      A Malaysian is not homogenous. You can have Malaysian Chinese, Malay, Indian, Kadazan etc. Their culture/language/lifestyle are not all the same although there maybe some similiarities, but, they share the same nationality, spirit as Malaysian.

    Depends who you ask. Typically, a Malaysian malay can speak 2 (Malay and English), Chinese can speak 3 - 4 (English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Malay) and Indian can speak 3 languages (Malay, English and Tamil/Hindi). You are welcome

      @@mohdrizazyabdghani7922 Can't bro. Malaysia is a multi-racial country. If you are Malaysian, you should know this. A Malaysian chinese spoken languages would be different from say a Malaysian Indian. It's fact, but, not implying anything, but that's how it is in a good way. Malaysia ensures every ethnic groups also learn, speak their own mother tongue.

    I literally waiting for u to interview a Chinese but I see none lol. As for me, I speak 5 different languages which is English, Malay, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien. I can understand Hakka and Teochew as well. 😊

      basically you speak three languages. those other than Eng & Malay are Chinese dialects. if we take dialects into consideration, then I can speak Kelantanese, Perlis, Kedahan, Perakian, Negeri and Javanese☺Throw in Dusun, Kadazan, Melanau and Dayak too.

It's more important when we start looking for some job or help some people or touris, or holidays and its depends with who I'm talking to.most important is Bahasa melayu SANGAT penting Dalam kehidupan seharian.walau macam mana sekali pun Dan banyak mana Bahasa saya atau rakyat malaysia boleh bertutur, Bahasa melayu adalah Bahasa utama(Bahasa kebangsaan/national language)..macam Tu juga kawan2 non Muslim mereka juga Akan bercakap Dalam Bahasa melayu.

    I speak Malay English, understand Javanese but need to polish my spoken of it.
    Attempted to learn Mandarin long ago but didn't practice it well and I would say I had forgotten. Now learning Arabic on my own and may understand the Alquraan between 30-60 % (followed by comparing my understanding with the more established translation). 😊

    I acquired Malay since it’s my mother tongue. I learned English and Arabic in school. I can understand a bit of Minang due to ethnic heritage. I learned Mandarin during tertiary education. Fluently, only the former two.

    manyy school in malaysia offer other language in high school. For example, many had learnt chinese since kindergarden and then highschool french/japanese/korean/arab can be their new choice and yet they still speak fluently and got a certificate for it ❤! Example of famous school is the Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah ? yup

    malay, english, chinese since kindergarden , dusun since middle school, first japanese but the teacher move then got into french , then i move into a boarding school and got korean, i learn a bit arab in my new highschool because of my friends that got into arab class language , so 4 fluent , 2 so-so (just got the certificate hehe) and 2 abit only (which were arab and japanese) hehe, japan is hard and i only learn it for 1 year before the teacher move and corona strikes...

I speak malay and english with high fluency level.. my mandarin and msa arabic are not very bad, currently at the lowest level in cantonese and now i am into tamil ( at least the non standard version of tamil i guess it is)..and also i am thinking about to learn hokkien, dusun, semai and so on..i am 41 yo

    I can speak 3 languages. Bahasa Melayu, English and Javanese. I learned Arabic in school, I can only read and understand about 10-20% of the spoken standard Arabic (ex: news, religious text), but I can't speak it.

    It's amusing to see in the background of this video the introduction to Islam in both English and Chinese. I never thought people can even try to convert Chinese people to muslims. Maybe Christianity is more possible. Fun fact is that I am Chinese and muslim myself, but I still don't think it ever works. I mean, you can be influenced into it by other people, but not like this way.

    Most malaysian chinese knows at least 3 languages namely Mandarin, English and Malay and some Chinese dialects like Cantonese, Hokkien and Hakka

    I currently only speak 2 languages (B.Melayu & English) but I am putting efforts into learning 1 more language which is Russian. Though it is hard to manage my schedule as I barely have time to learn it due to school and stuff 😔😔
    As of now I can read russian but I don't understand anything lmaoo. Gotta learn grammars next, then I move to vocabulary.

      @@interviewsaroundtheworld8467 this is going to be controversial but bahasa Indonesia is basically Malay mixed with Indonesian dialects. we share the same root words, vocab, sentence structure, grammar. the base for Indonesian is Malay. to put it into perspective, Malay is like standard Japanese and Indonesian is like Kansai ben. Same language, different sounds & intonation (and words too).

    I can speak malay and English, but I have additional language such as French, German, Italian, Dutch, and Russian. For additional languages, I learned with application such as Mondly, Busuu, Memrise, Seedlang (French and German only), and Lingodeer.
