Schubert is so strange and wonderful. His music constantly wanders, often off into beautiful little diversions, then he suddenly remembers: "wait, there's a main theme here, and to it I must return." Such honest music. Thank you for posting this caring, exquisite rendition from Radu Lupu.
'honest' is not a word I'd use for Schubert. Perhaps 'deliriously romantic' .Lupu recaptures these ' wandering' ( as you say) flights of fancy of our beloved composer.

i'm trying to learn this piece, this is my favorite version of it. temp, articulations, ... everything is very very good in my opinion.
