KNIFE MAKING SPANISH NAVAJA

- Hello
This is the (personal) reproduction of the classic Spanish pocket knife from the 17th and 18th century.
Napoleon's brother banned swords and the Spanish resistance made huge folding knives to defend themselves from the invader, besides firearms. Finally they went to their country.
These knives (bandolero style) were the inspiration for the famous bowie knife.
This particular blade has a rounded tip, it is designed to penetrate and not break. In the original design, the blade of the knife was wider at the tip, in my case it is the same thickness throughout the blade. Of course they didn't have 3d printers, they used a bull or deer horn. As I have already said it is a personal reproduction.
Today there are still some master knife craftsmen in Spain who make exact and wonderful reproductions of these knives, for instance Luis Vergara google (navaja clasica española siglo 18)

As I knife maker, I can tell you right now, the fact that you did this without even using a belt grinder is impressive. Love the ingenuity of design your operating with.
Wow, Thank you.
I don't know what to say....

Large navajas are my favorite of all knife styles, especially ratcheting ones, I would be eternally proud of myself if Id done what you just did! I would carry it everywhere and stare at it all the time.
Thanks Joe
Every time you open the blade and it goes "snick"...I am left remembering Asterix and Obelix in Corsica...I get it now!

That level of attention to detail is impressive wow true master
Thanks, I am trying it

Navaja de bandolero...muy bonita...!!!
Beautifully made. Although not my style, I still would love to own this one. Be proud of your work.
Thank you, I understand. This type of knife was designed for personal defense 18th and19th centuries, basically to kill. That is why has a strong and rounded tip. But I like it and I always wanted to have one.

Amazing work and detailed documentation of the process. You have to have a pretty clear vision for this kind of production value and end result. Navaja ratchet sound is classic.

I am not especially fond of the 3D printed scales, but honestly that's just an aesthetic personal preference. Overall, I'm very impressed with this. Great work!

🇲🇽
I, JOAQUIN PEREZ-LOPEZ, MADE THIS EXACT KNIFE!!!!!!!!💯😎👼🏽
Dominos and Dice... 🎲
Domino = in Spanish, I dominated
Dice = slice n dice 'em
Because normally Spanish speakers eat spicy foods, it also has to remind one of a Chile serrano, or a pepper, or a jalapeno, etc... And the elegance of the thick and bold to slim and curved design really gives it a Spanish speaking remembrance 💯😎👼🏽🇲🇽🎲
Kind of like the 7 Spanish Angels that took another angel home ❤️🔥
(Me and Willie Nelson singing when I died in the Tesla warehouse and another place)
Take my money!

That's absolutely stunning buddy
Awesome work well done👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Andy
That is beautiful
Thanks
fine craftsmanship

on really thin peices of metal, if you want a much more symmetrical hole from drilling, place a small bit of cloth (old wife beaters work best in my opinion) between the drill bit and the work piece...
Ok
Thanks
nice dice theme id call it the gambler it looks like a main character's weapon in anime they get in a chest that adds extra crit damage
👍
Thanks
Beautiful knife, well done! Maybe invest in some tools to make the job easier?
👍
Thanks Andrew
Yes. I know 🙈

Hello and nice blade! Watching this vid has kinda made me want to make one of these from an old file that has run it's coarse. And I was wondering, what program did you use to modal the knife?
The Gypsies actually had a knife almost identical to the Navaja, it was called a Caracas
Its superb ossam outstanding.. price
dobra robota!
Great work. That`s a knife or is it a machete.. I like the small, neat details at the handle. Really a cool and different knife.
Thanks
This is a masterwork of a knife. I've been wanting to make one myself. Any chance I could get the blade and backspring pattern from you?
Lots of hard work 👍
👍
Thanks Arjun
