You do know that base Bartre as a warrior with an iron rune actually cant die to Karla right? With a swordslayer he actually kills her at base too! What I'm getting at here is karla sucks.
Nope. Base warrior Bartre would have 10 Strength + 11*2 from the swordslayer, +2 due to double weapon triangle advantage. That's 34 attack vs 29 HP and 11 def, and he sure doesn't double with 3 AS vs 18. So not quite. In the japanese version he would though, since the effectiveness multiplier is *3. As for her not being able to kill him, it depends on who has wta. She barely 2HKOs if she does, though that one is just me nitpicking. Also to be fair, the swordslayer is a pretty ridiculous weapon, especially in JP. Even characters like HM Harken can potentially get OHKOed by it there.
That's one possibility. Another possibility is that the subject was omitted in the original Japanese line, the translator made a reasonable guess for who the subject was without any context, and this line of dialogue was never QA'd because, honestly, how often is this going to happen?

No one here is talking how Karla is on the roof of the arena.
