- Watch my full bus journey from Udupi to Mumbai by Vishal Travels' BharatBenz sleeper bus. The bus starts from Mangalore and then come to Udupi. There are a total of 3 Vishal buses that leave daily. I had booked the afternoon one as my friend Ashwath was driving it. This is a detailed lengthy VLOG where I try and capture most of the journey. The beautiful Yellapur Ghat and Navami Hotel for dinner at Dongri (KA). This was a really smooth bus journey from Udupi to Mumbai. Especially the sleeping berths are very comfortable. The driving was really smooth as well. Aarif Anna, Ashwath and Sachin were really very professional and very friendly as well. I ate with the crew as well. Got to see a lot of overtaking on Mumbai Pune expressway even overtaking Shivneri bus. I thoroughly enjoyed my bus trip from Udupi to Mumbai and look forward to more trips with them. Awesome work mate. Reminded me of my childhood when I use to stay awake whole night watching those roads while traveling on Mumbai- mangalore route,seated in front seat to the left side of the driver.
I used to do same!!! Before the B7Rs ( I stopped taking the bus before the B9Rs arrived and have been driving this route since 2001) , it used to be drivers cabin that I would always sit. Drivers would change/ sleep, but I would stay awake the whole journey especially towards Mangalore. The return journey to Mumbai would be a sad one ( end of school vacations) hence , would be on my seat.
Those days it used to be the Cheetah or Viking chassis . CPC , Manish , Ghatge Patail used to have ACGL / Tata Coaches
Even in the B7Rs ( guess it was CPT that introduced first on this route) , I used to stay awake whole journey and it used to be front left aisle always

I have enjoyed the bus journey from Mumbai to Mangalore since 1990, that time was completely different sitting in bus cabin enjoying driver jokes, enjoying hindi, kannada songs, watching movies in the night and day and while coming from Mangalore to Mumbai would be very sad during the end of school vacations.. at that time I vividly remember buses name viz. Madhura, Dwaraka, Manish, East west, vishal, canara, canara Pinto, CPT, Ghatge patil, navami, sagar travels... I always enjoyed the bus ride especially Mumbai to Mangalore belt that feeling is still there since kid which can't be expressed in words. Those days in 90s it used to take 24 hours for the journey. Buses used to ply early morning, afternoon and evening schedule...Everything was great 👍..

Hi there, jus a quick clarification, has te management of vishal travels changed, as far as i knew it belonged to a mangalorean family and one of the partners was Vincy, they only used to do mangalore bombay and mangalore bangalore routes. Their dippo use to be at nandigudda mangalore.

Many years ago I was travelling to & fro the place that I mentioned above by Konkan Tourist & before that I was taking buses like Dattaguru Travels & Sequiera Travels. I am missing those days, I want experience again the same thrill. So just let me know. Please, it's a request....
Taken me down memory lane when I used to travel by Vishal, ideal and Mahabaleshwar travels from Bombay to Suratkal when I was studying in Aloysius college from 1986 to 89.
Same route I travelled so many years back. Vishal, Canara Pinto still operating. Don’t see ideal and Mahabaleshwara travels.
I distinctly remember seeing deer, wild elephants and peacocks crossing the ghat section around the dense yellapur forest. V good video.

Bro I had the same question in mind while going kolhapur near to Belgaum to manglore in the 90's and ahead there were a lot of Canada pinto sagar and ideal ,vishal tourist travels but I don't see any ideal bus right now more of ganesh ganesh buses are plying but not Ideal tourist buses don't know why.... I wonder so.... 🤔🙄

The toll after yellapur is not Kalghatgi, it's Hubli-Dharwad bypass.
