A luxury car that defines "Cruising" on the road. This one is tempting John. Especially if its driven "as is" and maintained. Myself I would get the air cond working good and cruise. Cheers 🇨🇦
Y'all can keep your Apple Carplay, your fancy Airbags, your amazing German engineered precision... Give me that Skull Bisector 5000 dash of this one of these old Chryslers ANY DAY!!! George Jetson would have been proud.
You've got that right man, everything now has to look like a gray pod and do 0-60 in 3 seconds - I'm so thankful I was able to grow up around and experience cars like these. I'll take one of these over ANYTHING they're building now!
Heck, even Chrysler couldn’t get it straight, calling it first a Chrysler Imperial, then just Imperial, then Imperial by Chrysler. Print ads in the early ‘70s also went back to the Chrysler Imperial nomenclature, and TV ads in 1974-75 lumped Imperials with the lower Chrysler models. It’s a Chrysler.
I had been looking at buying one of these with the free floating headlights. This is a fine example. Finding room indoors now would be a challenge as I picked up a couple of modern ponies. Having done chrome polishing and prep work I notice that most if not all the chrome needs work. Even if it is to be kept as a survivor I would "fix" that and man that has a lot of chrome! I checked out the photos online and even under the car looks decent. I suspect you will sell this fairly quick. Had I seen this 5-6 years ago it would be mine. Good Luck with it and I am going to look at the photos once again . I really do think she is a beauty!
A duplicate of one at our local Chrysler dealer. Previously owned, I practically begged my dad to buy it, without success. One of my all time dream cars is 1961 Black LEBARON, the epitome of Exners fabulous finned fantasies for Chrysler!
As elegant as the Green Hornet Imperials of '64-'66 are, this model is just stunning. I'm curious, however: was the "toilet seat" faux spare tire hump on the trunk an option? The car looks so much better without it. Also, the contrast between that huge wrap-around windshield and the small back window is incredible! This beauty will go fast.
No, thank god the "toilet seat" trunk was an option so not all Imperials have them - to me, this is one of those car options that make me slap my forehead and say "what were they thinkin?"
Great price for a beautiful automobile. I came so close to owning a 1963 Imperial with only 58,000 miles on it, almost identical to this one in cream color, way back in 1977. It would have been my first car. The lady who owned it, saw my enthusiasm as a young 16 year old and offered me the car for $1800.00!!! I gave her a $250.00 down payment to reserve it for me with intent to buy it. Her husband was out of town and had to wait for him to come back. Much to my disappointment, the husband contacted me and said he had already promised it to a business associate while on his business trip. Unknown to his wife. I was heart-broken. He sent me my $250 back. I wanted that car so badly. I still love this body style out of all of the Exner designs of the late 50s and early 60s period. These cars are superior to Cadillac in every way. I judge the Lincoln's on par with the Imperial.
My mistake although as I mention, there are 90 photos of the car on my website, including the trunk so any serious party would go there for the additional stuff not in the video. Thanks for pointing that out though! If that's the only complaint, I guess I did pretty good....
Great automotive art. I've owned two 1962 Imperials, a Crown Convertible, and a Custom Coupe. This is a sweet example of a LeBaron. Wonderful driving cars. A/C, freon not legally available. So a R134 rework?
It's a consignment. We price them accordingly. We don't service consignments. I'm the middle man only. The price, which is a bargain is based on the non working A/C. It's owner (not us) has chosen not to tackle it.
Imperial was a stand-alone marque from 1955 onward. Unfortunately many so-called "dealers" on youtube continue to refer to them as "Chrysler" Imperials. That is incorrect and it's high time that you boys who claim to be in the "car business" learn the facts.
It's so strange It's beautiful. I love the headlights, the hardtop design, just all of it. But my favorite part would have to be the steering wheel and instrument cluster. I would love to be able to drive around looking at that. Just awesome. The only thing I don't like is the leather seats. I don't like leather seats. They're just not comfortable. I don't understand why everyone wants leather seats. In the days of chauffeur driven cars. The driver had a leather seat. But the passengers rode in comfort with cloth seats.
You mention that the A/C needs to be "tended to" (poor grammar) by the next owner?? For $ 24,000 , it is YOUR responsibility to "tend to" the AC !! PLEASE!!! My family have been Chrysler Corp. dealers since 1946. I am now the 4th generation. We know our facts.
This car is a consignment. This is not a car in our inventory that we service. We price our consignments accordingly. Working A/C or not, this car is an absolute bargain. I worked for Chrysler for 35 years.
Why do you refer to it a "LeBaron CROWN " ???? It is a LEBARON..NOT a Crown !! Do you boys do any research before you produce these videos?? My family has been Chrysler Corp. dealers for 80 years. I grew up with these vehicles. I'm only a 30-year-old girl, but I know my facts!!
The worst era of Chrysler. This was during the Colbert - Newberg scandal. It also involved Jack Ruby's attorney Sol Dann who was the largest shareholder, went after Chrysler executives in '63 at a board meeting for mismanagement, shotty build quality, high operating costs and low sales. Apparently cars were rusting on dealer lots, components failing before cars even took delivery. Newberg was apparently arrested for assaulting Colbert at a country club. The scandal wasn't resolved until the early 70s.
Absolutely outrageous but still gorgeous vintage Chrysler. But, there’s no arguing that Stellantis has started to kill Chrysler off with their recent announcement of a 30% reduction across the board Of employees, real estate, and who the hell knows what else! Chrysler itself probably be extinct in the next year. 💔😵😭

