I know this is sooooo much later than when you posted this comment, but I have this theory that everyone has their own individual relationship with time and most people haven't discovered it which is why I think people often feel "time just gets away from you". Those that have learned to have a relationship with their time, find ways to "be its friend" and in a sense actually slow it down. I dunno, I'm also stoned 🤣. I mean, perception IS reality after all.

well that’s fine if it’s your local theatre company, but as you get older and go audition more professionally, it’s always best to stay away from songs that are in the musical you’re auditioning for
Came back here to watch again after seeing "The Six Triple Eight" - I gasped when I saw her in that movie, like is that Dorothy???? Such a talented actress...hope we see her a lot more
She came into this with such big shoes to fill. After all, Stephanie Mills iconic performance of Home is, for many of us, the pre-eminent rendition. Later attempts have been met with a skepticism at best and contempt at worse (yes, I'm looking at you Diana Ross) Shaniece Williams did not disappoint. In fact, she created her own, craveable iconic version. I've listened to the stephanie original a million times. It may be the novelty of having a Fresh version on par with that, but i find myself choosing to this rendition now when I wanna hear Home. That is so very real to me.
I wonder if one day in the future people will look at this and finally give it the recognition it has alaways deserved! I'm still mesmerized this is not considered one of the greatest musical theatre performances of all time!
Why isn't She a Superstar???? Either in music or Films??? Or Both???? I just don't understand the industry. But none the less she captured this moment and captivated!!!! Such a stunning performance!!!! Just Brilliant.
For some reason.. I listen to this song minutes before the near year.. for years now. I really hope I get to play Dorothy one day soon 💓happy new years lovers of the wiz 🎉!!
Everytime I hear “if youre listening, God, please dont make it hard To know if we should believe the things that we see Tell us should we try and stay or should we run away. Or will it be better just to let things, let them be.” I just lift my hand up and sing that to the Lord. Because honestly for the last 5 years of my life, this has been my cry and prayer. My dreams mean so much. And it’s hard to know if I should give up or continue chasing. Just feeling stuck. Anytime I hear that line, it feels like I’m in a dark room with only a spotlight pointing at me, and I’ll look directly at the light, just hoping and praying my spotlight will one day light up the room.

Where there's love overflowing
I wish I was home
I wish I was back there
With the thing i've been knowing
Wind that makes the tall glass
Bend into leaning
Suddenly, the raindrops that fall
Have a meaning
Sprinklin the scene
Makes it all clean
Maybe there's a chance
For me to go back
Now that I have some direction
It sure would be nice
To be back home
Where there's love and affection
And just maybe I
Can convince time to slow up
Giving me enough time
In my life to grow up
Time, be my friend, let me start again
Suddenly, my world's gone
And changed It's face
But I still know where I'm going
I have had my mind spun around in space And yet, I've watched it growing
And if you're listening god, please, Don't make it hard
To know if we should believe the things That we see
Tell us, should we try to stay
Should we run away, or would it be Better just to let things be?
