I, 100% agree with your comments about the guitars on this track! They play so so well togher! Miku's guitar play is definitely improving and Kanami's riffs, oh yes, it's absolutely phenomenal.
I just got finished watching the Okyu-Ji live online show, these ladies are an absolute joy to watch. Musical perfection, great stage presence, fun to watch even when they're not playing the songs... I honestly don't have enough good words to say about them. These 5 ladies are the best active rock band on the planet right now.
That event streaming was superior to what you find live on any broadcast or cable network. Band Maid is in a league of their own. The show just exploded from the start then folded into a sweet funny nonscripted moment back into Band Maid playing their hearts out for the fans they sorely miss.
It hardly seems possible what they do, isn't it? It's rock music honed to perfection. When I heard them live 5 years ago I thought "they are good but not great, the music needs a lot of polishing". Also Saiki was struggling with her voice as well as the audience, and Miku was wearing her guitar like an ornament. And forgot about them for a while. But three years later I went to a concert of them, couldn't believe my ears. They did what I hoped for and much, much more. Look where they are now, joking with each other on stage, while at the same time presenting a wonderful unity of loveliness and talent. But what looks so easy now didn't come cheap. They worked damn hard for it, and deserve everything they get!
I had a similar reaction. I was lucky enough to randomly be at their first ever concert on American soil back in 2016 in Seattle. It was good but not great, however, what shone through was some of the obvious musicianship. I felt they just needed time and they could be really something. I bought their CD they were selling at the convention the next day and got it autographed. About two years ago I came across it and listened to it so I decided to see what they've been up to. I was needless to say...floored. They really did put it all together and have become quite possibly one of the most impressive and important bands in rock in roll right now.
Damn it! Saiki's blank lyrics made me sing along everytime during the online crowdless concert. It was truly amazing, I felt like I was there on stage.
There are not enough words in japanese, english, spanish or any other language you speak to describe how good this band is. There are so many layers in EVERY Band Maid song that it´s incredible. Puzzle is just a rock masterpiece. Thanks Band Maid for bringing happiness to everyone´s life.
Band maid put into one 4 minute song what a lot of bands would turn into a double ablum. Every time I listen to a song I hear something new, and live, they add extra twists. I wish I had found them earlier.
Miku's "magic spell time" talking is part of the show. I love it cux it lets us seem them just goofing off, loving being together and just being silly. They they go back and slam you in the face with hard rock.
Yes, that was great this morning. It was 3 A.M. here when I watched it. I was really impressed with an empty studio. The break was them being themselves and you could tell they really love each other.
I was the same, had a huge smile on my face through the entire show. It was obvious that they all missed performing. Here's hoping they can get back to performing in front of a crowd soon. If not then i will gladly pay to watch them every week
I had liked these ladies for a weeee while before I heard this..Puzzle. For me and this performance was a total game changer. They are SOOO F%&KING GOOD. My favorite band for the past 2 years. I saw their live stream today...... Champions, Total champions at their craft. I'm in the far north of Sweden, when they pass through Europe again.... I don't care where, I'm there. I have never felt this since I first discovered Metallica.
@@franshendrix1404 Being from Australia, I don't care where in Europe it is. It's all in a daytrip or an overnighter for me. Don't care..... where ever it is...I'm there. Gonna start a special Band-Maid savings account for when they come back to Europe..... probably go to England, although Netherlands sounds great as that is where my mother is from. Cool to check out her home town.
Great song and reaction. Band Maid has climbed many musical peaks, this is surely one of them. I just hope they find a way to make the Budokan concert happen.
Am really Happy You experienced the Live Stream Yourself and got swept by how good they are live. This Song especially shows how flawless Saiki's Vocals are and Kanami's Great Riff Fills which are often missed sometimes by others who listen to the Band. I am not taking away the Brilliance of Akane's Drums or Misa's Bass parts but Kanami is a Goddess that structures every song of the Band. Thanx again for a Great Reaction as Always 🙌🎶
Incredible that they can put on a show at that level with everything stacked against them--it's live, so no re-takes or corrections; but no audience to supply energy. And they just set the place on fire! I've seen them live and it's an amazing experience. Find a way, no matter what you have to do!
