It's really so true. Society considers 18 an adult. But your brain doesn't stop developing until age 25. So early 20s in many ways depending on the person and their upbringing, can be just as confusing as a teenager. Being able to look ahead at consequences of actions is true maturity. I say this as someone who just blasted Monica in the 90s. I just couldn't see her side at all and we're the same age. But now at almost 50 I can really see how young and stupid you are at that age. Doesn't mean she is a victim. Just that this situation is far more grey than I saw it 25 years ago.
@Marie Hackett I definitely think she knew what she was doing and she knew it was bad when she was in the middle of doing it --- but she was definitely YOUNG. She's older now and she's trying to just heal and be a better person. She isn't denying it - she's owning it and she grew from it. I'm sure there are plenty of young 20 year olds who are in some bad affair with an older man who is a CEO of some company - it's just not the president and it's not publicized.
Actually she was twenty two. At twenty two I was old enough to have 2 children. It was her choice. She could have said no and she knew he was married. Sorry that the republicans and Kenneth Starr used her. Too me I believe she was going to blackmail or she wouldn’t have kept the dress. Who does that ! Why wasn’t it cleaned! That’s is disgusting period. She needs to be accountable for her own actions. Both of them Clinton as well. she was more than old enough to know what she Wass doing at 20. Sleeping with a married man...how does she get to play the victim here? Both are at fault, bill too but o is she. Confused at 20...give me a break.
Societal shaming? If anything she shamed herself by the poor choices she made. Look... I am not defending Bill Clinton in any way, shape, or form because being a much older man who was married and more importantly the leader of this country he should have known better than to mess around with an intern over half his age. But, no one is to blame for the choices Monica made except Monica herself. She even had a few other affairs after this Clinton debacle so who else is to blame for that? Let us be honest here because Bill Clinton did not make her do anything she did not want to do. She could have easily rebuffed his advances and walked away which is what a strong, independent, respectable woman would do but she was a lowly intern desperate to advance her career. Oh... and let us also not pretend Clinton was the first and only president to be caught with his pants down because there were many others who did the same. The difference is he was caught.

She bears responsibility, too, for going after a married boss. I give her a lot of credit for maturing, and Linda Tripp should never have put her in such a position.
She admitted that she targeted him. She wanted it. Sorry, but the responsibility is on her just as much as it was on him. He did not hit on her and make her feel obligated to comply. THAT would have been a man in power taking advantage. Her going after him was NOT a victimization. Twenty two year olds in the 1960s were married with children. We don’t get to say suddenly, TODAY, that they’re innocent children who don’t know what they’re doing.

Having watched Monica’s story more, just makes me realise how much it wasn’t her fault and how classy and kind she actually is. So many women have fallen victim to an older, powerful man, and as a young woman it’s almost impossible to see where it’s going to go or how to stop it before it’s too late. Especially when it’s the first time it’s happened to you. I think she’s an amazing person, and Bill Clinton was the one who definitely should’ve known better in every way.
Initially, I felt sorry for Monica for years. But truth be told, Monica targeted the President of the United States. A few years ago, she was identifying w the MeToo movement and felt Clinton should apologize. I remembered the thong incident and thought Monica might eventually realize that Clinton felt trapped. He realized his mistake in responding to her sexual come-on so wanted to end it. But realized that Monica's style was such that she would probably reveal to the press what happened. So he let the involvement go on, letting Monica think this was an affair but in actuality he was probably wishing she would disappear. It has been hard for her to come to terms w this. She nearly wrecked Betty Currie's career w her constant badgering. I am glad Monica has recovered from the painful embarrassment. She's a beautiful woman. I hope she matures fully to the point where she acknowledges she was primarily at fault. No, I don't like Bill Clinton. A serial womanizer and worse.

Early 20’s is a very delicate time for most of us. Consequences are not first in your mind at that age... I speak from experience.
Of course Oprah turned her down. She cant have a person like Monica undermining her Democrat leaders. Such BS!
Oprah didnt want to be on Clintons #$ list.
The Oprah who is so untrue and a powerful enemy of the truth when it will harm her standing with the rich and powerful.
She probably had to pay attorney fees.
Actions have consequences. Monica seems to think her actions do not and should not.
Am I the only one that loves her? This would been so different now that women have more of a voice
i LOVE HER!!!!!!!
Yes you're the only one because I don't care for cheaters.
@@TomikaKelly me neither or liers BUT we have all done mistakes in our twenties and we all have tye chance to amend our mistakes. PLUS "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.”
No I watched her Ted talk. Powerful. She didn't deserve the treatment she got. Who hasn't screwed up and especially in 20s with low self esteem. She's moved on and grown. So happy for her. On a note, she was sitting next to me in NYC at a cafe. She's gorgeous now and has aged beautifully
@@TomikaKelly she didn’t cheat on anyone dear, the one married and lying about the infidelity was the president, don’t forget that!
Oh god, can she stop milking this. Literally.
If she didn't keep rehashing it then she'd have no purpose if life...how pathetic.
Give over you denied it now claiming fame. Not nice no ones interested goodbye
Frustrated with this, “oh, she was young!” she is old enough to get married, drink, drive etc. If she had murdered someone, would you still hold the same views? I doubt it. She got caught, and wrongdoings have a consequence, and one of those is you will be shamed, live with it. Why is she opening this stuff up again as there is more important stuff to deal with. To get such a high profile job alongside him, you can't be stupid. She needs to apologise to his wife and child as she crossed a line.. - no sympathy here, I’m afraid. As for Clinton - gross too.
My sentiments exactly!!!
What she lacked at that time was emotionally maturity. I made a bad choice to get into a very toxic relationship at that age and now that I’m older, I now realize what was missing in me at that time…the ability to make good emotionally mature choices at that time, I had no idea it would have such a profound impact on my life down the road. I was very shortsighted.
Clinton was twice her age and he was the most powerful man in the world. He should have shouldered the majority of the blame. I was in high school when this story broke. Monica was bullied and ridiculed. Nothing happened to Clinton.
Exactly! I feel the most Sympathy for Hillary and Chelsea 😢
Come on 24 year old teasing older man..No innocent child here
For sure not an innocent child. She was 24.
TEASING?? They’re both at fault. But teasing?? He made a decision too lol
She was 21 when it started , brain doesn’t finish developing until mid 20s.
And yet she keeps it going, and going ,and going
Sounds like she is still ‘in love’ with him. He got what he wanted, he has moved on. He is a predator, no shame, no remorse. Can you imagine what Chelsea must say about all that? Geez dad, I thought you were working?
Yeah I thought this was yesterday already
That's what Billy liked about her.
“the truth is stranger than fiction” rarely has there ever been a better example than this!
If someone told her in like 1999 that the world would be on her side in 2021, she would have laughed
Why do you think the world is on her side? Bizarre.
We have to be careful there's a difference between the me-too movement and two adults that decided to have an affair and that's what Monica Lewinsky situation was she knew exactly what she was doing when she did it she wasn't forced to do it it's exactly what she wanted it didn't end up how she wanted it to nonetheless it was between two adults
@@Klisa888 Exactly. Commonsense but respectful point of view.
Monica trying to make some money 💰
She should just brand and sell cigars.
She gonna bag it for sure. WD Monica.
Good for her! I hope she make a lot.

