Beautiful Trip by Overnight Ferry in Japan | Kagoshima to Yoron

- I took an overnight ferry from Kagoshima to one of the beautiful islands in Japan. On this route, two ferry companies alternately operate once a day. Today's ship is Queen Coral Cross, operated by Marix Line.
*Important note
These small ports in islands are often affected by waves. There is always possibility that they change the port or cancel the schedule.

Reminded me of the hotel key in Florence. The key itself is standard size.. but the keychain attached was the size of a saucer .. and heavy to boot. I think its to encourage guest to leave the key with the front desk when we go out
My daughter and I watch these together and that is what said when we saw the key.

So beautiful. ♥ This brightened up a kinda crummy birthday immensely- those beaches are beyond stunning. And the gloomy day on the gorgeous island was SO pretty. You gotta appreciate gloomy days for their beauty as well as sunny ones, doll! The beef hash actually made me hungry though- lovely comfort food, looks like. Thank you for sharing, as always!! ♥

I really like how the cabin had a back-rest opposite the table so you could sit on the bed and watch something on laptop / phone / tablet. Very efficient use of space. I like that.
Thanks for another cool ferry experience. Yoron looks like it would be relaxing to stay for a while, with the blue ocean and interesting coastline.
It's never a good idea to watch your videos on an empty stomach. LOL. At least this time, you got a key to the room. I think this ferry was more geared to cargo and cars rather than passengers with such short dining times. Still, it was better than the last one. I love these small islands around Japan.

Loved the trip. Was especially nice to visit all the islands. As for the sea, the color depends on how light reacts with the water . . . nothing you can do about it. Your room was very nice, the bed looked comfy. When I saw that your 3 pieces of chicken and some hayashi uneaten, I was worried. But luckily it was just the lack of rice and you took care of it. Couldn't believe the breakfast and lunch hours, they were incredibly short. All in all, a really enjoyable trip. See you in the next one. Take care. 😊

I'm enjoying this video a lot. That bed looked super-comfy. And that thicken karaage you showed after getting the large rice refill the first night, looked like a round little dinosaur in profile. This ferry seems nice. Not too huge and crowded, but not a ghost town either. Just right. Also, the sea at Yoron is still blue, just deeper and softer in shade than in full sun. it's periwinkle instead of sapphire or aquamarine.
Golly, that dinner serving looked godly. Nothing goes better than rice with sauces like hayashi. Miso soup I can only dream of having, and the salad looked like it had a lot of cabbage, my favourite and goes super well with rice.

I loved this trip! The scenery was gorgeous. Room and (lack of) amenities seem kind of skint for "deluxe 1st class", and the restaurant hours seem rather inconvenient, but I guess if you know what you are getting into, you can plan for it, and put up with it for the lovely trip. Thanks for taking us with you!

Yoron reminds me a bit of some of the less populated Caribbean islands I have been to such as Grenada or Grand Turk. And on the last cruise I took I actually did manage to inadvertently order a pizza delivery on the ship (from room service) just before a magic show, which greatly amused the performer. I thought I was ordering only a slice, but ended up with an entire pizza.
Even though it wasn't a very bright day, it was still very beautiful AND you got a key! I call that a win!
Im becoming addicted to these videos, love traveling with you and seeing and experiencing what is available, it just ended too soon, I would have loved to see more of Japan countryside and the island on your landing. For our history we Australia's have a special friendship with Japan but I don't speak the language so how do you know what is actually on the menus as the images can be deceptive. Thank you for sharing your trip with me, I thoroughly enjoyed it 🇦🇺

Looks like a nice cabin on this one, other than the hallway lights messing with the camera it looks like a great trip. I might have to look up more on Yoron island, guessing it's more of a local getaway? Thanks for the video Solo, always enjoy watching your travels.

would seem deluxe might refer to your own bathroom - remember this a ferry not a cruise ship

As always loved the video and getting to love Japanese food. Plenty of variety. Must check out some Japanese restaurants in my country. Chopstick may be a problem though.
Flicker is of course caused by some ships being at 50 Hz with others at 60 Hz. Yours was at 58 Hz! So a generator was running off. It can be removed - or at least made totally watchable - with the use of software. Enjoy your videos, keep it up. Rob in Sussex UK.

Ah Solo San. My friend if that is a First Class Deluxe CABIN, I hate to tell you that you have been taken for a ride. Empty fridges, empty boxes in where there should be product....SHEEEESH!
