  • British Petroleum Diesel Test. Deposit Control Additives Test (PEA/PIA).
    Today's multi-valve, lean-burn,
computerized engines are very sensitive to fuel quality and fuel system deposits.
The quality of most gasoline and diesel fuels does not provide enough protection for the fuel system components. This is because fuel system deposits can form quickly (within 5,000-10,000
miles/8,000-16,000 km) on fuel injector pintles, intake valves and in the
combustion chamber, robbing the engine of power and performance.
Nitrogen-based, ashless, high-molecular weight detergent/dispersant additives can control deposits through the fuel system, from the injector to the combustion chamber. These additives can be identified and quantitated (how much) using this simple test kit.

What I can’t understand that the road trains with engines costing more than a luxury car use truck diesel, which is, standard diesel with high flow filler nozzles. So why do cheap engines benefit from special diesel and expensive truck engines use standard diesel without them adding any additives? These trucking companies work on the bottom line and if this special diesel would reduce serving costs, improve efficiency or prolong the life of the engine they would surely use special diesel.

@@frans_d7989 many of them add additional additives. My choice is also to use cheap diesel (Orlen) and add additives. Premium diesel I use only during campaigns with offers from gas station (typically on the same price as normal)

Hey, what’s the difference between v power diesel and shell fuel save diesel ? Thanks

No difference from detergent capabilities. O prefer normal diesel and additives (cetane+lubricant)

@@OilAdditives Shell confirmed The cetane number for our Diesel fuels - Shell V-power Diesel and Shell FuelSave Diesel are conform to the EN 590 specification - so they both have a minimum of 51. So is everyone falling for their marketing nonsense ?

@@Thuds593 sure they have! Apx 53 according to tests. They all meet EN590. But obviously if you use Cetane booster, it would be better (near 60 as premium diesel fuel, Aral Ultimate or Orlen Verva). Engine will run smoother. In my Range Rover cetane booster is as a drug) But the best diesel is synthetic HVO100. If you able to use it you will be satisfied.