BINGO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is ALL about the MONEY for HER ............ Sooooo OBVIOUS
An affair of two consenting adults. Ask the public to apologize for dragging you and not him.
The public yes but even more so the Media that infringes people's privacy
Apologize for denying it?
Why wasn’t he held accountable? He was the President and twice her age.
Its strange that even now she is the one who feels shame and has to apologise. Where is Bills shame?
Just look at who he's married to? He has no shame.
on TV because she's so ashamed...right.
@@lisagoodin2959 telling her story doesn't make her not full of shame. Ever heard of a cautionary tale. Also, she was a 22 year old intern, he was the president. Clearly, there are some power differences.

@@lisagoodin2959 I’m pretty sure if you watch again you’ll see that she was on TV to promote a TV show… I’m not sure what the point you were trying to make was but you may have missed the purpose of the video. So much judgement in these comments. She's apologized countless times. This is just about telling her side of the story.
She was immoral and without couth. So was he. Bad examples. Ok, move ON.

I remember that time in the 90s when all this took place and her name was synonymously on every tabloid & SNL. She looks beautiful! I’m glad she was able to find & claim her voice.
The Media can be very cruel really
I love that you have come through this with such grace. Don't know you, but I'm proud of you!
She always had the power she could have said noooo from the moment she new what he was doing from the first day she met him. Come on she is not a victim she new very well.
Linda Tripp told her to, pushed her into it, then recorded all conversations, for a book publisher, and republicans,, it was all a set up
Give it up Monica, you admitted to pursuing him, strategically wearing specific outfits and colours to get his attention, bending over to reveal your g-string... don't try to spin the narrative now to suit you. You pursued an affair with someone when you were old enough to know the consequences of your actions.
No one owes you any apologies, own your actions and take responsibility for your part.
I'm sick of this girl appearing
Exactly!
You arw right, but have you never made a mistake?
@nooshns2448 it's not about making mistakes... Monica is trying to rewrite history to claim the victim card and avoid all accountability for what she did.
She clearly has not gained anything from therapy over the years and I guess Hilary was spot on correct when she referred to Monica as a "Narcissistic loony toon".
I always felt bad for her. She was a naive young woman and pretty much had her life/career ruined while Clinton walked away like nothing happened. Glad to see she's in a good place.
No one forced HER to DO the DEED ...... Wake up !!!!! She WAS a "consenting ADULT" at the time !!!!!!!!!
One is just as guilty as the other. No apology's neccessary!
She had an affair with a married man! They should BOTH be shamed for it. I did some stuff in my early youth but never crossed that line🙄 They both just need to take responsibility and move on! But that's just my opinion💜

Young? She was grown. She made a poor decision. But she sure looked like she had fun standing upfront in her little beret. She wasn't a victim, but she got used because she went public with her private business. Start the clock again for 15 minutes of more fame.
@Sara Mill Well sure, only because she plagiarized Michelle Obama’s speech, was the first “First Lady” to have posed for nude photos and turned Jackie Kennedy’s beautiful rose garden into something out of a horror flick. 🙄
She was a grown woman who push herself on Bill ,she is no victim
I was too young to be conscious of this scandal but the documentary that aired a few years ago I found so captivating. I really empathize with what she went through. The only difference between us and her is that her missteps during early adulthood made worldwide news. You can see it still pains her to this day. I hope she continues to find healing and happiness. I'm glad she was able to play a role in the development of the new series. It should be an interesting watch.
@Ron K the one to talk...!
I was a 12 year old living in Russia when this happened. That’s all people could talk about and years later whenever I hear Bill Clinton I think of Monica. I am happy she was able to pull through and reclaim her identity. She seems like a lovely woman and deserves to be happy.
I am more interested in this hearing Monica is a producer. I didn’t know she was involved at all and was worried whether she was down with it or not.
Yeah, Ryan Murphy said he would only do this if Monica comes along as a producer.