The lyrics will literally crush you, Miku is such an amazing lyricist. Read this and listen to the acoustic version. Your life will be changed forever. Saiki will hold you in her arms and let you know what broken love is all about. Thanks Kafka for the amazing translation.
Rocky, I couldn't agree more. So many great moments that gave us up close insight into the massive talent these five ladies possess. The show was spectacular! The sound, the lighting and the set was mind blowing. The camera work was brilliant as well. Beautiful close-ups of all the members, as if we were right there with them... and Miku's rhythm on "Play" is freaking killer! Brilliant 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Oooh, almost forgot how awesome this song is live. You feel the pain, the relief, the emotions...it hits you ever so deep. I dedicate this song to my mom, r.i.p.. Even though the song is about something else, but emotionally, it hits hard!
I fully expected the girls to be great, so what impressed me the most this morning was the production. I assumed that it was going to be better than their last live stream where they just had a guy walking around with an iPhone, but WOW!! Everything about that show was fantastic. The sound quality, the camera shots, everything was top notch, so kudos to their team. I could go on & on how impressed I was ....... but I won't, if you seen it, you know what I'm talking about. Great reaction btw.
Miku truly is adorable! I would want to put her in my pocket and taker her home! This song is, indeed a test of endurance. Maintaining that consistency it the challenge in this song. I didn't get to see the live stream due to an unexpected expense. 😿😿😿
Really cool that you supported them and it was worth it for you too... It is really an awesome experience and exactly what you said, they are cute, humble, shy, but if they pick up their instruments they unleash the beast or i don´t know... It´s just great! Good reaction like always and keep rocking :)
Great reaction to a beautiful song. I agree, the live stream last night was fantastic; the sound production/audio mix top-notch, exceeded my expectations. I don't think this band has reached its ceiling. Saiki's vocals and Miku's guitar continually improve. And Akane, Misa and Kanami - already master class musicians - seem to be getting tighter, bolder and more dynamic in their style and performance. And that chemistry - it's the rarest of gems; you can tell how much fun they have together performing. I hope they continue to pursue this live stream format seriously (during and after Covid-times) as a way to enable us international fans to get money into their pockets so that they can continue to create. Was endearing to see the band take time to interact with their virtual audience.
I like the part where Saiki was feeding lines to Kanami to repeat into the mic. I also liked watching Misa and Akane making faces a each other during one of the songs. Misa seemed to be especially animated. Maybe is was the beers. Haha.
Band-Maid are awesome. Yes, they can outplay just about everyone except maybe Angry Monkeysteam. Between Band-Maid, Lovebites, Aldious and Mary's Blood I hear a rumor that Ritchie Blackmore traveled to chuck all of his guitars into the Thames.

I'm still in the virtual concert listening to their repeat performance. It's nice to be at the front of the stage (sometimes on the stage!) with a kitchen and bathroom nearby and not lose my place.🤩🤘
I really didn't know what to expect. And...it was perfect and perfectly them. The sound was great, the set was great, and as always, it's fun to watch them perform with each other, not just next to each other on a stage. Hope they do more of these.
This has always been one of my favorite Band-Maid songs and one that has rarely had a reaction. Thank you Rocky, for reacting to it. Just like you said. It has everything. Their performance they did early this morning for me, was just awesome. It was so good to see them live online. It's what we all need right now.
If you search "Band Maid Puzzle reaction", you find will find plenty of reactions, but they aren't recent. The reason being, this video was taken down about 4 months ago, and someone just recently re-upped it. Hopefully it won't be taken down again, because it is the best version (I think it's better than the studio track).
I was looking forward for your thoughts about the online performance. It was really good, although there was no crowd, the ladies seems happy and having a blast as always. The image quality and the sound was very good too. About the break they took in the middle of the concert, they usually do that. Miku tends to chat with the audience and make that "moe moe kyun kyun" thing, that is borrowed directly from the Maid Cafés because, before BAND-MAID, Miku worked as a maid hostess and then she became with this idea of mixing a maid visual concept with hard rock. I think these moments are really funny and it shows how this band is away from the typical heavy rock band. Breaking that mold and experiencing the gap is what rock n roll is all about for me. And, as you said, they're humble, polite, friendly and unpretentious, they are genuine and they just want to rock you out. As for "Puzzle", is an amazing track. When I listened to "Just Bring It", it was my first experience with BAND-MAID, and this song, with "Don't You Tell Me", "Moratorium" and other,s make me fall in love with this ladies. This live performance is truly awesome and the whole concert is like that. Cheers Rocky Harder!!
