This episode was insane. I learned many hacks. But when we talk about the credit card benefits, not all credit cards provide whole lot of benefits if that card doesn't have annual fee. I want to know if there are any credit cards without annual fees provides whole lot of protection and benefits. Kudos to your work, Erika.
I used to work for a major airline for years and I was also a corporate travel agent. I seem to recall that the reason Southwest isn't on any of these search engines is to keep costs down-passing savings on to passengers. The major global systems for travel, Sabre , World Span ,Apollo and now maybe these search engines are charged per entry. So if I am a travel agent creating a reservation ,every time I hit enter, the airline is charged. Maybe 1cent per entry??? Whatever it is definitely adds up!
My sister and I are planning over a month trip to do around Australia and Bali, I can't wait to try the Airbnb hack! I don't live in the States, but this video was insane! There are so many opportunities to save up! I learnt so much! Thank you Erika and thank you Chris.
Erika, thanks for another great episode! I was thinking about how you guys mentioned side hustles- imo a great guest for that topic would be Chris Guillebeau - he knows Gretchen Rubin so you already have a mutual friend!
Are cards for airline miles always airline-specific? I tend to pick the cheapest flights when booking, so I go on many different lines. But maybe it doesn't matter if it's cheapest if it's free because of points?!
No, they have cards where your points can be used for multiple different airlines. If you're someone who's not loyal to just one airline, these are the best to get.
