THE HANDLE IS NOT A PROBLEM. You are not using the handle correctly. It is not meant to go all the way around. It works like a ratchet. You just need to push that button in on the handle and do small quarter turn or half turns and let go of the button as you turn it back into reverse position. Just like a ratchet wrench does. Free spin when going back with button pushed in and then let go as you tighten quarter and half turns. This way you never have to do full turns in 360. ITs actually better this way! This is a great review but if you could change that it would be fair. I was really concerned about this until I found out how they work. Thanks much for the review. I own three of these!
In reference to your issue with the lever scraping the side of the body when tightening/loosening, just depress the button on the handle to freely turn the lever back and forth to allow you to tighten or loosen. This way, you'll never have to turn it a full 360 degrees and run into the problem of scraping the side. This essentially eliminates the scraping issue altogether!
Just got it with the remote head...TTL version. I wanted the cable as I prefer it be less top heavy on a stand. My assistant can carry the mono bloc unit in the specially created Godox shoulder case and aim where needed. With TTL makes life even simpler especially when I use manual focus lenses.
Thanks for your review! Quite interesting that the AD600 shows the flash duration on the display. It would be kind and helpful if you could take a few minutes and show us the durations for each power setting, since Godox doesn't provides a flash duration table anywhere if I'm not completely mistaken. One more remark: While I don't need TTL either I would still have bought the AD600B. The reason being that the TTL versions have build-in receivers.
hey Jan this does have a building reciever . I was just showing that you can also use the old triggers if people can't afford the extra trigger. the new trigger also controls power output. I'll post the display flash durations on my face book page . hope this helps :-)
+I AM HARVEY Wow, that was a quick reply! Thanks! I did not know that the manual version also has a build-in receiver. Good to know 'cause it saves some money. I'll have a look at your FB page in a few days. Thanks for helping out!
1/256th the speed is 1/10000 t1, which is pretty good. But It is not much faster than using HS and 1/8000 shutter. How much is the flashout puth when you are using HS, more powerfull than 1/256th?
Great review! One question. I am thinking of also getting the V860 II speedlight flash and now Im wondering would I even need the X1 wireless trigger if I can use the speedlight as commander? Or would you still recomment next to Ad600 and V860 to get the X1 as well?
Hey Chris, Great review. I have heard that these units are slightly heavy for most stands, can you tell us what stand you used? Thanks again, Look forward to more reviews...
I have already mentioned which stand I used in a previous comment. but in all honesty if your not using a boom arm then all stands are good for it. I always say to my assistants. ..spend money on good quality stands ..hope that helps
I Am Harvey. Solid review. Full of useful info. Thanks! For that handle that it's issue, just go and buy a couple washers from a hardware store to add an extra couple of mm. :)
thanks very helpful review - I was looking at buying the Godox ad360 for location photography but I want the option to be able to freeze action and I'm not sure if the ad360 is up to that.
+mark shirley Sadley i have never used the Ad360, I have the Godox Portable RS600 which as a sync of 1/2000 and thats not enough to freeze but is a beautiful light
The AD360 will easily freeze action, it's flash duration that freezes action. You do need to knock the power down to get that duration speed. I have a lovely shot I took of a martini splash all perfectly frozen using the ad360II. :)
+Jeremy Thomas sadly no the charger port in on the battery, they may bring an adaptor out which would be helpful. I dont know if you can trickle charge whilst shooting though. I have used the strobe all day and it hasnt run out yet. MAGIC ay
+TheEasyRevenge hey, as i have mentioned in the video . i was using clip lights that wasnt as fast as the godox. plus i had the top lights on for the video that could have effected it.
Thanks for the video. I have 3x ELB400 units and am considering moving over to the AD600BM units. I have several smaller Godox units, V860, TT350, AD200 so it makes sense to move over to a single system. I'd be iterested to know if you have committed to Godox or are you still using Elinchrom? Thanks in advance, Jon
Jon Mold hey Jon I personally have all godox and im actually going to buy more. I prefer to use elinchrom modifiers they have the perfect quailty for me. I do own 6 elinchome elc600 heads but i never really use the. Unless im shooting a large group or need something for the backgeound and theres mains supplied. If i was you ...go godox but keep one light just in case all fails.
Hi again just wondering where you purchased it in the UK and do you know if they ship to Australia and if the power pack will with stand our power out here as we use 240v, once again tanks in advanced. Mark :)
Hey. just bought one, having difficulties getting the firmware update, but working on a solution...can you explain me how to use the strobostic mode, I am able to get the Flashead to Multiple flashes..however when making a photo I only get one flash, is it a wrong setting at my camera..should it be at continuous shooting ?..gr Paul
Did you really say that you could not use highspeed sync without using their trigger? I thought the button on the side that says H with the lightning bolt was the highspeed sync button.
thank for the review. Have you had to pay import tax after buying this or it was included in the sale price? would you mind sharing the eBay seller's link? many thanks in advance.
I just bought it straight from eBay. £380 that's it. I haven't got the ebuyer details to hand but all I typed into eBay was "godox flash" there the little beauty was. hope that helps in some way
:: E1 error:: FIXED! I have an AD600 that stopped working mid-shoot. Code came up as not being able to charge. Found zero support online. It turns out the bulb was loose. I took the bulb out, hit menu/Reset, then plugged the bulb back in and is totally working now!!!

