    Chris Hedges is an incredible orator and scholar. This is probably his most prescient and scathing speech about the state the USA is in.If only I had the ability to put this speech on every television in America.
    I can't believe this speech is 4yrs old.
    It is still 1000% accurate.
    Hedges is a brilliant man.

    • @Bisquick
      @Bisquick 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Agree wholeheartedly with everything, _except_ I just happened to see this other -speech- sermon by him last night and I think it's even more scathing (some borrowed segments from this) and, to be blunt, _properly fucking so_ :
      th-cam.com/video/wticfZcYjeQ/w-d-xo.html
      But yeah, I uh..."enjoy"...(seems like the wrong word lol but I think you get it) going back in time to see how inevitably accurate all the predictions made are. We're truly screwed unless we get it together and like yesterday. No idea what that means of course and there inlies the problem but I think in the choice of "socialism or barbarism", the path of barbarism has been selected already, and not by us...
      This is a prediction I hope to be incredibly wrong about of course. Let's make it wrong! 🌹
      _I saw it written once that the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting the outcome to suddenly be different._ _I am finally ready to stop this insanity._ _Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let's try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well._
      _The communist creed: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need._
      _The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed_

      Know what? It is for people like him that I cannot hate America. I am German, I have no lecture to read to anybody, but that's not the point: The people in Chris' crosshair are actually about to desinfect this planet of all life and turning it into a flaming smoking burning ball of shit, as George The Great put it. And sometimes I wonder whether it isn't exactly that what they want. They seem to be so obsessed with harmageddon it seems the can't wait until it all shoots up in flames. We have to fight them, whatever the cost may be.

Honestly, i do not trust " our allies " like Germany , UK , France , Italy ..etc they are constantly attacking US politics and US system , while they do not have anything better .They are NOT paying their fair share of 2 % of GDP to NATO . We the USA are paying for theirs security and we are paying for cleaning other countries MESS !! WHY ?? We have some major problems inside of USA, like growing homeless drug addicts population , ILLEGAL immigration, entitled new generation expecting to get free stuff , attack on freedom of speech , growing size of government with uncontrol spending of taxpayers money . and using scare tactics to increase taxation of working people and especially hard working rich . Canada merely has become a passive observer , not nearly subjected to the constant onslaught of pre-planned killings , shootings, the FBI trained & schooled terrorists , many which are mentally diminished individuals, and on and on . Events that most people can't begin to believe governments would allow and plan to further political agendas. School shootings, for example, have evolved since Sandy Hook was pushed upon America , with unquestioning complicity by major media , as a real event which it wasn't by any stretch of logical observation . Clearly it was a drill that introduced local authoritarianism to use the power of mass deception that shut out criticism and scrutiny that would dare to question this event . Yet it obviously was just a drill with hired actors . Wolfgang Halbig asked all the right questions that threatened to expose this massive lie that his family was threatened if he didn't stop. There are many people threatened with the loss of careers if they step out of line , which is why Paul Preston came out to confront the truth since he was already retired.
      A former Superintendent of LAUSD cannot be easily dismissed. The Las Vegas shooting of Oct. 1 is another massive cover-up that saw a Saudi assassination attempt turn to massive failure and also included fake dead counts . That the media coverage claims this to be the largest mass shooting in history, didn't even get mentioned on the last 2 anniversaries. Where are the victim interviews, or lawsuits ? Go try and find one Sandy Hook lawsuit ?
      The White Helmets win documentary awards---totally fake . This is a tragic symptom of a populace that has surrendered inquiry and failed to demand answers to basic questions .

      I think that we’ve reached a point in human history where the issues we face are so many and so complex that the average person just can’t deal with it anymore. Also, there’s very little, if anything, that the individual can do to change anything. Corporations in conjunction with governments make ALL the decisions that matter
      Also, I should say that I don’t know why Hedges is giving this speech in Canada. Canada is not a leader but a follower, mostly of the U S and is, therefore, of no real significance on the world stage

      If you keep voting the way you are, the more the voters are complicit with the imperialism of the government, the government that puts sanctions on other countries, killing thousands, and forcing millions out of their homes and countries to become refugees that over run other countries, and that come to our borders so we can abuse them again. We are the aggressors here. How many Venezuelan Bombers or Syrian Bomber are over our heads? How many Iranian gun boats are off of our shores and threatening our ports? The answer is zero. But we are in their air space and off o their ports and restricting their ability to trade with other countries. We are the ones in their faces waiting for them to make a move to protect themselves so that we can blaster them for no other reason than they want the resources of these countries. Want the progressive promises fulfilled? vote for the Green Party and its platform to support the people. With the DNC we have Corporate Socialism, and rugged individualism for all of the rest of us as we have lost our jobs, lost our health insurance and finally loosing their homes all due to COVID-19. Please take a look at the Green Party and Howie Hawkins, the Green Party Candidate you have never heard of because of a biased media that supports only the duopoly of two parties. See www.gp.org and see how it matches with your beliefs.

