Awesome video, not demanding very deep knowledge but going very deep into it nevertheless without messing around!

Thank you, yes I thought I'd give my opinion on some more simple voicing ideas

I am so glad I stumbled across this video! I'm just a generally interested pop/rock hobbyist with basic theory insights, never having had to do with horns. Still found the main messages easy to follow, despite the efficient speed, and this really opened the door to some basic logic of a whole new instrument section for me. Possibly applicable outside horns as well.

Welcome aboard! You might also enjoy the one where I discuss major chords with more pitches.

Maybe with chord examples like this I could record you some long notes on every chromatic note of all the instruments I play and you can use them like a sample and mix and match. Then you can play any chord by all of the instruments I play. You could to that with a bunch of instruments then that would help with all of your examples.

Thank you Alex, for doing this basic introduction of voicings for horns. Well and clearly explained. My favorite chord was the last one ;-) Reminded me of the piece "Three seconds" by Oliver Nelson (sextet including Eric Dolphy) th-cam.com/video/YmJzaLrQNgQ/w-d-xo.html Do you know it?
There are so many possibilities to place the notes and to interpret a given voicing. It seems a lot of the arranged voices have to be interpreted with respect to context (root notes, melody, song key, preceeding and subsequent chords).
    Best regards Peter

My pleasure Peter. Thanks for your comment. Thanks for the link, I really enjoyed it. Yes context is everything really. Voice leading, style, rhythm etc contribute so much.
