    Skinny Pete is the Gendry of Breaking Bad. Put him in a boat and he keeps rowing for two seasons... ;)

    I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, or if you picked up on it yet, but color is incredibly important in this show. Jane's color is yellow. That's why Jesse's sheets are yellow. It represents Jesse's happiness and path to get clean. Walt's color is green, Marie's is purple, Skyler's is blue. Red foreshadows danger and bloodshed. Walt's wardrobe gets increasingly darker as his Heisenberg persona takes over.

    When it looked like Walt was just about to die, it made things simple: he just had to cook up this one big batch, maybe one more after that if he lasted that long, and that was it, he'd be gone, his family would be provided for, he can just keep telling himself that's the only reason he's doing this and he'd never have to worry about the consequences of his actions, never even have the time to face what he's becoming. Now, he's not facing such a close deadline, he's confronted with the prospect of continuing to make meth, and perhaps forced to admit that he doesn't really want to stop.
    Also, each season of the show lasts only a few months or so in time as measured by the characters, so a couple of years in their time could easily last five seasons in ours.

      Walt is like an addict of himself, an addict to greed and adrenaline. He first tasted it in season 1 with the danger and money he made. He even knew what he was doing was wrong, but he still did it. And in this episode, he was like trying to finish his addiction (I guess) without facing consequences. However, the good news about the cancer, meant he could keep getting more and more deeper into his “business” and grow more addicted to greed and adrenaline. This is what will bring more tension in the show. Ironically, he sees Jesse as an addict for how stupid he sometimes is, but his addiction is what brings more danger and not Jesse’s.

    Walt's cancer diagnosis is still terminal... he just has more time now. Before getting the news he had accomplished his goal and was prepared to die. It was the perfect moment to do so. Now that has been robbed from him. Remember... he never wanted to go the chemo route to begin with. He did it for Skyler.

    I'm sure y'all have figured it out by now but the reason Walt punched the tissue dispenser was because he finally had everything lined up to take care of his family and he was ready to die but upon finding out he'd still be alive he knew he'd have to live with all the shit he's done and risk his activity catching up to him before he dies

    • @JuanTheBone
      @JuanTheBone 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I interpret it at him being mad at himself for being so dumb. He saw the X-Ray and assumed that he was dying, his jump to conclusion essentially landed Jesse and Walt into trouble and almost got himself killed, he also spends the entire episode calling Jesse dumb. Then the doctor tells him that he is fine and he did all of that for nothing. Then he sees his reflection and gets mad at how dumb he was

    "Are you alright Walt?" That's a very loaded question.
    Men want to be providers because we want to feel useful. Providing for our families and loved ones is the best way we can think of to demonstrate this.
    Walt kind of wanted to die. That way things would have been simple. He would have been able to provide for his family but he wouldn't have to face the consequences of what he's done and what he's become. Now that his cancer is in remission that's changed and he's going to have to rethink who he is. That's why he was pissed.
