Our holiday cruise on the Rhein was a highlight of our stay in Germany. We looked down on the Deutsches Ecke from this castle. Wonderful view, never to be forgotten. Great marching music.

I marched to this music in the old SADF when we had an army to speak of....en nou ? but then all things come to an end and so will this lot that we now have in time ....you can not stop the wheel turning ....forward comrades-- forward !

Schönes Video. Dieser Blick auf das Deutsche Eck kommt mir bekannt vor. Ich war dort mal auf der Festung Ehrenbreitstein. Man hat von dort einen wunderbaren Ausblick auf Koblenz.

Marching music - one of the things the Germans are good at. They have done some nasty things in their time, but I admire the way the youngest generations built their country from scratch, - and made it into a model democracy.
Yet every European country excels in something, most of them in more than just one thing. Austria, Holland, Spain, Poland, the Scandinavians, Britain, Portugal, France, Greece, - you name it. Oops, i almost forgot Italy, Switserland and Ireland. And Hungary, Finland, Bohemia and the Baltics :-) We have all contributed to that wonderful facbric that is our West European Culture.
Yet to the outside word we often stand divided. If only we could appreciate and esteem each others contribution and learn to live with our differences. We have relatively natural resources, but we do have the brains, the traditions, the talents to be a global superpower if we pool our resources. I do hope that the oncoming generation will stop our petty squabbles and live up to the fundamental values of our great, diverse yet shared European Culture.

Formidable-----J'étais moi même dans la musique militaire ,de Garnison à Metz--------16-mois.Défilé à Verdun--Belgique -Luxemburg et surtout à Metz Même. On étais quand même 124 Musiciens + Les Deux Chefs.-----Philippe.

Y con esta marcha se abrian las exhibiciones gimnásticas que se celebraban todos los dias 1º de Mayo en el Estadio Santiago Bernabeu de Madrid presididas por el General Franco.Lo afirmo porque he participado en un par de ellas allá por los años 60 del pasado siglo.Con el paso del tiempo también aquello desapareció aunque era un espectáculo magnifico.

Perdon por in tentar mejorar la data, pero esta macha alemana, anterior a Hitler, pero su preferida, fue intercambiada con argentina por la Marcha de San Lorenzo, marcha que ejecuto el ejercito nazi en su desfile triunfal de ingreso en Paris y que es usada en la actualidad por el ejercito aleman. Aca ha sido utilizada principalmente por la infanteria de marina en su version para desfile.

ESTA MARCHA ...LA DEDICO EL EJERCITO DE LAS SS AL EJERCITO ARGENTINO...EN AQUELLOS AÑOS....
RESPONDIENDO A AURORA PÉREZ. Coincido con élla en descatar que Alte Kameraden es una bella marcha militar, mientras que el espectáculo del 1º de Mayo en el estadio Bernabeu de Madrid, presidido por el dictador Franco, solo era la fantarria que acompañaba a un régimen fascista de naturaleza criminal. La marcha que abría aquella fiesta, no. Era solo música, buena mísica. Lo del Bernabeu solo era la máscara festiva de un régimen malvado. Descanse en paz (el festival, no el dictador)
