HSE in Ireland is the acronym for Health Service Executive. However, I understand that the same acronym is used in various trades in different context. I hope no employer in Health and Safety industry would engage in a massive recruitment drive to hire more than 2,200 professionals through a single campaign.
Hello,I already selected for Limerick university Hospital and still processing is ongoing...is there still embargo in Limerick Hospital. They didnt gave me yet official Offer Letter.
It has affected every single hospital under HSE. Some hospitals have requested for exemption and if they get it granted from the national regulatory body, they can recruit. Best wishes.
If you have a valid reason for the change of employment, it is possible to change employer. You need to apply for the critical skill permit under the new employer as your previous/existing employer will cancel the current permit. Best wishes

It would be ideal to have a job while applying for an overseas registration and attending interviews. You can get the registration done with a gap in work experience. They might ask for a valid reason for break/career break (it is a common scenario in Ireland, as many nurses take a career break for various reason). Best wishes.

I got selected in govt hospital, still waiting for my offer letter for the past 5 months, it this worth waiting? And please tell me about the DL renewal process, Nmbi is not responding my mail
I don't think there is a process to renew the DL. If the validity is expired, youust restart the process orlook for an exception. NMBI has given a special consideration to extend the validity for a short period of time. I am not sure if it applies to the application made at a later stage. However please read the updates on NMBI website for further information to check for any changes. If I get any updates or valid information on the same, I will keep you posted. Best wishes.
If you have completed your nursing training (General Nurse) in UK, you could apply for a recognition of your training and registration here. If you are trained outside EU, please follow the directions for overseas registration. If you are practicing in the UK for a long time, please make sure to write to NMBI/ check on their website to see if there are any considerations. Best wishes.
Yes. But you must complete another course in an year to keep working/ renew the work permit in Ireland. Further information available on our previous uploads. Best wishes.
Hi bro , my nmbi is in processing.. I have biggest concern with my experience.. I have privious 2 years exp in 750 + bedded hospital..but currently since one year working in PHC ( primary health centre) less bedded..is there any problem during recruitment time ,i mean after my DL ..?? It all depends on the demand for work force in a particular area/speciality. If they require someone who is currently working in the same area/speciality; it is assumed that the candidate an be orientated and get integrated to the system without a long induction and training. However, they will consider your previous experience along with the performance during the interview phase. It's all about convincing the employer to hire you to meet their service requirements. Best wishes.

It depends on the speciality you are interested in. If it is critical care areas like: Emergency, Theatre, ICU, HDU etc. the employer might look for candidates with 2-3 years of work experience in the specialist area, so that they could employ them with minimal training and orientation. Best wishes
Overseas recruitment kuravaanu. I suggest Irish job sites, LinkedIn and Irish recruiters for finding opportunities in logistics. Make sure that the applicant is eligible for a work permit while applying for a position from NON-EU country. Best wishes.
I don't know about an option to renew it. However, you could write to NMBI and they will guide you accordingly. They have extended the validity for a limited period after the COVID. I am not sure, if that rule is still applicable for the new applicants. Best wishes.
Aiswarya, at this stage employers are looking for experienced candidates in HSE hospitals as they cannot recruit anyone due to the embargo. They need well experienced nurses who require less training and mentoring to get themselves integrated to the healthcare system. Usually they prefer specialized experiences in OT, ICU, ER, NICU for at least 2 -3 years prior to the interview. However, you could applying for positions in nursing homes. Moreover everything is based on your knowledge and performance in the interview. If the employer is convinced that you could do the job, they will offer you a position. I highly recommend you to look through the current opportunities on Irish job sites or on LinkedIn in to get a fair idea on requirements (work experience, qualifications, specialized experiences etc.) before you apply. The registration process (NMBI) could take up to 6 months at time. Prepare yourself in time so that you could grab the best opportunity. May God bless you to achieve your dreams. Best wishes.
The cost effective solution is to gain experience in India and look for free recruitments. It will be easy to migrate as a student (if it is financially viable). Best wishes.
I would suggest you to look for opportunities in private healthcare services (private hospitals or nursing homes). If you cannot get interviews in the meantime, this would be a better option. You can change job/employer after 2 years. Best wishes.
I think there are certain laws and regulations imposed on this category. Please read the following article published last year for more idea. www.thejournal.ie/hse-recruitment-2-6060806-May2023/ Best wishes.

As long as the employer hasn't any strict criteria about this, you should be fine. Getting a job in nursing home is another option.
