Same here! I used to watch him on TV all those years ago. I didn't realise this old man was actually Phil Cool, but then searched online and it was in the late 80s/early 90s he was famous when he was in his early 40s. Hard to believe that was over 30 years ago!
Loved this bloke his impressions were brilliant loved his shows so much time has gone by and have heard nothing of him until now always seemed such a lovely guy it’s good to see him again and glad he is in good health and is happy stay cool Phil
I saw Phil in Ipswich many year's ago, absolutely brilliant. We had a Phil Cool VHS tape, my boys, now 40 years old, watched it countless times. We still do jokes and our not so great impressions from it, to this very day. Loved him, what a talent. 😂
I had the pleasure of seeing Phil perform his one man show during his run at a theatre near Holborn in London. Bought him a pint in the bar after. Absolutely lovely man and his show was comic genius. Enjoy your retirement Phil, you've more than earned it.
Phil Cool came into my head about 6 months ago and I watched some of the footage of him It’s weird to see him so old as, in my head, he was big just about 10 years ago, and not *mumble mumble* years ago
He always amazed me how he could just pull a face and instantly looked like the person completely. I particularly remember him doing the Subterraneans from Stingray. Who needs CGI with blokes like Phil Cool?
Great talent missing from our screens for years. Very funny guy who did impressions of people no one else could do. Seem to remember him doing an impression of a Morris Minor once! So funny! You should still be on Tv now Phil. Too many garbidge quiz shows hosted by talentless annoying gits!
Great inpersonater he could use his face like just jelly twisting it into any well-known celebrity or even someone from everyday life of the street. I enjoy his talent of mimicry. Always wondered where he had got to. Hope his doing OK, we are all thinking of him, his fans. Hopefully, he'll turn on a screens in a future event or something simple. Miss him on screen. Hopefully, some TV channel will show his TV series as reruns. Phil Cool Knight Sir Cool. Come on, King Charles, he may of done you on tv, but he deserves a medal or something for entertainment.
Aww, he looks so sweet and gentle. I, too, am a huge Star Trek fan and prefer the classics over this current new stuff. But when Phil did that impression of Kirk looking at himself on a communications device, he was accidently ahead of himself on that one as everyone does that on smartphones today!
I was lucky enough to go with my friends band to a new years insurance company dinner dance ( in lytham st annes if the grey cells are still working I am 68 now ) phil sat with us a night great bloke awesome on stage was pleased to see this clip and share the memory from way back when
Absolute genius comedian - how he could morph his face into any character! Phil, if you like the Star Trek original series, then Google ‘Star Trek Continues’ - it’s a Hollywood production quality mini-series which ‘finishes’ the last two series of the original ‘five year mission’ (that CBS ran out of funds to create after the first three). It faithfully imagines how the series would’ve been completed and the entire set design and production is indistinguishable from the 60’s original. It even has some cameos from original guest actors… and Scotty is played by the original actor’s real life son! All episodes are on YT. 👍🏻
Yes he's 76 now! Years ago he was doing a show for those lads (and lasses probably) in the military down in the Falklands and during his act, someone in the audience let out a very loud fart. His response was quick and absolutely brilliant "That's the first time that I've been heckled by a real arsehole!"
One minute he was there, and then he was gone. I swear he was invented and built by Nick Park, but then dismantled and used as material to create Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run....
Ah Star Trek. You always knew if the main characters were beaming down to the planet, they were coming back. But, if there was a new guy beaming down with them? Especially if he was wearing a red jumper?
Phil I am amazed how different you look now from all them years ago on tv.I often think of how bloody funny you were and what you may be doing today.I delivered a car in the 90s to a little village, can't quite remember the name but something that sounds like chipping. My Co driver told me. this is where Phil Cool lives.I was absolutely over the moon to be in Phil Cools village.I remember passing a pub on a corner and thinking, I wonder if he drinks in there ?.My old Manx mate Nick & I where in bulk over that erection sketch.Naughty but absolutely hilarious !
Hope Phil is enjoying his much deserved retierment.........and i hope he knows generations will be enjoy his act......live long and prosper sir.
Here here!
The amazing Phil Cool, i had to look twice , he is so old now. How time has passed . I did not know he was a big Trek fan, how cool !
Yeah, it's weird how sone people seem to age more visually than others.
@@SpartasEdge To be fair to him he is approaching eighty years old.
Good to see you Phil.
@jonathancoombes1495 That is fair.
Same here, I didn’t recognise him nor believe it was him until he spoke
What’s sad is that I’d forgotten all about him but glad he is still going strong . One of the best . I hope he earned a lot of money in his time .
Same here! I used to watch him on TV all those years ago. I didn't realise this old man was actually Phil Cool, but then searched online and it was in the late 80s/early 90s he was famous when he was in his early 40s. Hard to believe that was over 30 years ago!

A legend and I’m so glad to see him again! He was the UK answer to Jim Carrey. His facial contortions required no make up. His impressions, spot on!

Saw Phil doing a double header with Jasper Carrot at the Bristol Hippodrome. Brilliant show.
"Are you sayin' that Red Dwarf's encountered the Star Trek universe?"
"Precisely, Sir!"
He always amazed me how he could just pull a face and instantly looked like the person completely.
I particularly remember him doing the Subterraneans from Stingray. Who needs CGI with blokes like Phil Cool?
He was frigging awesome. I always tried to watch him whenever he was on.
Loved watching phil back in the day ....I swear his face was made of rubber the way he used to portray those characters.....
Love Phill, never see comedy like that again.
Christ, didn't recognise him at first, but the voice was so recognisable.
Great talent missing from our screens for years. Very funny guy who did impressions of people no one else could do. Seem to remember him doing an impression of a Morris Minor once! So funny! You should still be on Tv now Phil. Too many garbidge quiz shows hosted by talentless annoying gits!

Jim Carrey looked up to this man.
You were brilliant Phil, summat different and so talented.
Saw Phil live in Eastbourne at the Devonshire Park Theatre back in the day, his Jaques Cousteau was hilarious!
I saw Phil at the villa marina in the Isle of man in the late 80's and my ribs still hurt to this day
I was lucky enough to go with my friends band to a new years insurance company dinner dance ( in lytham st annes if the grey cells are still working I am 68 now ) phil sat with us a night great bloke awesome on stage was pleased to see this clip and share the memory from way back when

Loved him in The Britas Empire and Red Dwarf 😅.
One minute he was there, and then he was gone. I swear he was invented and built by Nick Park, but then dismantled and used as material to create Wallace and Gromit and Chicken Run....
I’d forgotten all about this guy until now
Came to see you one of your shows when you were supporting Jasper Carrot, 2 huge stand up talents, thank you for the laughs, great memories 😂
OMG! I almost didn’t recognise him!
Uncanny resemblance of Kirk. Every nuance enhanced to comedic gold.
Ah Star Trek. You always knew if the main characters were beaming down to the planet, they were coming back. But, if there was a new guy beaming down with them? Especially if he was wearing a red jumper?
I saw phill cool at the Cliffs Pavilion back in the day.
My late father thought he was hilarious AS DID I.