Beautiful survivor. I love Exner designs.
@@davidkastin4240 , Agreed!
This car is so fabulous, perfect, quality perfection Imperial, interior all so amazing, like the steering wheel, love it, thank you, Steve
Beautiful. My elementary school teacher in the 1960s drove one of these Imperials with the floating headlights. Her's was a pale shade of green.
In ‘73 my classmates and I repainted this model in green and white because the lines on it were awesome, nice ‘63!
Y'all can keep your Apple Carplay, your fancy Airbags, your amazing German engineered precision... Give me that Skull Bisector 5000 dash of this one of these old Chryslers ANY DAY!!! George Jetson would have been proud.
Agreed! Rolling art right there!
Could not agree more. This is a true luxury automobile.

Beautiful car! I could see Milburn Dreysdale and Jane Hathaway cruising down Rodeo Drive in it.
Gorgeous car, thank you for posting.
👍 The Incomparable Imperial! ❤ 🏆 Those WERE the days!
Really like these older Chrysler cars ❤
Gorgeous survivor.
It's not a Chrysler, it's a Imperial built by the Chrysler Corporation. Imperial stood alone from 1955 to 1975
Most people still referred to it as a Chrysler.
Thanks. I correct myself during the video actually.
@@orphancargarage5746 okay, sorry

Every single video featuring an Imperial there is some doofus commenting just like you. Try to get over this soon. 🙄
What A Beautiful Vehicle And Styling ❤😊
It's an Incredibly Beauuutiful Car!❤
Happy 4th 🇺🇸
There are no beaches open in Massachusetts. So sad on the holiday.

Beautiful car and I typically don't care for gold. Yet this is just beautiful!
Love & want this imperial. Just as is 😊
Wow, that's a beauty. If I had that, I wouldn't do a thing to it! And greetings from Lynn.
Those floating headlights were a beautiful design feature, but boy were they a pain in the ass in winter.
I suspect you are correct!
How so if I may ask - my guess would be maybe snow/slush buildup around/behind them?
@@TomSnyder-gx5ru Yeah, exactly. Then the mounts rust and the lights fall off.
Always cool to see cars that were ur birthdate '63 Ohh what a night!❤
A neighbor ( we didn't grow up in the best neighborhood) had one of these as a daily driver
Fun fact: The 1977-1981 M Body Chrysler LeBaron wore the same LeBaron crest that's on the steering wheel.

No, the custom deck lid tire hump was optional. And yes it destroys the cars beautiful styling.
No, thank god the "toilet seat" trunk was an option so not all Imperials have them - to me, this is one of those car options that make me slap my forehead and say "what were they thinkin?"
The roofline is still Exner not Engle. That roofline was used in the 61s and 62s

I would imagine the husband just didn't want a 16yo getting the Imperial, I can hear him now - "you sold the Imperial to WHO!!!" 😲😳 - lol!!
@@TomSnyder-gx5ru That could be true.
Beautiful car. Seemingly fair price. How many/few could be left in such shape?
I agree and it's still available.
that is so fugly it is beautiful.

I love it!

No.. it's not a CHRYSLER Imperial.. it's merely an Imperial.. just like it's not a FORD Lincoln, it's merely a Lincoln.
I think because Chrysler name was so well respected by early 1960, people paid no attention.
Beautiful automobile, but probably not the best choice if you're looking to be inconspicuous.
