It may have taken you a while, but at least you're Heddon in the right direction. I was there in January 2016. There were many floral and other tributes. I had never been there before.
In 2013 the spot was still quite empty of bar terraces. Looking forward to coming back in 2025 for the David Bowie new and permanent???? (I hope so) exhibition in V&A Museum.

I was there and you can still feel the wonderful energy of Bowie, it was a great time.
As a Bowie obsessive at 12, it took me 42 years to get there Mark, so don't worry mate, so long as we got there❤️❤️
Look under the Ice bar canopy. that is where the phone box that the Album pic was taken . now removed . However the other phone box was always there .
