Good morning HW! Just woke up here in South Carolina to your video! Parts of your walk reminds us of Haddonfield, NJ. Nice walk...great looking town! Thanks for the share!
Another Gem mate. Love Surry Hills been a while. Just love the terrace houses and cottages. I guess the Readers Digest building will eventually if not already be given heritage building status. Beautiful design. Will definitely drop into Single Origin for a nectar. Thanks for sharing. Patrick
Yeh man Single Origin (they call it just Single O now apparently) is awesome. Was super disappointed they've done away with the pour overs though. They used to present a small beaker with a descriptive card. Would explain what farm or growing region it came from and what notes to expect. Hopefully they bring it back. Thanks for watching.
Hi. and Thank you for your services. 0:24 You say taht Crown St. is 1n TOP 10 Sts in Sydney to visit. And... The other 9 streets which are? Surry hills has wonderful sight and scens I think, when I have visited. 4:29 The very that point, there was airbnb stays a week! To see the memory ance again is very remarkable.
Apparently these ones = 1. Gould Street, Bondi Beach, 2. King Street, Newtown, 3. Darling Street, Balmain, 4. Oxford Street, Paddington, 5. Bondi Road, Bondi, 6. Glebe Point Road, Glebe, 7. Crown Street, Surry Hills, 8. George Street, 9. The Corso, Manly, 10. Barrenjoey Road, Avalon. I've covered them all apart from 1/5 and 10. Soon. Thanks for watching.
Interesting and as always, informative video, HW. At first when I saw it was over 50 mins long, I didn't have time to watch it, so I'm watching it now on a Sunday morning. Funny how you couldn't get Peruvian out of your brain during your nectar stop. How good were my mighty Roosters V your Bunnies ? Great video mate. 👍🇦🇺 Jim.
There must have been a Peruvian coffee on the tasting board. Damn it. Yeh the footy game was weird. You guys seemed to be more interested. Bunnies were taking a training run I think. Unfortunately your best player is now out Joey Manu. You will meet a different bunnies side next week.
Wow, Surry hills. I remember going there in 89, by train of course. I just graduated from school. I have enjoyed this video so much, since Surry Hills does not have a train Station, I was hoping to see a walk from Central. But it’s ok, I got to see the new Surry. Thank you.
Goto the 43:20 mark and I’m very close to Central station. I actually point down Forfeaux St. Central Station clock tower in sight. That grey building on the corner used to have a Commonwealth Bank branch at street level.
@@hwtours I checked thank you. I kept watching till the end, you mentioned the prices of those terraces, my goodness prices have gone up. I’ll give you a comparison, I bought a 3 level home in Japan, best part of the city. I’m high up on a hill so I can see the whole city under me all the way to the mountain ranges. It cost me 400k.
@@hwtours Rents here are really cheap, so to get your money back on a rental property takes decades. I decided to buy instead of renting because the interest on my loan is only 0.95%. My loan payments are only a little bit higher than renting. You probably won’t believe this, but my payments are only $950 a month. It would cost me about $750 to rent the same house per month. We are talking about a new 3 level home, not some run down terrace in Surry Hills 😅.
Watching now with a nectar. When my wife and I were there we did the open top bus tourist thing but as ok as it was we'd better off walking around with you :).
@@evogardens thanks. Katerina will have to come back and watch more HW vids. As you know Sydney will explode with colour as we move deeper into Spring. Will be plenty of flowers out.
When walking on crown St and When you turned into Albion St, that building on the left was the old women's crown St hospital.
Really. So that was seperate from St Margaret’s? Beautiful looking building. Thanks for sharing.
I was wondering the next time I come to Sydney would you like to catch up for a coffee.
Another great walk 🚶♂️ thanks bro.... yay sydney
@@lisatowner5407 Surry Hills is awesome. Thanks for watching.

Had breakfast in that cafe, very nice it was. Sat outside the library and used the free WiFi, such a tight arsed tourist I am.
That’s awesome. I watch a lot of walking tours from around the world myself. It’s great when spots like that show up on the video.

@@MonacoSpeedWow that sounds awesome. I think Japan has negative gearing too yeh? So can’t just be negative gearing that pumps Aussie realestate.

Too kind. Yeh those open top buses are hit and miss. Sometimes better to use the local transport and do your own exploring.
I left surry hills in 1986....I wouldn't recognise it now.😢
Yep a lot more built up. But still many of the old places remain. Thanks for watching.
Completely confused. Why is there a bicycle logo on a lane that it would be impossible to ride a bicycle on because of parked cars and planters?
Yeh welcome to Sydney cycleways. This happens in a lot of places. You need to share with cars. Defeats the purpose you're right.
Clivias r out !!
Which part is that? Time?
Yes, Spring has sprung.

Looks like London wealthy abit
Yep. To think it used to be slum. Pretty pricey these days. Thanks for watching.
So much history has been lost as people move on
No doubt. But a great place to visit. Lots of old buildings to gawk at and cafes to enjoy.
are terraces still legal to build in Sydney? I love density but hate strata.... be cool if new neighbourhoods were built like this
Not sure. But I would say modern strata law would dictate, especially with shared/adjoining walls.
