Trillions on ghost projects 😢 Ruto must GO! We can't just sit back and watch our country succumb to corruption and poor governance. It's time for us to take a stand and fight for our nation's future! We owe it to ourselves, our children, and future generations to demand better. Let's unite and use our collective voices to bring about change. We can create a country that's just, equitable, and prosperous for all. The power is in our hands - let's rise up and reclaim our nation's potential!"
I like this first step in the right direction. Our Public Officers should promote transparency and accountability by showing up to answer questions from the citizenry.
1. Pension to Kenyans should be excluded from taxation 2. If you contribute to a post-retirement medical scheme that contribution should be excluded from tax What in the world?!
Transparency, accountability and integrity should compel that all expenditure items put in the budget are critically looked at to assess their justifiability. The president talked one day about applying Zero Base Budgeting to clean up budgets for unjustifiable items and amounts. We would hope statements made will not be mere rhetoric like we have had about corruption, the real bane of our economy, lifestyle audits etc.
It's sad that the government sees us @Diaspora in terms of tax and remittances. Instead of service delivery and support systems to enhance investment, they have Draconian Airport restrictions that make everything bizarre
These people are learned by lack morals. Simple, just reduce the number of ministries and their budgets, reduce salaries from the president to the governor and senator, get rid of ghost workers and recover corruptly acquired wealth and money. This will be enough to finance Kenya for several generations. This is just a merry go round taxing Kenyans who already are struggling
😂😂 this conversations are just noises to government. Governance has failed in Kenya period. Mbadi felt how we feel to queue in IMF for service delivery 😅
Isn't this the same mbadi who was saying increasing taxes is not the solution and that ruto had bad advisers???... Now after being given the job he is preaching the same ruto nonsense of increasing and introducing new taxes!!!.... Kenyans are already bleeding, now they want to add cuts??.... Politicians from hell
There's absolutely no difference between the finance bill 2024 and the Trump manifesto, it is only in Kenya where anything the State desires to achieve for Kenyans is unconstitutional.

There is one reality that is yet to hit Kenyans and that is, they think Kenya has lots of money but in reality Kenya is poor and has no money but interestingly enough Kenyans wants more from the govt. It's like children thinking that since their dad works in the office chances are, he has lots of money and therefore children demand bacon every morning with hot chocolate and when they travel they need to travel in a Lexus but in reality that dad has no money to do what the children think their dad is capable of doing financially. Mbadi tell Kenyans the reality, Kenya is poor and has no money so they should not expect high tech things because the money to do so can only come from the taxes and it's those taxes that they don't want to pay!
If the dad is eating chicken every day, but when the children ask for chocolate he claims he doesn’t have the money, would they believe him? The issue is the government’s high expenditure and corruption. Solve these two, and people will be more willing to pay higher taxes.
Why should I be Okey with parting with a higher chunk of my money that I should be using to give my children better schooling and better living condition and I know very well that money will go into politicians pockets for them to live in luxury and send their children to study abroad?..... Why should I be Okey with that?
Jamani msimuite Mbadi flower girl, its not right, let us respect our national leaders, and also pray for them God to protect and help them do a honest job.
How about you tax land....anyone owning more than 50 acres of land should pay tax. Why should so many people have big chunks of land while othe kenyas dont have land
Why soo much emphasis on TAX collection but no emphasis on accountability on spending the collected TAX?
The problem of Kenya is not tax collection but government expenditure.
The government should reduce it's expenditure by 20%
By 99%. Most of the money is spent on salaries and allowances! Waste!

What in the world?!
This is the one reality
We needed to hear more of how to grow the economy and how to create jobs/economic empowerment
Transparency and accountability are key ingredients in managing public funds
Why bring Kuria Kimani? He will annoy gen-z again😢

No discussion on expanding the tax base by absorbing more people into the workforce and creating a favorable environment for entrepreneurial growth.
Weka tax zote na mkule kabisa. Kenyans wanafa wafinywe kabisa mpaka wakumbuke ukabila benefits nobody 🤣
If only they could stop wastage and corruption then Kenya will be far economically

Paying taxes is okay But where is it going where is it USED FOR..
How can we manage public debt and manage our wage bill..how do we avoid wastage/unnecessary spending? Thanks
just invest in industries, industries employ more people than small SMEs,which expands tax base....you cant be taxing the same people daily
Whats being done to attract foreign direct investments..what are other ways govt is exploring to raise revenue

Kenya economy iko na money collected 15 to 30 trillion shillings uki grow the economy. Lakini not when uko na graft juu sana
kenya kuna chapa poa , which needs taxation

Since when did this government do tax rebates. I agree with you.
We get means leaders not we kenyans
Too much tax very little work
