Because unfortunately you guys in Europe have a real understanding of what good music is and here in the United States we tend to like what every other a****** listens to but anyway thanks for loving guys like this they truly need your support
I'm telling you there must be something in the water in Lubbock that makes truly talented human beings. Terry Allen included among the long list great talented musicians

Terry's great as always, Davis is Mr steadybeat, Bowden's great on fiddle, Charlie Sexton on guitar - who I met when he was 12 filling in for Jesse Taylor and I think that's Glenn on bass. Mom and Dad loved them all as well. They had a copy of Lubbock on Everything when the vinyl was still warm, so to speak. Most of these guys are a big part of my life and music.
One of the best country songs ever written
Yes , I think so too !
At the very least its the best song about texas ever written, and if texas ever secedes, there’ll be hell to pay if this isn’t the national anthem
This was my dad's song. Miss you dad.
I hope you like it as much as he did. Terry Allen is currently in heavy rotation.
Yes Sir ... goddam right ... that's some Terry Allen right thar.
The singer/songwriters here (like Allen) are part of the love in my love/hate relationship with Texas.
This is Texas Gold. So good.
Music sung straight from the heart. It doesn't get much better than this.
Hop outta bed pop a pill in my head.Im in Ireland wondering why there's no comments on the great Terry Allen.

Well
I'm a high straight in Plainview
Side bet in Idalou
An a fresh deck in New Deal
Yeah
Some call me high hand
An some call me low hand
But I'm holdin what I am…The Wheel
'Cause
I'm panhandlin
Man handlin
Post holin
High rollin
Dust Bowlin…Daddy
An I ain't got no blood veins
I just got them four lanes
Of hard…Amarillo Highway
Yeah
I don't wear no Stetson
But I'm willin to bet son
That I'm a big a Texan as you are
'Cause
There's a girl in her barefeet
'Sleep on the back seat
An that trunk is full of Pearl…and Lone Star
(chorus)
So
Gonna hop outta bed
Pop a pill in my head
Yeah, bust the Hub for the Golden Spread
Under blue skies
Gonna stuff my hide
Behind some power glide
An get some southern fried…back in my eyes
(chorus)
An close I'll ever get to heaven
Is makin' speed up ol' 87
Of that hard-ass…Amarillo Highway

Is that Charlie Sexton next to Rich Brotherton?
First heard Robert Earl Keen's version, which is very good, but this one is great too. Slightly different vibes.
