    So true...we can have the finest teaware and teas, but none of them make a great tea without the proper knowledge and skills.

    Always love your videos, thanks for taking the time to make one. This is always a great experiment and this video reminded me that it's been a while since I last did it. As a side note, have you guys considered adding these basic cups to your tea ware range? They're such an important thing for people to have!

      I’m so ashamed I missed that and I love fountain pens. Now I’ll have to go back and watch for the Safari.
      Ayi! You are correct, I concur. How did I miss that, I’m claiming it’s due to a small phone screen. 😀

    Tea experiments are so fun! It really highlights the variation that can happen from one cup to the next.

    Thank you very much for this experiment video. Currently I do not have access to the recommended Tea Pot. However, I will try the experiment with a small clay pot that I do have. Take good care and enjoy your day .. Xx

    What is the name of the saucer that the clay teapot sits in?

    • @globalteahut
      @globalteahut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is called a "tea boat (cha chuan)" or "teapot dish (hu chun)."

    So i have yet to do this experiment but im thinking that the differences come from the temperature between each cup. That first cup is the "fairness cup" and and by the time the tea gets to cup 3, all cups should have different levels of temp, which effects taste/aroma.

    • @globalteahut
      @globalteahut  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. More than that, but yes. You can also experiment with/without the "fairness cup" by pouring from pitch to cup back and forth and then pour from the pitcher to a second, identical cup. That way, you will have one cup that has traveled through the pitcher and one direct from the teapot.

    • @jasonkearse9887
      @jasonkearse9887 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@globalteahut Ahh i see. Like having the same steep split between the pot going into a pitcher then a cup, and pot just directly into a another cup? I guess the more the tea travels between each cup the exposure to oxygen also effect taste as well

    • @globalteahut
      @globalteahut  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jasonkearse9887 Yes, many effects... All to be experienced. Temperature is most important though, as it is related to aromatic oils, Qi, etc.

  • @joeynuggetz
    @joeynuggetz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So since the tea is the same aren’t you observing the differences imparted by the cups? I won’t understand what causes changes from one cup to another aside from maybe temperature. I would imagine strength would be the same unless the first cup was left to settle

    • @globalteahut
      @globalteahut  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Temperature plays a huge role in this experiment. The aim of the experiment is to show how the tea "deteriorates" (or not?) as it touches more surfaces. Give it a try!

    Is there a way to know if sellers are selling real purple sand teapots, or fakes?

    • @globalteahut
      @globalteahut  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Challenging. You have to get to know the look, feela nd effect of the real thing. Fake are often glossy and clay is too smooth can be a helpful tip.

    • @randomperson2187

      chanting pines has a lot of teapots, and global tea hut also has a few, those are the only places I would buy them
