Nothing more sublime than hearing this magnificent music performed on period instruments. The warmth of wood wind instruments is by far superior to using a shrill metal flute.
Those high notes starting at 3:53 always make me smile.
A beautiful performance of Rameau!!!
Love that circular rythm throughout the whole piece, especially 4:18 to 4:30
Very enjoyable, such a great and well played piece. It's so good that these lovely old instruments can be so well recorded now and hat's off to the engineers and camera people of the this performance also.
Beautiful music, beautiful performance, beautiful sound! Thank you!
Just wonderful! My highest compliments.
Fantastisch! Zo mooi gespeeld en met zoveel plezier! Ik heb genoten!
This is the piece that makes me wish Rameau had written more stand-alone orchestra pieces.
BRAVISSIMI TUTTI. GRANDE MUSICALITA'
Un régal ! Merci pour le partage !
Very enjoyable and happy performance - absolutely magnificent!

Beautiful performance of this true baroque melody
Outstanding performance!!!!!!!
Avery nice version of this 'chaconne' of the 'Indes Ganates' for chamber formation. An irreproachable and beautiful iterpretation.
A wonderful transcription and performance indeed ! Bravi.
Allez hop ! Rajouté en playlist ! Trop joli

Grazie!
Indeed, that was a wonderful era, baroque will be played for ever
Stunning
I keep coming back 2 u
This is utterly delightful - from many standpoints! Everyone plays vey well (of course), and the music is really lovely (again, of course), but additional sparks of enjoyment are afforded by such details as the cutsie-poo facial antics of the violinist (un petit peu enceinte, je crois), and the well-practiced facial poses of the excellent (and yes, beautiful) gambist - but most amusing for me, were the frequent, deft little "switcheroos" of the flautiste.. Bravi!
A sheer joy to see and hear. Thanks so much!!!!
I think the facial gestures of the gambist were spontaneous so even more beautiful.
If so, I agree!@@jimgigax7237
2:03-2:41 amazing!!!
Prachtig
Neat!
God that is good.
I'm my humble opinion, you will never appreciate baroque music unless played on period instuments. Something that is being done more but still not frequently enough!
Absolutely true.
I disagree simply on the basis of Richter's recordings of the WTC. Even though they're completely historically "wrong", they're still some of the most mystifying recordings out there. But I get where you're coming from 100%, it really is so different listening to this music with the intended instruments.
@@Steinwaytoday I think, yes, probably we should make an exception for Bach and Richter and the development of the Pianoforte since Beethoven. So, I have to agree with you.
I would like to say "thanks, Captain Obvious", but knowing that far too many still don't know this, I can only agree.
Indeed I have to agree with you
Breathtaking
☺✋
Is it this version that the classical guitar players do when they play the chaconne ??
MMC Year 4 Composed in 1736
Whats the name of the 'Cello' like instrument?
Emanuel Garcea it's a 'Viola da Gamba.' A Bass Viola da Gamba. It has frets and it's six or seven strings are tuned almost in the same pattern as a guitar. It has a clearer, softer tone than a cello and the bass member of the family became very popular in the late 17 century and for most of the 18th. Lots of Gamba music on TH-cam for you to enjoy!
As WolfyGreen says, it is a Viola Da Gamba. One of the best performances I have seen for this instrument is by Luciana Elizondo; she plays Loves Farewell, written by Tobias Hume.
