !
I have made some power mods to both & the .22 has picked up some speed & still does have the hitting power.
The .177 does really well with heavier pellets right at around 10 grains & that gives you a bit more hitting power than a 7.4 grain pellet.

I think you meant, you have it there as a long rifle. It can break down to a rather large full size target pistol, or be configured as a carbine with the shoulder stock and the pistol barrel.
    Barrel lengths nominal 210mm and 450mm (8.7" and 17.7") - quite long.
In all configurations it is best described as a pistol mechanism as the valve and wotnot is intended to fling a .177 out of the pistol barrel at 500fps, which is absolutely perfect for target pistol shooting (high end target pistols shoot 500fps) as this combines optimum velocity with the least spread and deviation. It will also keep it in the CO2 self-regulating window where it will maintain outlet pressure with little temperature sensitivity whilst also providing a very high shot count (more than PCP of similar size). 10m to 20m with ease.
As long rifle the velocity will go up by 100fps or more (600-650fps) with a slightly heavier pellet for greater range and less wind deviation. Tack driving accuracy from 5m to over 50m. Less shot count that from the pistol barrel but less fps spread.
Probably capable of competition, or just used for practise and plinking and humane vermin control (not pistol).

Rick, I watched you videos on the Chaser many times. I decided to purchase it in .177. I am waiting for my package and yes, I ordered it from Pyramid Air, and yes, I told them that I bought because of your videos. I have ordered supplies from them but this is actually my first CO2 air gun. I recently rebuilt a Daisy 717 and I also own a Zoraki. My other air guns were gifts from my family, an Akela in .22 and an AEA HP Carbine in .25. I really enjoy you explanations and keeping it just technical enough. Have you ever converted a CO2 to a PCP?

  • @MrBilld75
    @MrBilld75 3 ปีที่แล้ว

The most underated budget all around good shooter people rave about. And the mods, OMG! You can Frankenstein this thing with others like other Diana Guns like the Bandit, the Atermis guns, SMK and a bunch of brands use this same platform and the parts are largely interchangeable. There's a Diana Chaser and Bandit hybrid I like (Bandit upper in a Chaser stock and grip) which is also a PCP because the Bandit is PCP. The options are endless and the platform is so flexible that get this, you can even do .25 cal on a Bandit, with a simple barrel swap like you did (breach, barrel band etc. is included) all for a mere $75 Can. so even cheaper in the U.S. Where else are you going to get a PCP carbine pistol and rifle that accurate, that capable for under $300? Only an older cousin of this the Artemis PP700 (again Diana parts) is capable of the same for the same money or less.
Now you've just gone from a target shooter into a more serious hunting rifle. One that obliterates small prey and pests much bigger than mice, lol. People shoot Grouse, Rabbits etc. with them. That's what interests me about this, rather than a separate rifle and pistol good for everything, this does it all in one gun. The weight, for hunting and trekking long distances make it VERY appealing as a hunting rifle people and pest control uses, it's highly manoeuvrable in tight spaces and bush etc. and people use them like that a lot, believe me. Fast, accurate powerful, cheap to run cheap to buy, can run higher calibre, what's not to love (and people do love it)? Don't underestimate it's hunting ability, it's doing pass throughs on small animals in .22 and .25 cal and in .25 it hits hard. Mind you it's single shot in .25 cal, no mag. like on the .22 and .177.

Your bolt jumps up. At the tail of the bolt in the breech block is a rubber ball on a spring you can tighten to stop that. If the bolt jumps up and flies back it will release CO2.
Good parts but iffy factory assembly. When you get one, strip it down, clean and lube it properly, and reassemble it properly.
Whilst light enough for a child, it is not a kid's toy. It is an "air weapon" and needs treating with some respect. A pellet from it will penetrate.
That does not mean a child should not use it. Here in England it does mean under 14yo must be supervised at all times and that's not a numptie rule.

    Does the mag malfunction?

Yes, the carousel rotation doesn't go quite far enough. But it's simple to disassemble and file the carousel where it contacts the rotate-limit lug. Where in earth is the pellet gun costing less than $500 not needing an engineering degree and 15 years experience to use it? Anyway, that's all the magazines need.

I've run 1500 rounds through two mags, no problems.
If I recall, I mighta had a jam once before I made sure to seat the first pellet forwards so the skirt can't scrape
PS got two new mags from Pyramid, the spring feels stronger :) maybe the old problem has been fixed at the factory