"Omajinai Time" is a feature of every live show, with the "Moe! Moe! Kyun! Kyun!" bit being a copy of the maid cafe 'magic spell' to make the food taste better, with the implication that in the show will be better as a result of the spell. It could be a bit twee, but it's not taken that seriously, and there's usually a bit of mucking about. This clip from London is a very good example... th-cam.com/video/x6iSf73LiQ0/w-d-xo.html (it's hard to understand at first, but after three or four minutes, it's all in English)
It's growing on me. It's pretty goofy and it's kind of nice that they are not shooting for the "coolest musicians in the coolest band" attitude. We have all seen that a million times.x
hello! their little break in the live performance is almost always there to give Saiki and the band a little time to breath. I honestly didn't expect it to be this long, considering the live show was "only" 1 h long - but I enjoyed the sh*t out of it! One of their best "Omajinai Time" I've seen yet! There are a couple videos of their overseas (europe/us) Miku breaks, but I heard the japanese ones are better (no language barrier, so Miku just doing her thing without thinking too much about how to better express herself). The overseas ones were nice and funny as well, haven't seen one completely "original". The live Blu-rays and DVD (Shibuya/Zepp) have ones as well, and they are good - but they aren't as improvised as here :D as for the translation: www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/hw8qqq/bandmaids_first_online_okyuji_discussion/ Kanami waving her arms around, Akane picking flowers etc - I expected one break, not that long, but I enjoyed it the most, far exceeding my expectations. I hope Kanami never changes, she is such a weirdo, gotta love her :D Same goes for the whole show - I didn't expect it to be THIS quality! I thought it would be more in the line of that butchered live TV performance of "Rinne" to be honest What a band, man.... As for "Puzzle": one of my absolute favorites from them. The perfect song. Musically and lyric-wise prop. their best imo. You may have noticed - none of them are smiling during this performance. It's a sad song. Miku mentioned a couple of times, what she isn't writing about herself or her own experiences - here I find it very hard to believe. The acoustic one has a different tone. Sadly they didn't performed this one in quite some time live in its original form, they do the acoustic version of it instead. So this video you watched is the best version of it to this day...
Cracking video! Glad you also enjoyed the live show this morning. It was great to see and to watch again again and again. It was like if they were in your house to play for an hour.
Rest assured... Kobato is not going to just sit around and wait for Budokan next year.... She has plenty more tricks up her sleeve... We'll be seeing more from them in the next few months I am certain... 🤘🤘
They are awesome. The Stream was needed in this times without livemusic. Now I wonder if this is the better version of Puzzle ? Before when I heard the minmal accoustic version I thought it was the better version. Just the best.
Great reaction to Puzzle, one long solo for Kanami, I'm constantly amazed at the physical stamina these tiny ladies exhibit, I'm not a musician but how do Kanami's fingers not cramp up or Akane's legs fall off? Watched the live stream (it started at 3am EDT) and for only $25 US it was money well spent, they put on a great show, only regret for me is that I don't know Japanese so miss a lot of what Miku's saying during her breaks, but did get the idea that they were watching the live chat. I wonder if we will ever find out if that was show was profitable for them. I''m sure it's based on the number of tickets sold.
bout to rewatch the live stream.. MISA doing the response bits during Miku's moe moe kyun kyun omajinai time was gold. might be the best sounding live version of DICE to date now that you've heard the full version of PUZZLE, you gotta hear the acoustic: ht tps: //vim eo com/431240586 remove the spaces and add the dot
that live was too short :/ but still awesome and still miss the Akane drums solo :P Girls nailed it and the cams staff too :D And Miku, when she talk no one can stop her :P
Please, please, greedy sad people of the world, bussinessmen, fundamentalists, misoginists, racists, don't ruin this. Let this women bring you happiness, joy, peace, don't ruin this please.
@@goodsong6732 wow that's not a bad pull just with the Japanese fans... Might be their highest take if the international side did their share... Hopefully they sold all their merch and make this a regular gig.. We know Kobato isn't gonna just sit around and do nothing til Budokan
Could you do some babymetal reaction please? :) Rondo of Nightmare, Headbanger, Karate, Akatsuki, Death, No rain No Rainbow songs have pro shots of their live performance of you tube, they are GREAT.
