I noticed that the tone was subtly yet markedly different from that of her EN trailer...it's interesting to note that people in the comments of the EN section said that her trailer sounded like a 'villain origin story' and with good reason. EN Ruan Mei is cool and collected, possibly even sociopathic in a manner that mad scientists who are obsessed with their research was. JP Ruan Mei, on the other hand, is wonderfully subtle, like her musical instrument. She sounds more like a child trapped in a grown woman's body, yearning for both days long past (of her childhood with her mother) and for a desire that she couldn't explain (she phrased it as 'a longing/yearning for something fundamentally pure'). You could hear the immense loneliness in her voice, the disillusion when she's talking about her research. A prodigious child is still a child, after all. And I do love how the phrase 'AEON' is censored in the subtitle/closed captions, unlike how it is namedropped in the EN trailer. I think Ruan Mei wanted to be an aeon because she thinks it would give her the answers she seek (about her own heart's desire, which she is confused about and could only describe as the longing for something pure) and maybe...a cure for her loneliness and alienation, too. Such a poetically beautiful trailer, generally speaking. I would pull for her if I have the jades (Argenti ripped me off).
Westerners today have as the core founding principle of their civilization the Holocaust, which is why they're trained like dogs from birth to accept dysgenic concepts that slowly lead to their demise. The fact that they bark like well trained dogs at concepts of genetic engineering is only a testament to the proficiency and prowess of the social engineering skill their new leadership has enacted on them for several generations since the end of the two world wars. There's no need to take them seriously on any grounds regarding these concepts which a Chinese civilization has no qualms with entertaining in their cultural products. I highly doubt it. Most Aeons are not even evil, and I doubt she will ever become an Aeon. It's not something you can become just because you want to become one.
@@DiamonDust I didn't mention Aeon tho cus I also don't think she'll achieve that. I meant in her pursuit of it, she's very clearly someone who's willing to do questionable things for that knowledge. The trailer here gives a deep insight into the gray area she's willing to delve into. It's a good character intro to help better understand her with clear hints of her motives. Now whether or not she ends up being an issue in any way, we'll see soon enough. Maybe not even intentionally against us but ends up reintroducing the Tazzy and screwing things up for us. Ngl, that'd actually be pretty cool imo

Also her show of indifference to life as she says its colorful but has nothing to do with her interests. Even in previous references of her from other people seemed to imply something similar. In fact, in the previous 1.6 update stream, Screwlum even outright foreshadows this with an ominous line about her during that interview section with Owlbert till the latter cuts him off stating thats spoiler territory. Again, I never said she'd be evil or anything but that I feel her indifference to others will end up causing major trouble
The moment I saw her, I knew I had fallen. Ruan Mei is the most beautiful woman I've seen in HSR. She gave me such a peaceful feeling, and watching this ascended me to heaven.
