The ambience of DOOM 3 is outstanding. Its such a masterpiece. Especially with a surround system and Gaming OLED Monitor. Play DOOM 3 with Surround sound, alone, stoned in a dark room. Trust me... best experience
When you know you know, did it in the old days in CRT, high as a kite man that was the sheeeeeet, i need to play this again urgently sadly my surround receiver its broke :( only stereo or headphones😢
I've never noticed that you can very faintly hear Betrugers laugh in this, a little snippet of what is to come.

i dont know if its just me, but i could have sworn i heard this same sound while on the giant elevator in the caverns level. Im not sure if i imagined it or if it was really subtly there, but that moment really made me reminisce - remembering when Mars City was a normal place and now theres almost no survivors at the time im going down the elevator.

I had a fantasy back when this game came out of doing science with this ambience in the background. Fast forward 20 years later and I can make it a reality! Thank you so much.
I love this office horror atmosphere that took off briefly in the mid-2000s beginning with DOOM 3. F.E.A.R. comes to mind as well.

i really liked doom 3 its one of my favorite games
The subdued tune kinda gives me a Totall Recall vibe, the calmer scenes had this kind of "space science" cues going on.

I returned to this comment a year later. I would like to add that this game is a masterpiece for me. The ambience, sci-fi, sounds, Mars, Hell, lore and plot are perfect. Doom 3 is a VERY underrated game. As an astronomy lover, I really enjoyed it. (Ironically, I didn't like Doom 2016 and Eternal).