I have no idea how it works, that i'm a big fan of Unlucky Morpheus, i really love Lovebites but i haven't heard a single Band-Maid song i would like. And i see most of people who like one of these bands end up liking all three since they're somewhat similar
I think it's just a matter of personal taste. In my case, I like LOVEBITES, but don't love them. Maybe it's because their style isn't exactly what I'm looking for in a rock band, although I know they're great in what they do. But BAND-MAID is the band that fill my needs in rock music. You know, for tastes, there're colors.
Diff genre and aesthetic is probably all it is. Like Babymetal, Unlucky Morpheus and Lovebites are great bands. I'm a rock fan; I like funk and groove with my heavy sounds; I like compositionally tight and creative song writing, and I like Saiki's vocals. I can listen to one Lovebites song and feel satisfied. Band Maid otoh - I had to go through their entire catalog on replay. It's just a taste thing.
I, 100% agree with your comments about the guitars on this track! They play so so well togher! Miku's guitar play is definitely improving and Kanami's riffs, oh yes, it's absolutely phenomenal.

The live Blu-rays and DVD (Shibuya/Zepp) have ones as well, and they are good - but they aren't as improvised as here :D

Kanami waving her arms around, Akane picking flowers etc - I expected one break, not that long, but I enjoyed it the most, far exceeding my expectations. I hope Kanami never changes, she is such a weirdo, gotta love her :D
Same goes for the whole show - I didn't expect it to be THIS quality! I thought it would be more in the line of that butchered live TV performance of "Rinne" to be honest
What a band, man....
So this video you watched is the best version of it to this day...
mother of merciful jesus spine tingles galore
Akane sounds like an AK-47
This live is really amazing.👍
Both are fantastic in their own ways

@@goodsong6732 Thanks, already on reddit, just didn't check yet, that was fast.
bout to rewatch the live stream.. MISA doing the response bits during Miku's moe moe kyun kyun omajinai time was gold. might be the best sounding live version of DICE to date
now that you've heard the full version of PUZZLE, you gotta hear the acoustic: ht tps: //vim eo com/431240586 remove the spaces and add the dot

that live was too short :/ but still awesome and still miss the Akane drums solo :P
Girls nailed it and the cams staff too :D
And Miku, when she talk no one can stop her :P
She is so shy and lacking in self confidence :)
my favorite song
So many "Easter Eggs"..For those that listen.
Please, please, greedy sad people of the world, bussinessmen, fundamentalists, misoginists, racists, don't ruin this. Let this women bring you happiness, joy, peace, don't ruin this please.
I wonder how many tickets they sold?
There were 15 k Japanese people but the rest of the world is not known.
@@goodsong6732 wow that's not a bad pull just with the Japanese fans... Might be their highest take if the international side did their share... Hopefully they sold all their merch and make this a regular gig.. We know Kobato isn't gonna just sit around and do nothing til Budokan
@@goodsong6732 Thanks Peter.
Speaking of guitar technique, Miku is not noticeable, but it is none other than her who put together their performances.
No Miku, No BAND-MAID!
@@threemonkeysk Had no issue hearing Miku..

Here is when you realize Kanami is better than Slash. 😁
Slash is too slow for Kanami, and as for those melodic slow tune…both of them can do it so Kanami win 👌🏽
Could you do some babymetal reaction please? :) Rondo of Nightmare, Headbanger, Karate, Akatsuki, Death, No rain No Rainbow songs have pro shots of their live performance of you tube, they are GREAT.
first.:)
I have no idea how it works, that i'm a big fan of Unlucky Morpheus, i really love Lovebites but i haven't heard a single Band-Maid song i would like. And i see most of people who like one of these bands end up liking all three since they're somewhat similar
Maybe you’re more into Metal? Band-Maid is not very metal. I’m the other way around. Can’t get into Unlucky Morpheus or Lovebites.
I just love Band-Maid and don´t like Unlucky Morpheus or Lovebites, soooo it´s not that wondering i guess
I Am a Madiac have been Lovebitten and love Fuki and Jill but only like Unlucky Morpheus