    My wife has.more than 20 years as a cake decorator working for Walmart now for 3 years making 11.75 an hour and she has demanded a pay raise but the management ignores her time and again. With such a criminal wage sanctioned by the gov and Congress we habe to pay car and house insurance, water, electric, property and HOA taxes, food, medical, and clothing, cat expenses, etc..But they require her to do a professional job. The song to which we all are singing, the pheromones that we lost fills the atmosphere , our individuation deferred we are resigned to mope in the dope of consumer addiction, an indistinguishable nonentity within the hive we suckle on the pheromones and reiterate the same, emitting and accepting, amplifying the unspeakable while denying the same.
    The abyss is this way! Ready on three , one , two, and ….. see you really want to be the one to say three don’t you ?
    I am tired my Lord , I told you that so many times but you never lifted this weariness from me but except to want to make me seek this sleep of sleep the more . I am so tired my Lord I just wish to sleep please don’t make me dream within that sleep to be anything or something that currently I am not for I am done with dreaming. Done the pheromones are the only thing I breathe in and out my inspiration and my exalted pronunciations upon my out going breath that to a breathless state I must.
    That is the unspoken that no-one can bring themselves to admit! We are seeking oblivion regardless of the “joy de vie” we may otherwise say! The sugar envelope we daily swallow. If it were not so then we would be more energetic regarding our life’s trajectory and the vanity of our paradoxical love which is consumptive and participatory it is all we hunger for not this agape love that is only just an unrealised transformation to which this world within its collective perception within its six senses could provide a parental affirmation to that we are anaesthetised, for that , we are tired we can no longer in enthusiastic go dreaming about a dream.Not know or ever more,,,,

      You try giving an hour to have talk in front of an audience without making any errors. Hedges was talking about the numbers of law enforcement assassinations in the United States and as he was giving those numbers made a speaking error. It's not a substantive error about the subject matter which is the important thing .What is the of calling that out? ...then you try to make up for it by giving a little praise about a subject Hedges is intimately more familiar than you are. That was your comment and this is mine.

    People are not being left behind. They are falling behind. America is becoming an ever increasingly technologically driven society and people are failing to put forth the efforts to keep up.
    Gone are the days of a high school dropout getting a job at the car plant making $25.00 an hour tightening lugnuts.
    Only 12% of U.S. adults scored in the highest literacy proficiency levels, and only 9% scored in the highest numeracy levels.
    While 52% of Americans score below the minimum literacy required for coping with the demands of everyday life and work in a complex, advanced society, and successful secondary school completion and college entry

    Hedges is off-target holding Stack up as a hero for flying his plane into the IRS building. Stack was not poor, not by a long shot. He had IRS problems but the IRS is very, very easy to deal with. Your state tax authority is more likely to be difficult. Stack was a relatively well-off, ideologically motivated Tea Party type.

  • @johnellis7614

    IN THE BEGINNING, there was peace in heaven as everyone was good natured with a grateful conviction that life was a gift they did not deserve. A grateful desire to own only enough for a comfortable life and to give all you could give to those slower of thought. The moral fabric of society being to have a compassion and give charity in a way that best produces a grateful response.
    Than in due time the question arose: As God rules over heaven and receives glory, honor and worship because of his infinite knowledge and intelligence, what would be wrong with everyone being like God to those less intelligent? Why not have everyone desire to compete for wealth and have the glory and power of wealth in direct proportion to intelligence?
    So, to prove the harm in it, earth was created with the vast majority of humans given an ingrate conviction that life was an unalienable right, which gives them a desire to be enriched upon the misery of those with less education, less wealth or less whiteness of skin.
    And so, in every nation on earth, always has the more intelligent upper-half of society hoarded all of the land, wealth and political power.

    • @lynlee6861
      @lynlee6861 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Life is an unalienable right. God gives life.
      Success is more dependent on the individual. But a society with morals, key word morals, plays a part in helping the individual.
