It's amazing how when predominantly black music is being talked about doowop ,rythm and blues , rock n roll is somehow skipped over ,and they go straight to Motown !!! everyone basically skips an entire decade of music !!!!.1950's.....The Cadillac's(ny) ,The Teenagers,(ny)The Cleftones(ny),The Harptones, (ny)The willows(ny), The Swallows,(Baltimore) The Rainbows(Washington DC) I'm fairly sure these groups especially the last two performed at the Howard Theater and many other groups as well !!!!...........
I was 14 when I saw Rare Essence there. It wasent the hay day of the HOWARD, but. I could tell, even as a kid with out knowing the history.It was a special place. I would drive past the HOWARD and say to my self.Why wont they re furbish the HOWARD.They are doin all the other theatre's. Just let me say.....FINALLY...im glad its back.I look forward to being entertained there again.Before I go....may I say.....YOUR VERY BEAUTIFUL Ms. or Mrs. Hamilton....and u have a great shoe.
