This song really sold the entire movie for me. I was grinning so much during this song and when they break out into a burlesque type performance it's sooo perfect!
Wonka would be an amazing stage musical. I truly hope they release a stage version. I've got so many thoughts of how this song particularly could be adapted for the stage.
The way it's designed was clearly with a broadway musical in mind. Just look at how the Gallery Gourmet and Wonka's shop are set up. Wide open spaces with interesting but not distracting backdrops. Add to that the choreographed dances to go with the musical numbers and all the typical musical story beats. A few things might need to be trimmed down (like the giraffe and the chocolate vault), but this is definitely meant to have a stage adaptation.

I've read somewhere that "Sweet Tooth" is Neil Hannon's favorite in the film. I love it, too... Actually, all of the songs he wrote for the movie, I love them all. It's like I'm listening to a new Divine Comedy song. Haha.
Even the one that’s not his, Pure Imagination, he reworked and it sounds like his!! Seriously to have as an identifiable sound as that, I can only think of Randy Newman. Amazing 😍
I am telling you this whole movie had some banger music and this is another highlight. Keegan Michael Key was hilarious in this song and even the villains did great too. It sounds so serious and comedic at the same time.
Love that Keegan Key is showing he can vanish into a role. Like, the dude has such a unique voice and face that I could instantly tell it was him, but once I got past that initial 'it's him' I only saw the corrupt captain of the guard.
Can't stop listening to these whole soundtrack but Sweet Tooth has been on repeat the last 2 days. Keegan Michael-Key's first 'I...do?' kills me every time. Think I'm going to see it for a 2nd time this weekend. Definitely didn't expect to love it so much.
Honestly, I think 300 would have been my breaking point. As long as it’s a variety of chocolates. If it’s just one flavor, it’d be a hard pass. I’d get sick of them after 20.

I know they are villains but they are utterly adorable, and this song is my personal favourite in the film
Ive always said
Not all villians have to be menacing or scary
They just have to have bad intentions
@@DavidDickeee although humerous, this is still a menacing song
I was hoping for much darker, menacing medley .
Not Slugworth, prodnose and Fickelgruber are cute
@@raf6213 Fickelgruber, at least. 😂
Easily one of the best villain songs I've heard. Perfectly captures the absurdity of the Chocolate Mafia. Such a charming song.

I'd love a stage adaptation of this
Funniest part this song is when he sings “well we’ve got everything you need” with that smirk on his face lol
And the wink lol
I agree
This is hands down the best musical bit in the whole movie, the scenery and actors really make it alive and entertaining
I don’t know about hands down. I think that argument could hold true for pretty much any song in the movie
@@OG_Helldiver True, I’m just a sucker for these types of songs I guess lol
