Hey Everyone! thank you so much for watching. I plan on making a part 2 to address some of the additional questions I have been asked. Hopefully will be out soon. You can ask me more questions and I will aim to answer them in the next video. Thanks guys, take care! :)
Heyy there, i would like to know what did you do during your medical elective like was it hands on like could you do history taking, physical examination and stuff or was it just mainly observations?
Hey!! thank you for watching! My medical elective was a clinical observership so it was a lot of observing and not too hands-on. During my rotation in ENT, I was able to do ear examinations (otoscopy) and use the nasal speculum a few times. As well as attend surgery. 😊😊😊
Can you share the university hospital that required an elective fee please? Because my uni requires me to complete it in a uni hospital. Thank you for the informative video and good luck!❤
Hey! Thank you so much for watching😆. You can get out of an elective whatever you want really. I know some people go to particular countries so they can network. That way in the future, they will be in a better position to potentially work in that country as a doctor one day 🥰
Hi, absolutely fantastic video. Thank you for sharing this information with us. Could I ask what have you claimed through the nhs elective bursary: dual Accommodation, visa, administrative fee etc.
Hello, thank you so much for watching. I believe you can claim the accomodation, visa and travel costs, though I personally am still awaiting this. Hope that helps and sorry for the delay 🥰
Hey! Thank you for your comments and thank you so much for watching! \ So the breakdown of the costs are... - Elective/hospital fees: 2000 AED (£447.74) - Flight: £561.68 - Accomodation: 11,896.29 AED (£2,633.90) - Food&toiletries etc: I’d say about £800-1000 (unfortunately I didn’t keep track of things precisely but I think roughly about this much, which included eating out and ingredients to cook) - Visa: 900 dirhams (£194.76) So altogether around £3900 My elective was all funded by myself. Hope this helps!! ☺☺☺
Hey! Thank you so much for watching. I stayed at First Central Hotel Suites/apartments. It cost roughly £2,600 for the whole 6 weeks. There are several hotels and apartments in that area. I just went for the most affordable at the time. I really wanted somewhere with a kitchen and washing machine , so I'm sure that contributed to making it more expensive 😃
Hey, thanks for the comprehensive video!! Can you share the email of the department for clinical attachment? I’d like to email them to get things started.
Hello, may you please share the email you contacted, because they are not answering me back on the whatsapp chat and I need to arrange an elective for next month. I m short on time!
Hey! Thank you for making such an informative video. Is there a way I could contact you via Instagram or Email? I have a few questions about the elective. Thank you, Elada.