Hello. I just received the Godox AD600 TTL and the H600B. I have a question please. Why after each time I trigger the flash to pilot/modelling light turns off? Is that normal?
+Benjamin Kanarek yes its normal. Some single unit ( not connected to mains power supply) put there energy into the flash tube, this cancels out the modelling lamp whilst the strobe is going off. nothing to worry about. helps with accuracy of the colour balance as well.
Thanks a lot Harvey. Just read the manual and noticed I have the two options, off while flash actuates and on when it actuates. Have a great day! Best Wishes, Ben :-)
+I AM HARVEY PS...Noticed on TTL mode it is underexposing around 1/2-2/3rds of a stop... JFYI, I purchase the 600 H external flash head unit. Keeps the weight off of the top of the light stands.
How strong is the head when placed on a light stand and when you are using a 150cm octobox, does the head slide down due to the weight or is the head strong enough to hold is position and how well is the screw that locks onto the light stand and is there any chance of the handle breaking, please advise thank you. :)
Yes, you can. With the AC Adapter Unit. It replaces the battery. It looks just like the battery that goes on the back of the unit except it has a power cord connection. Sells for $100 U.S.
Perhaps he should have mentioned you'll need to buy the trigger that matches your camera brand, hence mentioning Canon. Otherwise you'll simply have bought an expensive dumb trigger.

Will do, rained today and a big event KOD is going on till tomorrow so looks like Saturday
Thanks for the review as I am looking at purchasing a set of these lights to replace my Bowens lights. :)

Thanks for quick reply. Good luck
Hi Harvey! Would you mind telling me how is the color consistency and light quality comparing it to Elinchrom, Profoto and Broncolor Monolights?
from what I see here, it's better than Elinchrom d-lites.
where do you get Godox products? in case you get a faulty unit, how would you claim warranty?

Does this transmit HSS with the Godox transmitter or do you need a seperate HSS transmitter to do it?
Thank you ! just purchased it
Can you set it to HSS? I found that I had to keep pressing the button everytime?

Where can i buy the godox trigger you showed

I bought this light it's amazing....
I have Yongnuo trigger and receivers, is it possible to trigger this light if I connect a yongnuo receiver?
If you can connect through the 3.5mm socket, yes. But you will only be able to trigger the strobe in manual, not adjust settings.
How is the battery life when using the model light?
Amazing IV been using it alot recently for product shoot and 2 batteries last me all day. Still amazes me
where did you buy it ,,thx
can you use this with wall power indoor, if u don't want to use the battery?
+sunny kiri no sadley it doesnt trickle feed the battery. I know its an extra cost but a second battery is a good idea and there not mad expensive
Yes, you can but you need buy something extra, which costs around 50$
Yes, you can. With the AC Adapter Unit. It replaces the battery. It looks just like the battery that goes on the back of the unit except it has a power cord connection. Sells for $100 U.S.
Novice question here; will this work with speedlite via optical slave?
+Zhorell Ski Yes mate, if you set the light to SLAVE S1 then it will be triggered by any flash
can anyone recommend an octagon softbox for this light that is as large or larger than 38inches?
"These are all shot in Canon so... "
Perhaps he should have mentioned you'll need to buy the trigger that matches your camera brand, hence mentioning Canon. Otherwise you'll simply have bought an expensive dumb trigger.
Hello Friend, I'm Photographer in Brazil, Is this Product Worth It? I Use SB900 In My Jobs.
+Natalino Oliveira yes 100 percent
Meanwhile an extra power Supply Unit is available, so you don't need the battery pack in studio.
