I guess this answers my question about the receiver and servos handling the 3s voltage. I used a DC to DC converter to get the 8.4 volts for the receiver. I would recommend the APC 5X7 prop for even better performance.
Good to know you have successfully tried this. Most change the prop out first, to a 5x7, have you thought of doing the same? I would think it would make the most of your upgrade.

Just got a 3s for mine. Flys like a whole new plane! Way more power. Doesn’t feel so heavy and sluggish in the air now.
Can I know what kind of battery you used? Like can I get the link
@ if you’re comfortable soldering a plug on a lipo the battery I used it pretty solid
@@scott14oh57oh I don’t know about that but I can just get a converter
that thing rips

Yes as a matter of fact I have been thinking about that.. ground control RC has done that
Thanks for the video on 3S. Subbed. Has there been any issues since flying it on this 3s battery?
No man.. no issues.. both the XK 280 add XK 300 work on 3s.
@@tooleyzrc1973 thanks for the response. Waiting for mine to arrive 😁
Stock motor and esc ?
And did you switch the connector on the lipo or were you able to find a 3s with that stock style connecter?
Yes. Stock everything. I'm using Ovonic 500mah 3s 30c with red jst battery connector. They pop up right away in your Amazon menu.
